Gorgeous. My youth. Part of the genealogy of how life has unfolded for me, sometimes, against me, sometimes, before me, in front of me, on top of me, inside of me. I listened to some of these songs while walking through Seoul and Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima. I listened to them as I traveled from Singapore through Malaysia and over to Borneo. I listened to them as I traveled through Thailand to Bangkok and then, as we were landing in Rangoon. These songs are beautiful anywhere, where love grows.
..'.i'LL STOP THE WORLD AND MELT WITH YOU'...SEEMS LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE RECORDED THAT MODERN ENGLISH TUNE...THIS SONG JUST HAS THAT SAME SPIRIT....NO HATE POST'S PLEASE.
@luciddivision hey it was released in a dvd box set called "Item" which contained to dvds. the first being a documentary called "New Order Story" and the second being a collection of all their old music videos and a few new ones (ceremony and temptation) called "A Collection"... when i first saw this on youtube i had to find out where it was from too and tough it took a while i did, and i just had to buy the box set for this... you can find it on amazon search new order item
This is the one on the substance album. And for the reccord, Marie Antoinette was a total tart, cant say the butchering wasnt deserved. I am french, and I am proud to say I have NO blood to those worthless gitts. The origina 7" version was great, The Joy Division versions were cool too, all and all, this is one of the best songs they ever did.
This is the one that they re-recorded with Gillian, but before she joined the group formally. There's an original version that was the first New Order 7", that was never released on CD until the Singles set came out.
Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown, Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Watching her, these things she said, The times she cried, Too frail to wake this time. Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows, it's got to be this time, Avenues all lined with trees, Picture me and then you start watching, Watching forever, forever, Watching love grow, forever, Letting me know, forever.
guys i just found out it is the official video for ceremony .. go to the wikipedia article of new order and read the section on "Waiting for the Sirens' Call and Singles" it mentions that this video was made later in new orders career and released on a dvd set with other music videos.. you can find it on amazon..
There are several version of 'Ceremony' and it was originally a 'Joy Division' song. This version is one of the best and has a faster tempo than the Joy Division version. Great song.
@FSchouten this is the official video. It was created in 2005 for the New Order dvd box set titled 'Item' it contained a documentary known as 'New Order Story' and a collection of music videos titled 'A Collection', and thats what this video was made for. I personally love it
@FSchouten Well, I don't know anything about 'some' film, but I DO KNOW that this song was used in the AMAZING movie Marie Antoinette!! (: It went BEAUTIFULLY with the setting and all that jazz! Absolutely AMAZING! <333333333333

This is why events unnerve me,
They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she ask's the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.

Beautiful song. Nostalgic. Romantically bitter-sweet. Like a heartbreak, and learning about yourself in the process.

Excellent description. In Ian's version, you could literally hear and feel the pain in his voice while listening to it.
Makes me feel forlorn. Like I lost a friend :-(

Une merveille.
Magnifique clip pour un chef d'oeuvre de Joy Division - New Order.
Ce clip exprime à merveille le poème de Ian Curtis.
Bravo et merci !

New Order were so wicked in the 80's. These guys were way ahead of their time.

@FSchouten I read somewhere that it was made for the DVD A Collection, they wanted to do new videos to old songs. So maybe it's somehow official.
