  • Stephen is such a fucking bad-ass.

  • @ludocrat piffle-bibble

  • @MrTonyInchpractice

I must have been absolutely paralytic when I wrote that gibberish. My apologies. The offending nonsense is now removed. Steve Fry's heroic status as comedic genius and official nationalised cuddly brain remain untarnished by complete nobodies like me.

  • @ludocrat tinkety-tonk old horse :)

  • I love stephen, but just want to clarify Rod Stewart was in The Faces, not The Small Faces: my love of the small faces makes me want to clarify that.

But love this interview! so good!

  • we now know there was something of the wild animal in major

  • Stephen Fry! That motherfucker was on unstoppable form in this interview. So good.

  • Clive James went to my high school actually, I looked him up and he was an alumni. So he's Australian

  • just seen Clive James again and he's looking much frailer than he did a few months ago. I wouldn't expect him to last more than a few months :(

wat a brilliant guy James is

  • YUM.

  • Clive James sounds a little bit Australian..

  • @aleerarose

    He is Australian

  • where's jarvis' accent gone?

  • what- he's huggable? XD lol. but kinda true.

  • Best Stephen Fry intro EVER.

  • @jimbo4848 oh dear.....someones in the closet

  • Rod Stewart was in the Faces, not the Small faces, I think.

  • John Major a tiger under all that? Yes, He was nobbing Edwina Currie!

  • 7:25

    :D

  • he's a national fucking treasure!

  • Brilliant!

  • How long was he in prison for?

  • @26highstreet I heard he spent three months in a prison called Pucklechurch Prison (which I found particularly amusing).

  • Love Clive James

  • hugable is the best description of stephen fry =)

  • Man, Fry is a beauty. I'm Canadian and when I mention that to any British person they are very impressed. They immediately respect you, and say in that charming accent "Stephen Fry is a bloody national treasure".

  • Who cares if the laughter is canned? I laughed. Anyone with a fully-functional bladder would be hard pressed not to. Enjoy the video, and if you really want to be sure of live laughter invite your friends round to watch it with you!

  • Such chapped lips at the moment; I really tried not to laugh, however, that last bit just split my lips right open, but it was worth the pain! Heart Stephen.

  • He looks absolutely gorgeous here, love the hair. :)

  • "Now your hair behaves even when you don't..." *sigh* Mr. Fry is simply irresistadorable! ;D

  • I just shrieked with glee at the end of this clip. He he he he.

  • YELLOW pages.

He does the ads for Twinings Tea, so I guess he got his wish. :)

  • haha 'Good old L.O. Pages'

  • dear god hes cute.

  • there apparently was something of the wild animal in John Major, or at least Edwina thought so.

  • Stephen is SO CUTE in this! Thanks for uploading!

  • good god, I adore this man! :)

  • You have the coolest videos.

  • Oh Dear. I am giggling like a mad fangirl with rabies.

  • me too! he is so adorable - i love the way he does that school boy thing of flicking his fringe out of his eyes:)

  • Because you're lovely... *squirms* <3

  • oh this is newly uploaded! thanks!

he seems quite pleased with his shampoo voiceovers! lol.

  • you have an archive of gold

  • What distracting and annoying overuse of canned laughter.

  • I agree - very annoying! Great video tho :)

  • Can canned laughter ever sound good and in place?

  • GOODOLESOUTH:

    > Can canned laughter ever sound good and in place?

I suppose it can, but only if used so sparingly and with impeccable timing that either we do not even notice that it is canned laughter, or at least do not find it distracting.

This one does not even come close. Besides, who needs to be "prompted" to laugh when listening to Fry and/or James?

  • Right-ho!

  • i would say so, but it has to be right

  • Clive James' show was recorded infront of a live audience. It's not canned.

  • If that is a live audience, then it is remarkable how they all laugh uniformly--crisply starting in unison and sharply ending in unison.

  • You say that with such sarcasm, but I can ASSURE you that Clive did these shows infront of a live audience. If you don't want to believe that, it will just make you look like a goose, because the fact he worked infront of a live audience for these shows is bona fide, recorded in his autobiographies (among other sources), fact.

  • LEND ME YOUR WORDS: I am stating the FACT that the laughter we all hear from this video clip is

    > uniform--

    > crisply starting in unison and ending in unison.

It matters not if the sound comes from a tape, from a pack of geese laughing as they do when flying in unison, or from a live audience of such coordination as to rival synchronised swimmers.

  • Are you sane? You're getting pretty excited about this. I will tell you again -- it's a real audience. It doesn't matter what you think it sounds like -- much the same as it doesn't matter what colour a colour blind person thinks a red car is -- the laughter is real. Get over it.

  • I agree. What is her problem??? And the reason they all start uniformly is because they all hear the funny things Fry says AT THE SAME TIME!!! But gagothesith is taking it all very seriously... its very strange. ^_^ x
