  • hair dryer in intake for 10 minutes first makes starting easier

  • Have diesel engine. Don't have rest of genset. Do I see a DIESEL GO-KART in your future?!? :)

  • Get a Lister or a Petter diesel that Chinese thing sounds awful!!

  • and that is practice!

  • these China engines even have a balance cam driven by the camshaft1(NOT WORKING AS YOU SEE IN THE VIDEO!)

wonder that it runs anyway , never seen such bad made engines!, broken gears in engine, exploding balance cams, breaking valve springs , bad injectors etc etc.

  • diesel engines ALLWAYS starts!

  • awwww its a baby cummins!

  • Where do you get parts? I have etq genset with a motor like that has a strange knock every few revolutions thinking may be injector

  • Cool video! Btw where do yu get a motor like that

  • I am watching whis movie. And i am thinking. What am I doing?? its wendsday evening an i am watching how the chinesse diesel works? Its not good with me ;)

  • You are lucky that the starter motor didn't fail. Many of these starters only have a moulded commutator not a "built" commutator. IMHO moulded commutators are only suitable for light work. On one generator I fixed the commutator bars had lifted because of too much cranking. By the way the use of ether is a bad idea, instead try some heat. A glowplug or a CAV "Thermostart" would be a good idea (another old way is to raise the compression ratio with a teaspoonful of lubricating oil).

  • you wear the started out cause you didnt use some starting fluid, you got more money than brains

  • @mwhod using start pilot is even more destructive to your engine!!

just start, full throtle!, (when you look at the beginning of the start action you cant see any smoke , so no fuel is injected in the first rpm,s , , you can use some lube oil in the intake to increase compresion, and as result easier starting in cold conditions!(China crap or not , it wil start!)

  • @mwhod thats smart, using ether!, ITS NOT WISE TO USE START PILOT!!, it wil destroy your lubrication on the cilinder wall, worn out piston rings is wat you get!

  • china, building shit from inmemorial times!

  • You are starting it the wrong way, move pump lever to right then if you hold the de-compressor down as its spinning then release it they start much easier and don't knock hell out of the starter motor, running far too slow aswell!

  • 硅片舀姊匀$偃旗息鼓 so there.

  • I bet it can't go very fast with such tiny little wheels.... ;)

  • Will it start? Barely. WHAT a pile of shit.

  • what a junk

  • sweet!

  • put put put

  • what is it for?

  • i have a 418 china diesel which is quite okay, but i have heard a lot negative about the 465cc winsun engine(crank breakes) what kind of engine is this?

  • Forgot to add, your also missing the alternator and that acts as a flywheel making it far more stable. Keep throttle low and the moment it catches increase it up to 3600 RPM. If you keep it running this low RPM there is not even enough oil pressure and will damage the engine quickly.

  • The Yanmar diesel engine, that this one copys, is also used on waterpumps etc, and they don't have a different flywheel than this one, they also have a throttle adjuster were you can make it run low idle, and they don't sieze up!

  • @kiarra00 They sure will seize up. Remove the oil pressure sensor and measure it. You do not have enough oil pressure to lift the oil to the heads. Very simple, put a tube on it and lift it as high as the top of the engine and see the oil will never come out. Check your main bearings and try passing that same oil through a pin hole and see what happens. You can't run them under 500 RPM cold.

  • @auroraron who cares its one of those crappy chinese clone engine it will break soon anyways

  • @jacobdorp Not clones but yup we do have our own factory in China, USA and Canada. You looking for a job? We are expanding again..

  • @jacobdorp Actually,.... The engine design is from Yanmar and they are in Japan not China. There are no other North American manufactures of portable diesels. The trailer trash like to complain about made in China but can't afford the Made in USA.

  • @auroraron why would idling the engine sieze or damage the engine. Thats why they come with oil pumps and they have plenty of oil pressure at idle trust me i had an oil pressure gauge i put in the little hole next to the oil pump but you have to take the allen screw out they have about 50-60 psi at idle when warm

  • @propanemower13 The engine is designed to work at 3000-3600 RPM The oil pressure is about 40 psi at 2200 RPM it is around 25-30 psi 1000 RPM 15 PSI Try and lift oil in a small tube the size of a pencel lead or smaller up 1 foot to bearings or the cylinder head and you will see what I'm saying.

  • @auroraron that is not true any kind of oil pressure atleast its something will not make it seieze up and the tube is bigger/wider than a pencil led i have taken one a part b4. atleast its getting pressure or oil the pressure is not cause by the oil pump. pressure is caused by the clearances between the main bearing and the conecting rod bearing. the oil pumps delivers volume. not pressure. and if you run a good diesel oil like 15w-40 shell rotella t you will have good oil pressure.

  • @propanemower13 It is simple physics. Look at our parts store you can find the manual there for the original yanmar 186F engine. See for yourself what it is designed to do and what the specs are. I did not make them up. You don't see this engine in any application where it turns slowly. You have very small openings in bushings and bearings and without enough oil pressure it will never get lubricated. It will damage your engine. Go to Generators.to I'd be happy to discuss it on the forum.

  • @auroraron continued: and dont say you cant run 15w40 cause in the manuals in these things you can run up to 20w40. oil pressure is not what counts its that oil is getting to the main bearing and con rod bearing. the lower the oil pressure the bigger the clearences on the engines because the engine gets older there is more wear on these surfaces you dont know what ur talking about. and also why would they give you a throttle selector nob if you cant run it at low speeds that is entirely false!!!

  • @auroraron Uhuh... Cold diesel and 3600 RPM... You keep doing that a get back to me with how long your engine lasts. I don't care whether it be a Chinese imitation or a Cummins, it will cold seize. An alternator does not act as a flywheel, and even if it did have enough rotating mass to have any considerable effect, the belt would just slip every time it comes into play. If he could idle that engine down to 200 RPM it would still have oil pressure, it's not pushing the oil through a pin hole.

  • Is it a new one my dad just bought one on ebay and it has a glowplug. Are you positive theres no plug? Its by the decompress lever which you could have used by the way.

  • It doesen't have a glowplug! And I did use the decompress lever. Mine has a screw beside the decompress lever were I can put oil in for starting in the cold, but it doesen't help a lot.

  • the oil plunger is for priming i dont think it does anything to the compression

  • My parents used a water cooled China diesel to power their place for 10 years before they got the grid hooked up. I wonder what happened to that old thing?

  • nice cool vid 5 stars

  • look at my go cart vid i was thinkin of putting a diesel engine on it

  • i love the sound of this engine mate. :)

  • cool

  • some day ill find a small one to play around with lol

  • wish i had one for my tractor or go cart it would be nice plus my used motor oil would have another use

  • you're lucky it has an electric starter!!

  • Do you know what it came off of?

  • It used to be a generator

  • It burnt out then?

  • thanks for making a vid of this.

its a cold blooded little diesel isn't it, runs good though

    5*

  • Thanks for the video. 5 Stars

  • I like it!!!! :D I love cold starts where the engine just manages to start.

  • Sweet Kiarra00

  • i want a china diesel

  • Do those things have glow plugs or anything?

  • No glow plugs

  • it would probably start easyer with them
