Khuda-e-Sukhan Mir Taqi Mir (Urdu: میر تقی میر) (born 1723 - died September 20, 1810), whose original name was Muhammad Taqi (Urdu: محمد تقی) and takhallus (pen name) was Mir (Urdu: میر) (sometimes also spelt as Meer Taqi Meer), was the leading Urdu poet of the eighteenth century, and one of the pioneers who gave shape to the Urdu language itself. He is often remembered as Khuda-e-Sukhan meaning God of poetry.
This makes a lot more sense, since the lover anticipates such a difficult task of going to the street of the beloved, that he prepares himself for the torture which he figuratively describes as bathing in blood.
I think all wors that contain do chesmeh hay.. like dkhaye, bhi etc are from senskrit root... verbs like kiya, kanra too has senskrit root.. rest is persian and a bit of arabic. so this ghazal has senskrit words yes.. rest i dont beleive in urdu hindi tusle.. the langauge which is spoken in the nrth of idia and most of pakistan is a beautiful langauge..
This songs lyrics are a mixture of Urdu and Hindi but a great a mixture somehow .... not many can do this I haven't heard such a song anywhere. The meanings if understood properly are so deep. Enjoy!!!!
Bohat Aarzoo Thi Gali Ki Teri means I longed (desired or wish) alot for the way to your home So Yaas-e-Lahoo Main Naha Kar Chale I bathed in blood of despair.
Translation: Dikhayi Diye Yun Ke Bekhud Kiya Means, Saw you in such a way that made me forget myself Hamain Aapse Bhi Juda Kar Chale means You seperated me from even myself Jabhi Sajda Karte Hi Karte Gayi means My head kept bowing in prayers for you Haq-e-Bandagi Hum Adda Kar Chale means I fulfilled my duty of being truthfully devotional Paristish Kiya Tak Ke Aye Buth Tujhe means I worshipped you Nazar Main Sabhon Ki Khuda Kar Chale means I made you God in everyones eyes .... Here's my Translation:
You appeared thus that I went out of my mind
I even became beside myself
My forehead went prostrate and kept on prostrating.
To the extent of fulfilling the rites of worship
O Idol! I worshipped you thus
That I made you a god in the eyes of all!
Oh! I had such desire for your street
That I bathed here in blood, and then started.

As further evidence why YaaN means "here"
because at 2:09, meer says "Parastish ki YaaN tak"
meaning "I worshipped until this extent"
Meer's YaaN= Modern YahaaN

Bohot Arzu Thi Gali ki Teri
So YAAN se lahu mein Naha Kar Chale
"I had much desire for your alleyway
So, here I bathed in blood and then went"
This makes a lot more sense, since the lover anticipates such a difficult task of going to the street of the beloved, that he prepares himself for the torture which he figuratively describes as bathing in blood.

what a lovely GHAZAL, and beautiful music by khayyam, and beautiful singing!!
No wonder it's my favourite indian movie song!
Now I want to add some corrections, to the lyrics:
IF you closely analyse the lyrics for one stanza
"Bohot arzu thi gali ki teri, So yas-e-lahu mei naha kar chale"
I had much desire for your alley-way
so, I bathed in Despair-of-Blood, and then went?
Blood does not despair, and it absolutely does not pass, and a great poet like Meer would not try to pass it.
