el cell que usan las fuerzas armadas es distinto al que usa el ps3, el cell del ps3 esta bastante recortado como ejemplo le eliminaron la unidad de procesamiento fuera de orden por lo que para manejar datos de gran volumen no sirve de mucho, ademas los juegos no se basan en cpu sino que en gpu donde el ps3 cuenta con el gpu RSX (7800GTX) y la xbox360 con una x1900XT con shaders unificados

An another point, the console is designed for games, Windows(which I bet you play games on) wouldn't cope on the PS3's hardware.
the core I7s that just came out (which is mainstream processors not pro stuff) would kill the cell. the cell isnt 7 cores. one core (the main cpu) and 7 stream processors (SPEs) which are not cores. the difference between SPE and a core is big. spe only handle certain specific data while a core handles any and all data like a regular CPU. for "example" if the cell was trying to manage classes one spe would handle math and another something else while a pc core would hand more than 1 each core.
It was designed that way to better preform for games...
And btw, even 64bit versions of Windows will only distribute no more than 2 cores per application, and Only if they are designed as 64bit.
The PS3's games will All be built with multicore in mind. More cores don't mean power, but when programs are designed to use more then yes their better. PCs can be faster with more cores, but you might as well built a Beowulf cluster for a PC. Price anyone?

The cell processor is the ball and chain of the ps3. sony sold out their share of the cell production, cell is not going to be used commercially. Meaning, less people can master the code for it. Meaning, games will take longer to develop for. Orange Box on ps3, it came out about two months late and its the worst of all the versions in regards to framerate.
Cell is good for in-house developers or big-budget devs.
i know why he said it about a week ago the crysis develpers company posted on the website that they where looking for a ps3 coder so mabey there working on it.

i agree with the 360 thing, seeing as all the previous far crys have in some form or another appeared on either the 360 or the original xbox. one appeared on the wii aswell though.

asif the 360 could run this...an 8800gtx is $800...a 360 is what? $500 or less?...and an 8800gtx runs with xp, and everything on max at 21-25fps...crysis wont be ported...its not like other games..too advanced

look dude im not as stupid as some fanboys. when the xbox got a 'version' of far cry it was vastly cut down, and had a totally different game design and storyline.
besides, they can optimise code for one piece of hardware instead of a million different combinations, and as every gamer knows the machines are worth more than shelf price. manufacturers always sell at a loss. except for the wii.

The cell processor is the ball and chain of the ps3. sony sold out their share of the cell production, cell is not going to be used commercially. Meaning, less people can master the code for it. Meaning, games will take longer to develop for. Orange Box on ps3, it came out about two months late and its the worst of all the versions in regards to framerate.
Cell is good for in-house developers or big-budget devs.

ababui you actually believe that? ¬_¬ your so gulable.....so what if its faster, it'll take game developers hell of alot of more time to makes games for the ps3 then the pc/360 because of its complex cpu(from what ive heard it has around 6 cores) meaning it'll cost them a hell of alot of money for the ps3 when they can get the same looking games for the pc/360 but cheaper to produce, think about it, sure its powerful, but its too powerfull for the current generation.
