damn... i'd rather listen to Ice Ice Baby. Rollins was the best part of the video. Funny how they mention looping a sample when the whole damn song is just one tired Peter gabriel sample. wack.
@lascrud The Peter Gabriel sample is meant to parody the Queen sample that Ice Ice Baby ripped off. It's part of the same criticism, not counter to it.
Whatever....this is when Hip-Hop was HIP-HOP!!! Back then, when you had catz like EPMD's Erick Sermon & Q-Tip in your video, all that other BS went out the window!! I tell you this; think back to 91-92 when this was out & think about what happened when this joint was played at a party or the club.....
Well, we have a fat, four-eyed honky hooking up with a guy I think was in "Color Me Bad" trying to act like they are some freakin' ghetto thugs and intimidate people. Oooh - they are so scary! People like this were signs that America had gone to hell! Ugly monsters spewing garbage all the while thinking they were so freaking cool and hip. An unflushed toilet that Rerun from "What's Happening" filled has more talent than these bafoons.
@movrinoscopy yeah, you are right, they are legends. Such gifted musicians (oh, I forgot they don't play any instruments) and lyricists (oops, well a class of retarded 3rd graders could write better lyrics than this fat duo). But you are right - they rule! Honky heffers would be murdered the second they shuffled into the hood. It would take an elephant gun to take those monsters down, but they would probably be shot 800 times, stabbed 7,000 times then eaten by the Occupy Wall Street mob.
@redletter2008 ya right, this shit was HARD for its time! These guys, unlike Vanilla Ice (who has since admitted that his record label made him into a puppet marketing scheme, & has redeemed himself & become real again)... these guys were real, & just being true & a product of their environment. They were like all the dope-ill underground shit of today like Pete Rock, scolding fake niggaz for wearin gold chains & rappin about $ & putting out FAKE RECORDS!! These guys were actually for real!
Kreepnasty wants war. He/she believes his on lies. Kreepnasty is probably stalking someone else. Kreepnasty is that loser, clown who has convinces himself that his opinions matter to someone other, than himself.
Why are they Dissin' Vanilla Ice ? they say he sampled Queen/David Bowie,But In this song I heard Peter Gabriel and Stevie Wonder...and as far as "street cred" goes, I believe Vanilla Ice had Black guys in his video too...I'm just sayyyin.
@Dactuck Why would he snitch on himself though ? ..I can Understand why rappers would be mad at him back then..But He did what rappers are doing now...He was before his time..Believe me, I'm and Ol skool Hip Hopper from way back, and don't get me wrong, Vanilla was No Public enemy or N.W.A. But he did his thing and earned his spot in rap history..I think there has and always will be jealousy in Hip Hop and this was a good example.
@KREEPNASTY1 Bullshit! Its called Honor son. Its called respect. Who cares what lazy bitches were doing before I was born? Why do you live to the lowest standards of manhood? Why do you talk lies with so much lost hope. Kreepnasty. Talk like a man. Please. Rational voices sell at a premium.
@Dactuck What the fuck are you talking about "son" ? we went from rap to philosophy ?? If rational voices are selling,You haven't made a penny...Now what ?
@KREEPNASTY1 Rap is urban philosophy. That truth has been lost on you son. You're right, I've never pimped hip-hop for chunk of change Kreep. That was never the point, Kreep. Who the hell is KreepNasty? Who is this Clown? Go to sleep, Kreep? Holla, Kreep?!?!
@Dactuck I sold records I can tell you that much..I don't need to say my name ,but I was just giving my opinion..We shouldn't even be arguing over these guys anyway..I still got a lot to conquer
@KREEPNASTY1 the track depicted Ice as a culture thief who watered down the sound of rap in order to pander to a mainstream audience, while depicting 3rd Bass as more respectful of the genre's traditions. Ice was also criticized for his refusal to credit artists whose music he had sampled for his 1990 smash "Ice Ice Baby."
@KREEPNASTY1 if you get a chance you should read MC Search's biography on Wiki - it is very distinguished, 3rd Bass also worked with Prince Paul in 1987 - if that doesn't say "legitimate" I don't know what does.

I love how much Serch and Pete Nice foil each other, Pete's always wearing a suit or got a cigar in his mouth just bein classy, and Serch is always jumping around like an idiot lol. It's awesome.
@Mzungu451 At 3:17 the song with the horns is a sample of Stevie Wonder's You haven't done nothin. There could be more samples. I just don't know how many. Hope it helps.
@MrFinsforlife I got to say, I am impressed with their ability to sample so much. Thanks for the information. I didn't know they sampled from Stevie Wonder as well!
