  • Where is the jug???

  • I love how Beatle Bob disappears after! He's like some kind of rare animal that you have to quickly spot, or something.

  • Such a great band, and they perform on such a small stage.

  • he did really well for someone that almost didnt make here at all

  • I'm sorry, i know that Roky's had his problems or whatever but this performance sucks. Carries none of the original energy of the 13th floor elevators. So sad.

  • He looks like a cross between Squiggy and Glenn Danzig

  • that guy in the back ground dancing is "beatle bob" a super great guy and MC... he rules! also.... he likes to steal thinks too, dont let him sleep at your house.

  • that guy in the back ground dancing is "beatle bob" a super great guy and MC... he rules! also.... he likes to steal thinks too, dont let him sleep at your house.

  • lol that guy in the back dancing to i walked with a zombie is a fruit cake

  • Roky Erickson still has the classic voice that he had when he was younger.

  • wheres the jug

  • so cool

  • Yes we had been missing you Rocky...

  • That guy sucked on Harmonica

  • Threadgill's bar and Roky Erikson with the Explosives, and Powell St. John (with others) This is why Austin is so GREAT on a summer day!! Peace and Love to you all!

  • all these years later and his voice was left seemingly unchanged.

  • god what a great gig at what looks like a state fair wish it would of been in oregon lane county would of definetely appreciated rocky!

  • testify Roky testify! Every day needs a little bit o' Roky for the yeh-hup into the bright light of day and the cool surrounds of the eve

  • fuck its sad that a band like this plays in shows like this

  • @oldschoolrock4evr I don't get you, these folks are loving them? OK so it's not a huge $30 ticket gig, playing for hipsters, but they look like they're having fun, look again.

  • @oldschoolrock4evr There is no way that anything on show here can be described as "sad".

Seeing Roky, Powell St.John and John Ike Watson on stage after all these years is a fucking triumph IN EVERY WAY.

  • Absolute gem. Long live Rocky!!!

  • roky, i love you!! even if you made some rather unfortunate decisions in re: hairdos for this show...

  • lol at the yuppie drinking dos equis

  • Cam King's solo in "I Walked With A Zombie" is fantastic.

  • ahh too bad Roky does not play his harmonica himself.. well nice vid anyway.

  • wow, that scary howl on the original recording is fucking gone.

  • Is that Beatle Bob in the background dancing?

  • @raihadjackson Yes I think it is. The only time I've ever seen Beatle Bob is in a Guided By Voices video (I think it was the song "My Kind of Soldier"). That's got to be him. Good spot!

  • Does anybody know the chords to "I Walked With A Zombie"?

  • Come on it's simple! C A F G and C again

  • He's a heroe, an icon! To bad about the haircut though...

  • Comment removed

  • @redmeatheart - he's far too cool to give half a shit about his hair. That's called mad genius hair. It gives the finger to lists.

  • That is if you have one.Wich I doubt

  • i like to work on my motorcycle and get high !

  • Hey if Roky his self or anyone that knows Roky should happen to read this, I'd like for him to check out a YouTube video of a guy that he should remember. As I understand he is a lost friend of yours Roky. Check it out if you want to get in contact with him I can now help with that, Message me on here (YouTube) about him. Click my user name to understand what I'm talking about.

  • that's a lovely lead guitar break in 'i walked with a zombie'. great stuff. love you roky x

  • he still sounds real good

  • Wow, this is great! Isn't this from his first "comeback" show? If it is, that's quite a performance considering how far down he got during that decade out of the spotlight.

  • Yeah, Roky should tour Australia

  • Great song. I love outsider artists like Roky, Jandek, Smog, The Atlantic Manor, Songs Ohia, Will Oldham... you get the point. all great stuff!!!

  • yeah Roky.....come to australia!

  • fuck I love Roky.

I wish I could see him live.

Being in Australia it's not likely I guess.

  • Saw him last night in Athens Ga.and it was amazing!

  • Does anyone know what guitar he's playing? 58 Les Paul? You don't see many hollow versions.

  • that's a gibson reissue of the ES-135,137 or 175...can't see clear enough to tell which one

  • OMG! did anyone else see that asshole "Beatle Bob" behind Roky dancing! What a fucking asshole!! Great clip of roky tho.

  • Glad to see Roky out performing again...has had a tough life, but still kicking!

  • Guitar player's one of the best!Great stuff!

  • That's great rock and roll, blessed be roky!

  • ok not my cup of tea.. but where was the i walked with zombie?

  • I'm not exactly sure, but I would guess it would be that second song that goes "I walked with a zombie" over and over in the chorus?

    Just puttin' it out there...

  • i saw him on hultsfred...amazing

  • you might be right about Powel, but he should have brought a harmonica in the right key for the song, or just not play at all, rather than sucking that bad.

  • @TheWuzzBand

Amen. Powell tries to make it work. But, if the harp is in the wrong key, it's tough.

  • that can not be their harmonica player. that's some drunk redneck that just jumped up on the stage.

  • That harmonica player is Powell St. John, who basically started the entire Texas psychedelic music scene back in the early sixties, and who wrote 6 songs for the 13th Floor Elevators. Powell is a member of the Texas Music Hall of Fame and is about as far from being a redneck or a drunk as one can imagine. He performed at Roky's invitation, and to quote Roky himself: " I think he is a first-rate harmonica player...His songs are some of my favorites!"

  • @excathead I don't care who he is, he can't play worth sh*t!

  • i saw him live i gbg the 21 of december 2007 the best show ever

  • Damn, how cool, I was there.

  • A movie about Roky Couldn't be in the making, could it?

  • It's Already been made... The documentary "You're Gonna Miss Me"

  • too bad the harmonica player didn't choose the right key to play in

  • Beatle!

  • At first glance it sounds funny, but Roky's career is long lasting and consistent - he wrote good things in the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. as many problems as he's faced, his longevity is impressive.

  • somebody has the R.E.M version ??

  • Roky roks!!!

P.S. Check out the crazy dancer behind roky!

  • Imagine him in L.A. totally clean living in the same block as Jackson Browne near Silverlake in '71? He'd be huge today.

  • yeah roky!!!!

  • Roky, in France we love you !

  • I want Roky to come to Florida or some surrounding area, man. I can only dream.

  • Do the Beatle Bob Bop !

  • Threadgills....yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
