I think this review was alittle biased. I mean, you praised the movie, but then gave it a bronze? This film is great, its one of those films that people will watch year after year in October. Not to sound rude, but I think you should get over what happened in the past. People do stupid and cruel things all the times. Don't be the Scrooge of Halloween, it just looks bad. Sure it has its paegan history, but so does Christmas and other holidays. So lighten up alittle.

I actually did see this review when it first came out from you, but thought id watch it since i just watched Trick R Treat for the first time a couple days ago, and this is already one of my favorite horror films, and makes me love the holiday of Halloween even more, great job fury!

uh, actually it did start off as a pagan celebration, in order for the vatican to keep people of that region happy, they let them continue to celebrate under the name of christmas. Dont get me wrong, today its about jesus, but that tradition wasn't started by christianity, it started with the pagans. You should do a little research yourself

almost every holiday has pagan origins, my comment about people celebrating evil was touching on people who delve into the darker side of what Halloween has become to many. A day to lose it, so people who throw hard boiled eggs at kids faces, stick razors into candy bars and even randomly cut people in the face (which has happened here ) are celebrating evil.

my son only cares about the candy, eating candy isn't celebrating the holiday, it's those people who dress up for the sole purpose to do bad things and use the holiday as an excuse. well it's a bronze meaning its solid fun but I wouldn't see this movie again and it's pretty forgettable which made me keep it at bronze. Think of it as 2 1/2 stars out of 4.

while i can most definatley sympathize with your situation and opinion to an extent, i feel that it's a bit unfortunate that you let one bad experiance sully your look on a holiday (no matter how bad the experiance is) I apologize if you have a great list of problems with halloween and that's only one.

I don't think anyone mentioned the candy. By golly that is, to me, the whole point! My favorite thing to do is get a scary/monster/fantasy/somethin­g of the sort movie, buy plenty of candy corn and gummy bears and a nice pint of some beer I've never tried before and just relax and enjoy at night after everyone's asleep. Well I don't give a half rat ass for halloween since I live in Peru, we got "el día de la canción criolla" instead, (to tell the true halloween is very popular here, even more that DDCC) but I don't give two fucks either, for me, is just an excuse to get the friends together and drink some beers with loud metal and some girls, and that's it, cool with the world. Everybody is happy.

I personally love Halloween. As a kid, trick or treating was a helluva lot of fun, and nowadays, I can sit back and be fascinated by all the creepy connotations. It's a night, and for me, a time of year to indulge in the darkest corners of mankind's imagination. I'll be renting Trick 'r Treat this year, along with the original Nightmare on Elm Street. You go ahead and be the grumpy old man, Fury, I'll be pumping the Marylin Manson and proudly wearing my Jason mask.

To be fair fury, it is new york city, and halloween, so maybe that's why the apartment tenants were afraid to let you guys in. But yeah it sucks. I remember halloween during my teenage years was not for fun, but to avoid gangs of kids with shaving cream, eggs, and the dreaded nair.

I've always found it funny how people will unsubscribe if you don't follow their mind set. Decent review, but I think your taking some things about halloween WAY to seriously and are hung up on some huge misconceptions. Realy, "a Holiday to celebrate evil" is something like what a fundamentalist christian would say. Like the ones in Jesus Camp.
