I have long been a fan of Jim Croce. He sang with a wonderful transparency. It's as if there were no distance between his heart and his voice. Rest in peace Jim and thank you for sharing so much of yourself.
@pbarrigher If, by your question, you are implying that he had an easy life prior to the plane crash, that's not true. He came from a working class family and worked various dirty, physical labor jobs to pay the bills until he became successful in the music business. That success did not occur until a couple of years before his death. He did not have to deal with racism, poverty, or a disability as Ray Charles did, but he had problems in his life.

I just listened to this song.
Jim Croce I know Jim's songs. they are beautiful, all have something melancholy.
His voice is so tender and smooth. He had problems, and unfortunately no longer alive.
