  • can a paintpot be a good base or will it crease?

  • even we putting UDPP on your lids before you used the cream shadow; did it crease throughout the day?

  • yes it did crease on me even with UDPP :(

A friend have less oily lid, and it did not crease on her using UDPP -but by it self, it creased on her badly.

  • MakeupbyTiffanyD has a video where she uses liquidlastliner as a base and it doesnt crease at all my lids are fairly oily and i have a heavy lid foil and i wore it no prob using ehr method check it out =)

  • Scary or funny? I´m not sure. But I definitely love your tips. ***** for you.

  • did the metalx eyeshadow dry out in your mac container?

since i heard some people saying it dried out.

  • I checked - mine looks fine so far

  • I love this video on how to apply cream shadows! I would suggest Revlon's Precious Metals, its only about 12$, it works great & doesn't crease!

  • Ha ha! Crease faster than linen.

  • What a great tip with the light bulb! I just bought Gold Spice & Virgin Silver yesterday and was testing it out thinking that it would go on smoothly...boy was I wrong. I can't wait to try the light bulb trick.

  • You are a genius. The only metal-x shadow I had a problem with was the 6th sin and now I think is was the temperature. The light bulb trick is genius. Thank you.

  • I got the Pure Ore today (it's sold out like everywhere in Asia and I had to get a friend to buy it in Singapore) and Im going to try to use the 252 for it, 'coz I've no idea where to get these doe brushes here in my country (I live in Malaysia). I hope the 252 works :(

  • what is the song that u use at the beginning os you vids?

  • its called Thrashing The Camp - from Disney's Tarzan.

  • sweetness!!

  • My husband, bless his heart, gifted me metal-x for Christmas and I have been playing with them all morning!

Thank you, if I did not use an eye primer, I would not be having any fun right now. =D

Cleaning up my eyes now, need to find a beautiful look for new year's eve party.

hope santa brought most of your wishlist.

  • Hi there

I've been lurking on YT for a while but was forced to register as a member 2day becos I specifically wanted to tell you how incredibly helpful and useful I find your vids!

I tried Pure Ore for the first time 2day and my brush jsut wasn;t cutting it so am gonna find the doe brush - or similar - if I can in London!

I look forward to ur future vids but also catching up on what I've missed from your previous vids!

    Keep it up : D

  • Can these be depotted and put into palettes like the regular eyeshadows???

  • No - they are big, like the size of cream color base. And they will dry out if they are not in their pots as they are cream-to-powder formula.

  • i bought this ENTIRE collection. i've been using my fingers, but i am RUNNING to michaels TODAY to get these deer footsies brushes. and don't ask me about MAC PRO store or i swear i'll slit my wrists. :0/

  • woohoo!! i got the brushes, koren! all on sale for $2, just like you said. i got 3 of the deer feetsies, 1 that looks exactly like a MAC angled blush brush, and 2 that look exactly like MAC 217. i might never buy another MAC brush again. :0)

  • woohoo! yeay for your Michales Haul! let me know how you like dthe brushes.

  • the doe feet craft brushes worked FANTASTIC!!! defintely better than any other normal makeup brush AND better than my finger!!! hooray..!!

  • u know i heard a lot about the collection being hard to use, and ididnt think anything of it, but yesterday i bought the metalblue, and i gotta tell you.. its a bitch to work with, i think your tips will help me out a lot! thanks Koren!

  • ROFL at creases faster than linen. so true! i wonder if you've tried using liquidlasts as a base for the metal-x shadows? i can't try it out cos i don't have liquidlasts, but i rmbr people complaining about how hard it is to get them off.

  • yeah thats like very hard to remove! I also tried fluidline in frost an dthat works good too.

  • Thank you so much!! I first used the 242 brush but it did not work well & so I just ended up using my fingers- but now I will go get a "doefoot" brush. Please do not ever stop making your very helpful videos! :)

  • UDPP is DIVINE! Btw, are paint brushes a cheaper alternative to make up brushes? Prob not, but If so... what brushes do you suggest?

  • hey Arashi - just watch my Paint Brushes vs MAC brushes video. And read the thread, to get other ideas that people got a Michaels.

  • Wow, that's so weird. I just did a youtube search LAST NIGHT about how to apply cream eyeshadow, and now here's yours. Once again, thank you so much!

  • What is the primer you use?

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion

  • I love your brush tips!!!!! I have been using the Fusion Gold with French Grey in the crease! My LE look!

I noticed that sometimes you get embarrassed (deerfoot doefoot!) in these videos...but its really how personable you are that makes them so great!!!!

  • Hey Koren! I've been using Painterly, then Metal-X and then I would use Amber Lights over the one you are using and it does not crease at all...even the Virgin Silver. It is so flippin hot here I skip the light bulb trick LOL!

  • hey Amelia - lucky! I wish Im in Florida right now!!

  • that's a good idea, to put a powder shadow on top

  • Koren I am SO glad you did a video for this!!

My friend recently bought me the MetalX creamshadow and I've been using my fingers for it but I'm so glad that there's a brush that works for it. Thank you!

  • Oh, also. I went to a MAC tips and tricks class a while back. One of the trainers said if your eyelids get oily throughout the day to apply powder to your eyebrows because that's where the oil is coming from.

  • that's a good tip I'll remember that

  • cool! I always do it, just a bit a of powder on the eyebrows before I start my eyes. I never have a problem with oily eyelids.

  • THANK YOU! A MILLION TIMES THANK YOU!

as for the paint brushes, can I use my MAC brush cleaner on them?

    Thanks again

    -Heather

  • hey heather - yes you can use MAC brush cleaner on the paint brushes.

  • haha it's going to crease..faster then linen. i LOVE you videos!

  • I have very oily(to oily)lids!! what I do to prevent from creasing is I use UDPP then top that with anykind of paintpot(depend what color u want to use..I usually use barestudy)then apply the MetalX e/s and blend it with other e/s..it works great and it doesnt crease at all and the color is very vibrant

  • yeay! thanks for that tip sweet victoria!

  • One more thing..another trick that I do is I spray a little bit of fix+ in the brush either the 242 or 217 brush and I can scoope or get the product easily like using a regular eyeshadow, it glides perfectly when I put it in my eyelids:-) Hope this one helps!

  • Hey Koren!

Love the video & I'm going out to get my collection of Metal X tmrw ;D

I loved your tip on the starting of the product from the rim to center! Really we don't realise these small tricks until told my the GURU himself (you of course) :D

Well thanks a million & can't wait till your next video.

    Hugs from England

  • i luv my English hugs! hugs back at ya bullybass!

  • I returned it to MAC. Was very disappointed with the creasing and the consistency.

  • Gosh! you're a genius!! Some producers or networks needs to put their hands on this golden nugget =)

  • Wonderful!!!

You know they have totally sold out in the UK, everywhere. But yeah I am not looking forward to the creasing..

  • Koren! I went to Michaels the other day and I bought a Loew Cornell 270 Maxine's Mop 1/2, and it's exactly like the 227 brush, but it's a white fur (?). It was about 4 - 6 dollars. Yayy! (:

  • yay!!! and isnt it just as soft? I heart Maxinnes Mops.

  • Me too! But I couldn't find a L-C powder brush that you said! The XXL one, they didn't have any! ): But I found another great one, and it's just as soft! It's called 3 Winsor & Newton series 240. (:

  • i have the crease contour brush from Prestige, and it looks just like those doe-foot brushes you have. i wonder if they'll work great with the cream shadows... only one way to find out. :-) thanks for yet another great vid, koren!

  • definitely try it harkaitza! and let me know how it worked.

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, but can you tell us if you're just blessed with gorgeous white teeth or do you use a whitener? If you do, what whitener do you use?

That Metal X color looks like it was just made for your lids!

  • hey Purrrr - hehe Igot asked that so many times, specially in my LIPLINING video. Luckily, my whole family have natural white teeth, so I never had to use whiteners.

  • what color is this ? is this the most gold color that comes?

  • i think it's Pure Ore

  • oh wait, he just said gold spice. LOL

  • Yeah its GOLDSPICE, basically, it's Amber Lights in creamshadow.

  • I love these eye shadows, I got the purple one and it was kind of hard to get on at first. I am going to go get the pink one today after seeing this video. It does make sense that they have to be warmed up. Thanks for the info! =]

  • thank you so much! Did you find that it creases even with the primer? I have oily eyelids and I tend to veer away from cream shadows.

thanks again and have a great day.

  • I was wondering that too. Can you add to this vid. like a review or just say if it crease a lot with or without a primer. Do you recommend buying this product?

  • hey Myrna - it does not crease as much with primer. But to those who doesnt use primer, it will crease, and therefore in the vid, I highly recommend primer.

  • Encore I have tried the Metal-X Collection and I love it! Thank you for the tips I know where to go!!! YOur MARVELOUS=) DARLING!

  • Enkore, SERIOUSLY--I LOVE ALL your videos. My god. I had originally dismissed these even after buying and returning (though it barely creased), but now I have three on the way b/c I tried them again and did a good base which limited the creasing. Thanks again!!

  • Encore you're my angel!! You'll tell the truth about the product, and that's great! I always hear that metalXare great but my lids are oily and I have the heavy lids like you have and I'll avoid them!

  • you're so amazing!

  • You're so funny, and thanks for another great video Koren! :)

  • Thank you for the tips, Koren!

  • Aaaarrrhh!! (Now that I've done my pirate impression...) I'm so torn about getting these. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the swatches that I've seen of them and would love to play with them, but at the same time, I don't want to get them cause of the creasing. :( Decisions, decisions! Thanks for posting this though. I think you've made it that much harder for me to say no. lol. :)

  • Im in love with the silver one. I have a heater in my bathroom that warms up the room a bit so its not too bad!

  • i got the silver one too, and i tried my fingers and brushes i even warmed up my cheep brushes to see if it would work and it jsut doesnt work any way!

I think the best thing about this collection is the glitter liners i LOVE the purple/pink one!!

    xx
