at the same time the socalled Christian societies have many problems - also here in Switzerland. But the problems are always where the teachings of Christ or the Ten Commandments are disobeyed! All cultures have positive and negative things, since they are like people - good AND bad. There is a need for guidance and phramework which give absolute right and wrong. This is where the Bible comes in: Man and Woman created in Gods image. Right and wrong explained. Meaning for life given. Wake up!

Alex you cant have watched the whole series. or know much about Islam or Christianity. Look at the countries who are Islamic - where is their welfare, their inventions (cars ++), freedom of speech and so on? Not there. Now look at the countries which have looked to the Judeo Christian worldview for values and laws. They have flourished - South Korea, Switzerland, Norway - even Japan though not Christian, they have use Christian work ethics learned from missionaries. Look around you man. please.

@AlexanderRozhenko: Why exactly is fundamentalist Islam less desirable than fundamentalist Christianity? They're both terrible options. I'd rather our society collapse than continue on as a fundamentalist Christian civilization that wouldn't, in fact, be able to protect against cruel despots or tyranny based solely on biblical scriptures as Dr. Schaeffer or the fundamentalist movement would like to believe.

Can a person really create their own meaning if granted the freedom to do so? I don't know but I do know that if a person fails to find meaning in the Christian bible or Jesus' teachings, they should certainly be free to seek their personal meaning elsewhere. Im afraid that if either Islam or Christianity were to gain power, such freedom would become nonexistent.

This is amazing and prophetic. I am personally agnostic, but I recognize the importance of Christianity to Western Civilization. It is the bedrock on which everything we see is built. As the Christian faith has declined, the basis of Western Civilization is changing to secular/humanist beliefs, and the entire system is collapsing. Which civilization is on the rise and will replace us? The fundamentalist religion of Islam. It will be the majority religion in Europe and the U.S. within a century.
