Well the sheer articulation of your sentnece in vulagrity deems that I not reply to your comment, but anyway I will. Kakkkaface, I guess you are either not a tabla player and even if you are you have been deprived of what tabla really is. You've ever seen Nayan Gosh or Swapan Choudry to name a few? That is what tabla is. You can piss on the wall and make a nice design and call it art. I guess that's what you think art is.
Yes you might be a tabla player, just like your guru Suresh, but do just recite or do you also play? Thank God Suresh Ji left regular solo tabla playing for all the other mere mortals.
I feel it's unfortunate to read such vulgarities on these pages. Must we judge and compare these great Gurus? And if we must, can't we do it in a civil way? Just out of respect for these great artists who put all their heart into sharing their music with us. Or even just out of respect for ourselves and for the lowly tabla students like me who enjoy these clips so much? Commentary like this is unworthy of humanity, can't we save it for discussion of politicians? Truly, Namaste all.
There is diiference between styles. Most artists are showmen, there are artists like PIandit Suresh Talwalkar, Ustad Raufuddin Sabri, Ustad Sarwar Sabri and Akram Khan, who are true musicians. Keep your comments to urself.
I saw this guy in Bombay and the great thing is he needs a couple of tabla players in the background to perform.I'l like to hear two bols from a hand rather than hear 100 bols being recited.Rather entertaining but cannot be called art.
