You're right. It should work the same way in Pc and Mac but I guess this has to do with the text editor plugin.

Thanks for pointing that out. The more options button - also called the 'Show/Hide Advanced Toolbar' button - and the Advanced Toolbar itself - are new features in version 2.3 of WordPress.

I did not add any plugins for this. Can you see the Visual text editing window or just the code window? Windows/Mac? Firefox?
