lol, everyone has to know how to drink and smoke while plying a double bass, first step to being a pro! Thank you for posting all of these videos of you learning to play double bass they are quite entertaining, you make it look like great fun. BTW your apartment is very white, it might be good to get some color in there unless you like it that way.
One comment was that your left elbow hangs low in first position, implying that that was wrong. I think that this is an advantage in letting the weight of your arm help hold down the string. It also makes a direct, relaxed line which alligns the finger tips with the string without twisting the forearm. These seem to be two great advantages.
beautiful bass =) would love to try one of those some day. They are quite expensive tho? Youre home is very copenhagenish marlowe ;) white, oh so white! greetings from rødovre.
It 's worth putting some time and consideration into your right-hand technique. Every upright bassist plucks differently but I find it useful to point my fingers downward more and pluck with the meaty side part of my index finger. During fast passages I like to do the same thing with my middle finger and do a two-finger plucking rotation. I also see a lot of bassists pluck with both fingers at the same time. Plucking further from the bridge changes tone and playability a lot too.
What part of Germany do you live in? I am studying in Germany this semester and would love to see you play live if you aren't too far away (I can take almost any train in Hessen for free).
@MarloweDK Oops. I only remembered that you were from Denmark after I posted that. At the time I didn't realize you could delete comments. Although, your accent sounds very different from the last guy from Copenhagen I met.

@DarkBeef197 All the color comes from the basses lying around his apartment.

How can you just pick up aupright and be able to sound awesome on it haha I hate you! Just messing. Well worth the swap for the Warwick??

@ruaridouglas Never got to be friends with the Warwick so YES

@MarloweDK While on the subject of the Warwick, what did you find disagreeable with it?

@hahabass Didnt like the "plinkety plonk" slap sound and i never got used to the long neck - it sound good for fingerstyle though

@dudemanplus Thx ill remember that (thats the least of my problems lol)

@dudemanplus Agreed. Unless you're playing a more classical style pizzicato, for which you want that guitar-like, sweeter, sound.

I've never played an upright before but it looks interesting... and difficult.

I wish had gotten the opportunity to try a upright at the music-class but unfortunate(fortunate) it was down at service at the MC
the natural-sound that it produce makes my shivers
