Like StriderGTS said... Until you eat some of the slush i will never change my opinion that it is sodium acetate. If this would be water, the bottle at 1:27 the ice would rise much more and the bottle would bolge more, even it would explode. When it freezes from the top, wich is the case in your video, the unfrozen water in the lower bottle hasnt enough space to expand wich would tear the bottle into pieces.

this can be water . it's not freezing because he is pouring it ! if he would just touch the ice or drop a peace into the bottel than it would freeze . and if it would be acetate like you say it would be more viscous than pure water !
