I ran 13.7 he ran 14.1 his V8 vs my 4cy Turbo. Regardless I just don't agree with all the hate. I like to see V8 modded as much as a 150hp 4cy.
Why does everyone hate. This is a, lets say, D class car. The Evos, Mustangs and STIs are lets say C class. They could be fast for their class. My car smokes them, but that doesn't mean its lame.

@httthug no honda and or acura from the factory can touch 13's (nsx not included) most run 15-16's even hondas with motor swaps aren't touching 13's. like i always said if u wanna go fast get a rwd V8, if u wanna get good mpg and have a car that sounds like a bee taking a rowdy fart in a can get a fwd 4 banger. my 02 Ws6 stock was running 13.4 in the 1/4, it is only slightly modded and now i am at 12.2-12.5. why start with a 150-200hp platform when u can get a stock v8 making 340hp? just saying!

@tommyfacekicker depending if it was the 1st or second gen of the b16a. 1st gen = 158hp/111tq 2nd gen = 168hp/idk tq a base model ek hatch only weights 2200lbs a gsr teg weights 2500lbs wit a 170hp car and 128tqnow both chipped i/h/e and cam gears have little to no power gain on a stock engine as the one in the vid so the cam gears make no difference same as the msd kit msd only send multi-sparks to burn the fuel more efficiently no real power gain you would notice unless your car is well built

The biggest problem with the h series is that the only good trans they had, wasn't made in the us and is extremely hard to come by. I've had 2 4th gen ludes (one with an h22r, one with an h23vtec) the r trans makes a world of difference. Overall id take my teg's over a lude just because the interior in my tegs suits me better.
My jdm SiR-G (b18c) with i/h/e (177+mods) pulled on a rsx-s with i/h/e (201+mods) so.....
I dunno, between the 3 the B and K motors are WAY better than H's.
I love K motors as well. Torquey as hell compared to B's. But I like the high redline, wider powerband on the B motor. Main reason is that under boosted applications with such light FWD cars, the tires don't get overwhelmed as easily with a wider powerband as compared to a narrower/torquey-er powerband.
Whats with the H-series hate? A stock H puts down more then your bolt on b18 does, sure they don't respond to bolt on's that great, but in there stock form they have more power then any B, and as much torque as a K, and cost less then a B or a K. I understand the cylinder walls suck for boost and if you want to make high hp, but with bolt on's a H will kill a B with bolt ons...if you plan on modding further I can see why one would perfer a B but still. H's are quick, cheap, and relilable.
Sure, H's do make more power than any B, but the lightest lude or H equipped car weighs at least a couple hundred pounds more than a Teg, so the power/weight ratios are actually similar. Take that and combine it with wider power-bands/higher redlines/lighter weight and you get a much faster car, regardless of boltons.
H's in custom body's is a diff. story, and if are built strong enough they have more displacement and can make more power than B's, but not K's.
a type R is faster than a 4th generation vtec lude, but other then that any other B-series car from the factory is slower than my 4th generation vtec lude. I currently have a 2.25 inch ebay special catback, a k/n drop in filter, and a chipped p28 with a h22 basemap (not tuned at all) and I ran a 14.68. If I had a real 2.5 inch exhaust, I'd expect to run a 14.5x. gs-r's are a close race but I've never lost to one. Hell I beat one (it was bone stock but still) with 3 people in my car.
My 95 gsr(obd1), even with my usdm b18c1 with i/h/e I pulled on a 4th gen with i/e, barely tho lol. Since getting my jdm b18c with i/h/e now I've smoked 3-4 others.
My proudest moment tho....pulling on an rsx-s with i/e. Got him by 1 1/2 cars just through 3/4 gears (about 65-120.)
I like lude's tho, don't get me wrong. Especially the look. I love my Teg, but Lude's look a little better(stock anyway).....If only they were lighter.
Yeah I've been in this debate before lol american h22's with p13's (or even jdm ones with p13's) don't run right. Once I got a basemapped p28, the difference was night and day. I only have a homemade intake, ebay special exhaust, and a chipped p28 and I'm running mid 14's (best run is a 14.68) The weight doesn't really bother me because a lude still handles great and rides better than a teg, and in my experience is faster...After all, whats ~250lbs when you have 30+ horespower and torque

The biggest problem with the h series is that the only good trans they had, wasn't made in the us and is extremely hard to come by. I've had 2 4th gen ludes (one with an h22r, one with an h23vtec) the r trans makes a world of difference. Overall id take my teg's over a lude just because the interior in my tegs suits me better.

My jdm SiR-G (b18c) with i/h/e (177+mods) pulled on a rsx-s with i/h/e (201+mods) so.....
I dunno, between the 3 the B and K motors are WAY better than H's.
I love K motors as well. Torquey as hell compared to B's. But I like the high redline, wider powerband on the B motor. Main reason is that under boosted applications with such light FWD cars, the tires don't get overwhelmed as easily with a wider powerband as compared to a narrower/torquey-er powerband.
Both are good in diff ways

Whats with the H-series hate? A stock H puts down more then your bolt on b18 does, sure they don't respond to bolt on's that great, but in there stock form they have more power then any B, and as much torque as a K, and cost less then a B or a K. I understand the cylinder walls suck for boost and if you want to make high hp, but with bolt on's a H will kill a B with bolt ons...if you plan on modding further I can see why one would perfer a B but still. H's are quick, cheap, and relilable.

Sure, H's do make more power than any B, but the lightest lude or H equipped car weighs at least a couple hundred pounds more than a Teg, so the power/weight ratios are actually similar. Take that and combine it with wider power-bands/higher redlines/lighter weight and you get a much faster car, regardless of boltons.
H's in custom body's is a diff. story, and if are built strong enough they have more displacement and can make more power than B's, but not K's.

a type R is faster than a 4th generation vtec lude, but other then that any other B-series car from the factory is slower than my 4th generation vtec lude. I currently have a 2.25 inch ebay special catback, a k/n drop in filter, and a chipped p28 with a h22 basemap (not tuned at all) and I ran a 14.68. If I had a real 2.5 inch exhaust, I'd expect to run a 14.5x. gs-r's are a close race but I've never lost to one. Hell I beat one (it was bone stock but still) with 3 people in my car.

Hmmm, I seem to have different memories lol.
My 95 gsr(obd1), even with my usdm b18c1 with i/h/e I pulled on a 4th gen with i/e, barely tho lol. Since getting my jdm b18c with i/h/e now I've smoked 3-4 others.
My proudest moment tho....pulling on an rsx-s with i/e. Got him by 1 1/2 cars just through 3/4 gears (about 65-120.)
I like lude's tho, don't get me wrong. Especially the look. I love my Teg, but Lude's look a little better(stock anyway).....If only they were lighter.

Yeah I've been in this debate before lol american h22's with p13's (or even jdm ones with p13's) don't run right. Once I got a basemapped p28, the difference was night and day. I only have a homemade intake, ebay special exhaust, and a chipped p28 and I'm running mid 14's (best run is a 14.68) The weight doesn't really bother me because a lude still handles great and rides better than a teg, and in my experience is faster...After all, whats ~250lbs when you have 30+ horespower and torque
