The lyrics to Clampdown cant be sung, they must be shouted. Strummers method gave the song BALLS..and sounded authentic ie Judge says 5 to 10 ...etc. The Strokes like other bands are good, however most of the covers of real Punk bands which are attempted sound completely lame. SING AS IF YOU MEAN IT!!

the clash were a very good band, but noone would ever try to sing like their vocalist did... he was distinctive cause he was so bad. its like how bob dylan songs sound so genuine when he sings them. frankly the clash seemed a little effete, don't blame julian for being drunk and masculine
