I'm not an expert on Indian history but look for info on the battle of Rajasthan. That's when the Rajputs defeated the Arabs (the first major Islamic invasion into India proper) so soundly that there was no further invasion for almost three hundred years. Also look for info on Bhappa Rawal the legendary Rajput warrior after whom Rawalpindi is named.

ok look, the mughals invaded india and took over the whole country, and the british empire took over the country for another 300 years after.

i know india has so many different kinds of warriors, but i think they only win fights against each other, and india has a history of being at the mercy to foreigners

india never fully succumed to islam like the mongols, persians, afghans, arabs, middle easterners, turkics etc. the reason why india prevent complete muslim rule was due to revolt. Also, hindus defeated vastly larger muslim armies in the 1700's, thus liberating most of india before the arrival of the brits. brits had better weapons and were united, thats why they prevailed.

as for china...they were pillaged by the mogols, japanese, and european powers for centuries...

Also Islam never conquered all of India either. Tamil Nadu and Nepal were some of the places on the indian subcontinent that never fell to Islamic invaders. the Brits were able to conquer for two reasons:

1. lack of Indian unity

2. Weakened Indian Kingdoms after centuries of conflict with Mughals and Sultanates.

they didnt win any wars meaning that they didnt win when islam came or british came. and both of these times were when india could be easily manipulated and conquered due to the fact that it wasn't united. otherwise, india used to stretch from afghanistan and was a regional power up to indonesia and thailand. and they won against pakistan lol. you have to look at the entire history of india. who do you think pushed back alexander the great

no(not sure) if my memory is correct, then it was some random kingdom or rajput or something. This is what i have learned- alexander was pushing into northwest india, where he defeated some minor kings there. However his army, that already sustained heavy damage from the outskirt army, refused to go deeper due to the fact that deeper into india where the real massive armies were. there is also SOME evidence that alexander died from a poison arrow from india (i did a report on him in high school)

Alexander turned back because his army got a thrashing in the war with Puru (Porus). Alexander may have actually lost that war but our knowledge of that event is taken purely from Greek sources which claim he won. Porus was a small power compared to the Magadhan empire further east. That is what scared the greek army.

Yea that is definitely true that India was able to keep its culture. but i dont think that "they were sent back" because there are still a shitload of muslims in india, and if you count pakistan and bangladesh, which are considered greater indian subcontinent, theres about I'd say 450 million muslims. It's not as bad as in the other countries that got overtaken (99%) by islam though.
