The flower farms should pay their workers a better pay, by the way those flowers are so expensive in Europe, I hope some one will hear the cry of the workers, I feel sorry for the workers, they earn so little working for so many hours. Atwoli should look into this matter ASAP.
Why dont you expose the owners & politicians involved in this industry. Known fact Kenyatta family, moi family are in this industry. the profit margins do not reflect the slavery these people are using. Where is Uhuru Kenyatta to act all righteous about economical reform when his family is involved in this business, let see if he can support any policy to guarantee better standards for these poor people.
High profile ministers, mp's, the Kenyatta family, moi family are the ones benefitting from these flower farms, they are the ones enslaving their own people for bigger profits. Biggest land owners ever since independence has been Kenyatta's cronies & moi's cronies. it's the same for coffee & tea. what has happened in many african states since the exiting of mzungu has been black on black exploitation by the ruling elite. until we fully understand that all men are born equal we will never prosper
these flower farms pollute our environment and have no patent, no damned European knows that these flowers come from Kenya, the same story goes to Kenya coffee! shame
Shame on YOU and I... WE ARE THE CHANGE that we look for.. BUT WE HIDE in our cocoons... waiting for Kibaki who is asleep in State House; and for Raila who is crying for a toilet and carpet...
Well said, I think it's very clear that our government lacks a sense of patriotism. These folks talk too much but when they get to the govt that's when sleeping begins and what they worry about is themselves and cronies..sad but true. We really need to have a govt accountability dept or if it's active we need to have more proactive people in there..this is just a very small issue there are very many issues that if exposed..????
OMG!No cloves even with the killing they make in Europe?Do you know that this flowers are labelled other countries once they get to Europe??Where is the wide mouth Atwoli? There must b ways to address this injustices.

can u be clear, the clip is about wanainchi workin for peanuts under undesirable conditions and u ask who owns these plantations DOES IT MATTER I WOULDNT MIND IF THE OWNER IS BLK or WHITE OR BOTH as long as he payshis workers a reasonable wage.

@mwendapolee & topnotch585 I have a challenge for you both (and for anyone else who wants to share their thoughts)
Watch this video again and then think about the issue I raised in my question. Try and conceive of a reason why it it is relevant (or important?).
I'll give you a hint, it's neither about workers' rights (which I already addressed) nor about race.

The main forex earners for Africa are mining, agriculture and tourism (MAT).
Nations are built by enterprise (not by politicians) so who CONTROLS MAT matters as does the way/where profits are re-invested.
An additional point is that according to this report, Kenya's tourism industry has been surpassed by horticulture.

Kudos NTV for this report. There are many industries with workers in the same predicament so well done for giving a voice to the voiceless
