It was too close to tell, but I think the ref took into account that even though he may not have touched the ball, Chris' presence on the field affected the play's outcome. It was definitely one of the more bizarre occurrences of college football though.

This kid wasn't the only one on the field. Texas deserved to be penalized because half of the idiots on the sidelines had gone onto the field during a live play.
That ref is a CUNT. If touched the ball don't you think the direction of the football would of changed? Regardless Texas was pounding Rudy's ass all night and we need a play like that to get people from changing the channel. HOOK 'EM BITCHES!

Seems like there were a lot of people on the sidelines stepping onto the field. If you pause it before that kid even goes to grab it you can count at least 6-8 people moving onto the field. WTH was that all about, and why wouldn't that be an infraction as well?
