My dad worked there back in the 60s when I was growing up. He was the head bartender for many years. I never got to go there before I left New Orleans at 18, but the very next time I get to go back it will definitely be on my list of places to go. Commanders is definitely a classy place. I'm sure it's one of the few places in New Orleans these days that still is. ;)
