i think it's because people used to see Michael as a bad guy, someone who kills his older brother and sudenly he shows up as a good guy, who hasn't any bussiness with gambling, liquid, women, cassinos... And them he appears as someone who was with a medal given by the pope humself. I like the movie, I think this is a great movie.
