I got all of them off but I accidentally soldered off one of the metal bases under it (the little squares of metal that hold the led) so the led does not light, but I know it works. What can I do? Use solder to replace it?

hi mate,

You know the LEDs pre-installed are 2 coloured, green for normal, then they turn red for the faults.

I have changed my LEDs to blue with 0603 SMD's, but how can i install other colours for the RROD lights?

so if my xbox does get red lights, a light will actually shine out and show ya?

my xbox keeps getting rrod every now and then and then works fine, but i cant never tell its got red lights, as the original lights have been removed.

There's another way to tell if you have a Matrix or CG controller.

Up by the Sync button, there will be either one chip on the board near the Sync button. Or there will be 2 chips, the same one by the Sync button and a second near the left analog stick (just down and to the left of the Sync chip). Some Matrix controllers do not have that crystal in the center of the board.

Check out BGRMods.com. They make the Intensafire mod, and explain how to tell the difference in this way.

you use the soldering iron to remove the solder around the led lights then they simply fall out of place

How do i solder back a led on the xbox 360 controller that has no solder left on the point?

On my controller, i was soldering blue leds and on the last one i had trouble because the soldering point had no solder left because it was with the stock (green) led. I tried putting solder back on and it wouldn't stick on the point. I have tried flux but that didn't work. What should i do that works? please help!!!!

@ lMrHAnkeyl, yes you have to solder it. The metal bind is what makes the lights work. If you try to hot glue it, it will not work.

Bjj72mma- bro just buy rechargeable batteries. Yes there are AA. I have the Energizer ones and they're around 20$ for 4 batteries and the charger. That way you can just recharge them instead of buying new ones

@tmush217 most unlikely because there are ohms wich slowdown power to certain parts of the controller ex: lights, so that comes from a 1.5 voltz battery(x2) and the xbox is usually house powered.
