  • The same year a great musican passed away, another rised. R.I.P. Stevie & Layne.

  • words cant describe how this song makes me feel no other band/musician can touch my soul like aic music rip beautiful soul layne staley

  • @MsJilsephonie I agreen totally!

  • We're all sick fucks, but only rockers have the guts to admit it!

    R.I.P Layne!

  • Is there a behind the music for AIC.

  • @diskeywick

I don't think so. Just a behind the music "grunge"

  • This is my favorite tune from them..Lane's voice here superb!!! Can't touch this..

  • alice in chains > nirvana

  • @necropiti The two are both unique and epic in their own ways and far too different. Don't try to compare them.

  • how did this man pass away? he is not human...

  • UUP HIIIILLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is music

  • one of the greatest songs ever, couldn't relate more.

  • "such a warm welcome, don't you have anything better to do?"

  • Possibly the greatest performance ever.

  • AIC > all

  • we can all have our own opinions

  • Im glad to say I was born in the early 90s. RIP layne

  • Que bella canción a la vez que triste tambien.

  • @kaptinstabbin going back in time: "like the coldest winters chill, heaven beside you, hell within" Such a warm and relaxing song, genious, and they have that heavy part witching on and off in the song

"Every day it's something hits me all so cold, find me sitting by myself, no excuses then i know" another warm happy, relaxing chorus

but in those same 2 albums of those 2 songs, were such diverse songs aside from them.

Like Again, and Rotten Apple or nutshell. AIC's contrast is severe

  • His voice..what a potential!! freaking awesome song, it's heartrending!!

  • what a great way to bring in the 90's:)

  • this performance was ace

    raw emotions

you couldn't sing it any better than Layne did, fucking brilliant and the whole band was incredible

  • UPHILL!!! Good answer. HAhaha Layne was so awesome!

  • wonder if he could yell like tat every day

  • Simply amazing...

  • @kaptinstabbin a-fuckin-men

  • What the fuck happened to rock man... amazing video

  • I'm 36 years old now, a wife for the last 13 years and a mother of 4, PTA and everything. You wouldn't know it to look at me today, but I was the biggest AiC fan back in high school. Whenever I'm feeling nostalgic, I play this song. This is as pure to pain you can get. So raw, pure emotion. No one makes music like this anymore. Layne took it with him.

  • @Mara19802 i was wondering what happened to all the real rocker chicks back in the day.. i shouldve geussed yall found more motivating people and stated familys..lmao

  • @rainbolt1982 Dude, we're still around! We just rock out with the kids now. AiC might be a little hard for the kids, lyrics wise, but we like other stuff. I love Muse, so we jam to that sometimes.

  • @Mara19802 Thank you...lol...just because we are older and raising kids, doesnt mean we arent still rocker chicks...

  • @Mara19802 could not agree with you more on, that this song is pure pain and there isnt any music like this today

  • @Mara19802 im 13, but i showed AIC to my mom. My mom was (and still is) and extremely lighthearted and preppy person, but she sees that dakness and obscurity in AIC. She listens to all today's pop and 80s pop, all the stuff she was a kid, but she listens to AIC

it just shows how universal this music is if you can feel it, and it varies to relate to everyone.

People these days, especially my age, just don't take the time to try it. But it's well worth it

  • @Mara19802 You are so right , nothing but raw pure emotion bleed the freak was the song before this one tape, i would play it over and over, nobody will ever sound as great as Layne Staley!

  • @Mara19802 You don´ta have to forget that AiC is not only Layne, is unfair for Jerry, the two Mikes and Sean

  • @Mara19802 Mara, Im in love with you.

Warms my soul to know people dont forget this band, and such an amazing song. Definately one of a kind.

Im 20. A 90s kid, and i would give anything to bring this music back, and as a drummer, its one of my goals.

Keep it alive, and take care

  • so raw... so alice in chains... so layne... R.I.P.

  • Wow look how young they all look, and Layne looks heathly, well better then what he did...RIP Layne...

  • seattle never will be again the town that was without layne...

  • damn.. watching this video and then watching the mtv unppluged just hurts my heart..

    RIP layne

  • i felt so sad when i read excerpts from his final interview. to be such a powerful musician must one be so deep in in addiction and depression? these were the days before he gave in. he is and will continue to be the greatest singer i have ever heard. we miss you Layne

  • 20 years...can't believe its been that long

  • @X7NIRVANA7X funny. I just thought the EXACT same thing.

  • That was incredible! Proberly the finest vocal performance ive ever seen.

  • R.I.P. BRO ! AL

  • WITHOUT HIM IT ENDED ! AL

  • THEY JUST RULED ! ALZ

  • beautiful from beginning to end! how much more perfect could AIC be here?

so much sadness & anger in each precious moment.

    Layne is perfect.

And AIC is NOT Jerry's band & never was. Even Sean said they would never go on as AIC without Layne. He said if they go on, they would change the name. As they obviously should!! This new album is supposed to be a one-time tribute to Layne.

  • Laynes #2 best performnace

    Nutshell unplugged is #1

  • @thestick169 totally agree nutshell unplugged is the most beautiful thing i ever heard in my life

  • Talk about goosebumps

  • normally I hate these kind of endings on a song but this one is too badass

  • it is jerrys band but new aic sounds nothing like the old. it no longer has that voice and charisma. like take this song for example. who else could sing this song so passionately. NO ONE BUT LAYNE

  • I completely agree with you !

  • Jerry is cool in his own right but bringing back the name AIC was kinda lame I think Alice in chains died with layne, and this new lead singer is ok but he is far from layne...like far far far

  • totally agree bro

  • Oh Layne...song about pain...

  • well i gotta say i love seether. and seether loved AIC. seether has a good bit of heart in music. good lyrics. good stuff. and they have different sounds. staind keeps tha same sound, but i love them cause of tha lyrics. but yea, thats about it for todays bands. tha rest is pop rap crap mixed with a lil hoe with bling bling so we can pimp it with a white t.... or what ever tha fuck those fuckers say

  • I actually like seether alot ive seen them live 6 times it just seems like every cd they release is kinda the same. Nickleback and staind are the two worst "rock" bands out right now in my opinion.

  • Layne Staley will always live!!!!!

  • Yea, Layne was at his best here. It was short lived though. He stated to burn out shorlty after this.

  • great song.......

  • I would like to make a comment,I believe that Jerry Cantrell holds this bands publishing rights and most songs were written by him but on the other hand this new band is not Alice in Chains without Layne Staley . The should have respected the bands legacy by performing their hits but their with another name that just my opinion.

  • ever think its a homage to layne??

  • some of the new material was written when Layne was still alive.AIC, IS Jerry's band. but as usual, people assume the singer was the leader. Not true.

  • Love this song!!!! Love Lane.. The good ones always die young!

  • Layne is the coolest man Ive ever not met

  • la raaaaaja el tema!!!!!!

  • what a sad loss .. what an Amazing performer and vocalist he was , truely epic .

  • god damn I still can't believe how fukin awesome and powerful his voice is throughout this show. I mean it was always awesome and powerful but this show in particular was just fukin astounding.

  • Not just this show...any of his shows around the time frame of 1990-early1992.

  • GOD DAMN that was so fucking epic!

  • listen to laynes vioce at exactly

    3:45

    talk about power

  • Wow... this is awesome

  • Love the reverb on the snare!

  • @ultimateinfinite i tune mine just like it :)

  • teh pwnses XD

  • this song would have been great in unplugged.

  • anyone know if this show available on dvd?

  • I think so, yeah.

  • VHS, sadly

  • Wow, I wish I was there in the front row to witness their awesomeness in this video!

  • Great song, great band. It's not really my style, but this is awesome!

  • Wow, amazing quality video, thanks!!!

  • totally agree, this is one of my favorite songs from AIC. I love how toatlly real Staley's voice is throughout all their songs and concerts. Definitely my favorite band of the era.

  • I have no idea why there aren't more views/comments on this video... it's like the best EVER!

  • I think this is the best song from this band =)I think that concert was great....
