"Blackbird" is a Beatles song from double-disc album The Beatles (The White Album). Blackbird was written by Paul McCartney, but credited as usual to Lennon/McCartney. McCartney was inspired to write this while in Scotland as a reaction to racial tensions escalating in America in the spring of 1968, (according to Sony/ATV Songs 1968) McCartney stated that he had a black woman in mind when he wrote the song ("bird" being British slang for a woman).
I saw Macca in October of 2005 in NYC at Madison Square Garden. I've been going to concerts since 1969, and McCartney was the best concert I've ever seen. The second best was my first concert in the same venue. Jimi Hendrix in May of 1969.

I was vacationing in the Desert when I heard bout Coachella happening this weekend! But I had to leave Friday! Really wanted to stay and see Macca in person!!! D : HE IS A LIVING LEGEND. <3
I had the great pleasure to be right there enjoying all his music. It was a very emotional performance. I had such a great time. Who can tell he is already 66? OMG his energy is amazing!

I will be seeing him at Fenway Park in August, also. I got to see him 4 different times at the Fleet center. All AWESOME shows. Have fun.
