I think this review was alittle biased. I mean, you praised the movie, but then gave it a bronze? This film is great, its one of those films that people will watch year after year in October. Not to sound rude, but I think you should get over what happened in the past. People do stupid and cruel things all the times. Don't be the Scrooge of Halloween, it just looks bad. Sure it has its paegan history, but so does Christmas and other holidays. So lighten up alittle.
Very professional and unbiased review, Fury. I actually did see this review when it first came out from you, but thought id watch it since i just watched Trick R Treat for the first time a couple days ago, and this is already one of my favorite horror films, and makes me love the holiday of Halloween even more, great job fury!
Christmas is not a pagan celebration, first of all it celebrates Jesus's birth you idiot, and the whole Santa thing that came later is based off of a old man who gave toys to the poor, do a bit of research before you start acting smart you idiot
uh, actually it did start off as a pagan celebration, in order for the vatican to keep people of that region happy, they let them continue to celebrate under the name of christmas. Dont get me wrong, today its about jesus, but that tradition wasn't started by christianity, it started with the pagans. You should do a little research yourself
Halloween is a pagan ritual to scare away bad spirits not to worship evil. May i remind people that Christmas is a pagan celebration of course it wasn't called Christmas then.
and even the goat like horned devil was taken from pagan mythology and manipulated some. though of course you can see symbols in Christianity that were inspired from paganism.
almost every holiday has pagan origins, my comment about people celebrating evil was touching on people who delve into the darker side of what Halloween has become to many. A day to lose it, so people who throw hard boiled eggs at kids faces, stick razors into candy bars and even randomly cut people in the face (which has happened here ) are celebrating evil.
@FuryoftheFilmFan You so know the razor in the apple BS is a myth right? There have only been like 3 counts of poison candy during halloween in the past 30 years. All these mythes and urban legends on halloween are largely BullShit. Do you honestly think its HALLOWEENS fault those people did what they did? Did the holiday make them do it? Were they possessed? I think not. They just used halloween as an excuse to harm. Thats not its fault.
??? i think you mean Tylermane77 i just agreed with you that "to many it has become something else" whether it to be an excuse to act bad, worship evil, want lots of candy, to party or whatever.
Halloween it's self is not evil originally as to what ppl do well thats another matter.
I hated this movie, watched it on Halloween with 7 friends (we all hated it and I got given shit for renting it) after some fuck yelled at us for letting off fireworks at 9pm
dude, you guys just don't have halloween spirit then. If your looking for something really scary then of course your going to be dissapointed. Its a halloween movie, not a scary movie
Hey Fury - you are like the Scrooge of Halloween ! I certainly understand your stance -I used to love getting dressed up, but I grew up in Leave It to Beaverland. I hate cities and the behavior that arises in such areas. But how does your son feel about it?
yeah, I just got into to work right now with everyone acting like a bunch of damn animals cuz it's Halloween.
my son only cares about the candy, eating candy isn't celebrating the holiday, it's those people who dress up for the sole purpose to do bad things and use the holiday as an excuse. No eggs and shaving cream is being sold in the city cuz kids lose their eyes from idiots who like to aim for the face like its some damn Yankee Tryout.
strange i thought this was gonna get a higher rating you were basicly setting it up for silver or gold as you were prasing it through out the review still good review ill be checking this out
well it's a bronze meaning its solid fun but I wouldn't see this movie again and it's pretty forgettable which made me keep it at bronze. Think of it as 2 1/2 stars out of 4.
while i can most definatley sympathize with your situation and opinion to an extent, i feel that it's a bit unfortunate that you let one bad experiance sully your look on a holiday (no matter how bad the experiance is) I apologize if you have a great list of problems with halloween and that's only one.
I don't know what i'm talking about, over in wales the holiday is minor at best. I guess i just get swept up in the mood an all. Me being a horror fan.
I don't think anyone mentioned the candy. By golly that is, to me, the whole point! My favorite thing to do is get a scary/monster/fantasy/something of the sort movie, buy plenty of candy corn and gummy bears and a nice pint of some beer I've never tried before and just relax and enjoy at night after everyone's asleep. It's too bad I still have to work on friday...
i go out on Halloween but you got Halloween wrong its not to celebrate evil it is to scare spirits away(legendary) on one night but i understand why you wont go out on halloween i would not if that happened to me but in the UK we dont celebrate halloween as much but we still go out
Well I don't give a half rat ass for halloween since I live in Peru, we got "el día de la canción criolla" instead, (to tell the true halloween is very popular here, even more that DDCC) but I don't give two fucks either, for me, is just an excuse to get the friends together and drink some beers with loud metal and some girls, and that's it, cool with the world. Everybody is happy.
I personally love Halloween. As a kid, trick or treating was a helluva lot of fun, and nowadays, I can sit back and be fascinated by all the creepy connotations. It's a night, and for me, a time of year to indulge in the darkest corners of mankind's imagination. I'll be renting Trick 'r Treat this year, along with the original Nightmare on Elm Street. You go ahead and be the grumpy old man, Fury, I'll be pumping the Marylin Manson and proudly wearing my Jason mask.
To be fair fury, it is new york city, and halloween, so maybe that's why the apartment tenants were afraid to let you guys in. But yeah it sucks. I remember halloween during my teenage years was not for fun, but to avoid gangs of kids with shaving cream, eggs, and the dreaded nair.
I loved this movie to death. For me if you love Halloween and Horror than this is an excellent film. Plus I love Halloween. My favorite time of the year! Guess I'm a freak for that type of stuff.
That's sad, even if you were kidding about hating halloween its not all bad, I'm surprised they didn't do something like that on devil night, It also surprises me that so far my childhood has been pretty benign, a lot of people seem to have attacked you from the stories you tell
There not really rules. Thou they kinda made them up. It just seems so out of place that you don't like it. But the story explains it all and i would not blame you. Say if you grew up where i grew up you would like halloween since there not as many snot nosed punks around.
However, I feel the opposite way about Halloween. It's pretty much my favorite holiday, for I've always enjoyed the fun festivities that surround it. That, and because I have a thing for the macabre and the supernatural. Always have and always will. :)

BOOO you stink for not liking the GREATEST holiday EVER!. Halloween or Sam Hain predates anyother holiday around so you really shouldnt let one bad experience ruin such a great day for you.
Thats the kind of statement that makes me want to unsub to you.
wahhhhh , when people say they wanna unsub me because of something so small and insignificant I feel like blocking them. You all obviously didn't get that the whole "hating halloween" thing went along why sam attacked my theater in the end.
Yeah, that was a cool way to end your video review, Fury! ;) Just goes to show that people who openly state that they dislike Halloween will get a horrorific visit from Sam. :P
Seriously, though, you should always be entitled to your opinion on any sort of subject no matter what.
I only have one point that I'm in agreement with the above comment you replied too. It's fine if you don't like halloween, but the reasons you give me the impression that your still hung up on that traumatic experiance. In all honesty, I don't think it's fair to judge an entire, normaly innocent, holiday on one bad experiance with assholes where you live.
I've always found it funny how people will unsubscribe if you don't follow their mind set. I lost quite a few subscribers when I gave Religulous a 9.5/10, but hey its dirt off of my shoulders I guess. I love Halloween and I feel this is one of the best horror movies to come out in a very long time, but that doesn't mean you should burn at the steak for feeling otherwise or poking fun of it. Some people are too dramatic over these things at times.
It is the internet yes I know. However just as he is free to say he dislikes Halloween, I am free to say he sucks for not liking Halloween.
Learning to share an opinion is something I know how to do, not something I HAVE to do. So call people all the names you want it doesnt make a difference. Because no one cares about you or what you say/think..
Well that's your OPINION isn't it? nobody caring what I have to say. Doesn't really matter because your behavior and moronic intolerant attitude is doing allll the work for me. The whole channel is based on sharing opinions, it's people like you who want to say crap like "i'll unsub" simply because you don't agree that are the real douches. it shows you just have the inability to share an opinion.
Obviously you care what I have to say. You took to heart my not liking this vid, got your panties in a bunch, called me all sorts of names, What ever.

If people wanna unsub then just do it, don't announce it as if trying to make some attempt at absolution. Good day sir. Blocked.
Although we share a similar opinion is this case, you should learn to take it down a notch. Let the convo get a little momentum before you unleash the beast, man
