It would've been great to have the opportunity to meet Kurt and talk a little. I can honestly say, in spite of the fact that what I listen to now is for the most part progressive rock and metal and alternative hip hop, Cobain still influenced me more as a musician than anyone else, bar none. I can already infer what he's all about based on his interviews and music, but I would've loved to understand the full extent of his philosophy. He seemed like a thoughtful, honest, wonderful guy.
Yeah. I think the Roger Taylor he's screaming about isn't the drummer in Queen but the drummer in Duran Duran. Must be reference to one the show's hosts Amanda de Cadinet going out with him. He's actually wrong as it wasn't Roger Taylor she was seeing but 'John' Taylor who was the bass player.
"kicking it up good style" screw that guy, he hated nirvana at the time.
i could be misinformed about this, but i believe roger taylor was someone working on the show (think hes in the credits) who did something for kurt (not sure what) and in return kurt name checked him at the end of the song.
@dropd26 krist novelselic played some of their tracks on one of the shows he does on community coast radio, Krist is so cool, I follow him on twitter and youtube, though i really like his articles on music and ideologies and politics , but the politics are a little boring lol
@godwhyisthistaken Roger Taylor was in the audience and had been talking to Kurt just before they performed. He asked Kurt to say 'Hi' to him when he was on stage.
@dcom123 are you serious? that is fucking awsome. totally cool, Kurt knew Roger Taylor. Man two musicians I respect so much. This history of Nirvana never seize to enlighten me.
@dcom123 OHH you lol. Roger Taylor... grr lol man well at least they mention queen at the unplugged show, and the suicide letter. and there were in the audience during the mtv awards in 1992. lol.

any1 know y he says "tribe" instead of gruop in the 2nd verse?
popcornstand39 2 years ago
i think that was the original idea for the song so he may have just alternated...it's just a sPeculation though.
hungryhippos41 2 years ago
tribe and group kind of mean the same thing
and Kurt red a ton of books when he was little
oh and the reason why people cant understand some of the lyrics is cause Kurt had a big vocabulary
LilC2012 2 years ago 3
no, its because they're indecipherable, not because he's well read you moron.
jgreenwood99 2 years ago
im pretty sure its cause he knew a lot of words...
u can tell cause in all of his interviews he uses big words.....there's no need to call me a moron,

whys he saying roger taylor??
godwhyisthistaken 2 years ago
I think he`s saying Robert Taylor, not roger. If he is saying roger taylor maybe that`s in reference to the drummer of Queen.
dropd26 2 years ago
but why mention him?
razlindez 2 years ago
More than likely out of randomness because it fit that part of the song or maybe he was just referencing Queen because he was a fan.
