  • sorry, who are these wankers? nothing compared to joe...

  • Most of the people in that audience probably had no clue who Joe Strummer was. This would have been better without Steven Van Zandt and Tony Kanal. Costello, Springsteen and Grohl are good, IMHO. I would have liked to see Tim Armstrong take part as well though. As far as surviving Clash members, maybe they had reasons not to take part. Joe had been estranged from them for quite a while before his death. At least, from what I have read and what I remember at the time.

  • Nice to see a tribute to Strummer, I don't have a problem with it being mostly Americans. Just goes to show the Clash were important globally.

  • Nice but it would've been better if Tim Armstrong was invited..he enployed Strummer last if anyone recalls Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros.

  • Bunch of american tossers

  • @steenje last ichecked elvis costello is british

  • american idiots!!!

  • @whokilledcamilo well said

  • american idiots

  • i agree!!. we miss you joe

  • Who is the other guitar man?

  • If you take the guy from No Doubt out of this, is just perfect!

  • I´m so bored with the usa

  • whos on drums btw?

  • kanal is a brilliant bassist

  • i think they coulda done better with the line up^^

  • its pretty bad, whats with the faux britsh accents? and i like how joe strummer openly detested "the boss's" music.

  • If they wanted to do a supergroup, here's what they shoulda had...

Dave Grohl- drums (he played drums in Nirvana and was influenced by punk music)

Matt Freeman (from Rancid)- bass cuz he's a sick bass player

Billie Joe (Green Day)- lead guitar

MICK JONES- rhythm guitar and lead vocals DUH!

That woulda been a lot better than this vid

  • there is a problem with you list though. Most of them don't have talent especially billie joe

  • The men that played in this video were contemporaries of Joe, they actually knew him.

  • Paul Simonon @ the bass

  • is that syl

  • i think it's great they did a tribute to Joe, but i agree with a lot of people in saying it pretty much sucks.

i mean, did i seriously see Tony from No Doubt?

why not use PUNK artists to do a tribute to a PUNK artist?

maybe they should be doing tributes to other people that they could musically relate to *ie Dave doing a tribute to Kurt or something* or something. i don't know, i just don't think that this should have made it onto the top Grammy performances ever a few months ago...

  • No Doubt's early music was actually heavily inluenced by The Clash

  • dave grohl was in scream, duh!!!! the greatest dc punk band besides minor threat!!!!!!

  • i actually like this tribute

    :)

and if you dont like why dont all make one

  • Joe .... we miss you so much!

  • its a tribute not a cover. dumbasses

  • ya...too much dope

  • oh god this is actually painful

    nice dedication to strummer though

love how half even put on the british accent

  • Elvis Costello (the one in glasses) is British

  • R. I .P. Joe Strummer you fucking ROCKED

  • SuburbanKidsUnited - I agree. They just piss all over this song.

  • beautiful trubute

  • Yes, because we all know that Elvis Costello, Bruce Springston, Dave Grohl and Steven Van Zandt are all hacks. Thanks for the insight.

  • tony kanal (no doubt) is doing the bass on this :)

  • what a dishonorable tribute, 4 hacks making tons of money playing the anti-song of another dead broke white man

  • he wasn't broke, the house he left was worth £1m alone

  • Did anyone think to include the living members of The Clash (ie - Jones, Simonon, Headon) to perform? How disappointing.

  • we don't know what the feeling is between those three but i would've been great to see

    who would sing?

  • @SuburbanKidsUnited ikr they could have had mick paul and topper with like tony james or somthing u know someone close to the clash

  • I like how it sounds like london calling was played through a tincan.

  • wild. insane. loved it. onstage chaos...an army of 4 (+2) advancing relentlessly. what's not to like. perfectly unperfect.

  • Little Steven should be shot for his hackery on the guitar solo, and Dave Grohl sounds so out-of-place there it isn't funny. Good turns by Bruce and Elvis, though.

  • come on then u bitch, il slap you everywhere

  • ownage
