lol, everyone has to know how to drink and smoke while plying a double bass, first step to being a pro! Thank you for posting all of these videos of you learning to play double bass they are quite entertaining, you make it look like great fun. BTW your apartment is very white, it might be good to get some color in there unless you like it that way.

One comment was that your left elbow hangs low in first position, implying that that was wrong. I think that this is an advantage in letting the weight of your arm help hold down the string. It also makes a direct, relaxed line which alligns the finger tips with the string without twisting the forearm. These seem to be two great advantages.

LOVING these video's! You seem to be picking this up so fast, it makes me wanna go out and buy an upright bass right away!

It 's worth putting some time and consideration into your right-hand technique. Every upright bassist plucks differently but I find it useful to point my fingers downward more and pluck with the meaty side part of my index finger. During fast passages I like to do the same thing with my middle finger and do a two-finger plucking rotation. I also see a lot of bassists pluck with both fingers at the same time. Plucking further from the bridge changes tone and playability a lot too.

@dudemanplus Agreed. Unless you're playing a more classical style pizzicato, for which you want that guitar-like, sweeter, sound.

I wish had gotten the opportunity to try a upright at the music-class but unfortunate(fortunate) it was down at service at the MC
