This morning's Good Morning America just reported that banking CEOs and execs are STILL getting $23 BILLION in bonuses -even after 170,000 job losses in that sector.
Let's see...That would pay for 460,000 jobs, each paying $50,000/yr for an entire year.
Richard S. Fuld Jr. CEO of Lehman Brothers: Salary $ 750,000 ,Total compensation:$71.9 millions. Richard S. Fuld Jr. is building a $13 million home on Jupiter Island in Martin County, Florida. Bush and Mc cain gonna help to him with bailout.
CEO's get agolden parachute as they drive thier firm into the ground, and the American people have to pick up the tab. Something is very very wrong with this picture. Nancy Pelosi, sep 29.
If you vote for Obama and the rest of those thieving Democrats who got rich off Fannie-Freddie contributions (second-highest: Obama), get ready for Jimmy Carter-type home mortgage rates again.
17% home loans, gas lines around the block, Americans kidnapped & killed around the globe with NO response.
Instead of lying about his participation in the FannieMae fiasco, I'd like to see Obama explain why he did NOT sign this letter (linked below) back in 2006, warning about the FannieMae-FreddieMac disaster:
I DON'T CARE WHAT ANY OF YOU LIBERALS SAY, I like John McCain's economic plan! I heard that he has a plan to ballance government spending with a mix of black magic and astrology. He is a cancer, right? I don't think that McCain graduating fifth from the bottom of his college class means he is dumb, it simply means that he is a Joe six pack. I think if we all went down to the local Maverick and got ourselves a six pack, our economy would fix its self.
Ownership society is a slogan for a model of society promoted by United States President George W. Bush. It takes as lead values personal responsibility, economic liberty, and the owning of property. The ownership society discussed by Bush also extends to certain proposals of specific models of health care and social security.
...the key to health care reform is to restore control to the patients themselves. - John McCain's campaign website, 2008.
Rely on his advisors like Phil Gramm?! Gramm helped to craft the de-regulation of the mortgage securities and was the VP of UBS's Mortgage department. McCain not only doesn't understand economics, he is planning on using the same people who got us into this mess to get us out?! This guy doesn't give a crap about the average american, we will all be living in cardboard boxes and he will be living it up in one of his 8 or 12 or whatever houses.
I was not a strong Ron Paul supporter, but even I have to admit the look on his face said it all - he looked at McCain like "WTF did you just say, you fool?'
Regardless of how much I may disagree with some of Ron Paul's ideas, at least he isn't an utter embarrassment to the US like McCain. I can disagree with Paul and still respect him; I don't know what McCain stands for, and neither does he.
I will contribute to the bailout fund if Henry (Hank) Paulson — U.S. Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO, and all-around bald guy ponies up the $200 million in capital gains tax he was exempt from having to pay. It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.
Jawn McCain is an economic moron. He suspended his campaign because he cannot think economics and debate in the same WEEK. McCain is NOT fit for President. He panicked this week and hit the EJECT button. Vote Obama for stability, inteligence and coolness under pressure.
lets elect a guy who knows nothing about the economy and takes advice from the guy who deregulated the financial and caused this mess, and better yet, with a VP who just got her passport for the first time last year! yeah, really good idea
Washington Post - Congratulations Taxpayers, you are now the proud owners of a debt-stapped insurance company! Not this bitch! I haven't paid taxes for 8 years. Can't wait for them to come and arrest me. Before my homies call my attorney, they are going to call every media source in my state. Yep, MY, (I repeat, MY) money is not going to support these bullshit bailouts or the war. Bring it on, I got some free time now! Obama 08! For Sure!
McCain had the biggest banking/wallstreet deregulator, Sen. Phil Gramm, as his head economics adviser. McCain has always believed in deregulation- even calling himself a "deregulatory hawk." He fired Gramm. Now McCain wants to change wallstreet w/ regulation & oversight.
If McCain had flipped on deregulation to regulation SOONER and followed Obama in pressing for more regulation & oversight, we might not be in the mess we are in now. (BTW Phil Gramm also known for creating the "enron loophole")
AARP (American Assoc of Retired People) states: McCains budget, while providing huge tax cuts for the wealthy and higher healthcare premiums for workers, will cost $100 Billion MORE than Obama's budget, which will provide LOWER taxes for average Americans, more affordable healthcare, and ease access to higher education.
McCain will borrow money to pay for his budget shortfall, Obama will pay for it through higher taxes on upper income earners and corporations that move jobs offshore.
In light of our current economic turmoil - this would be an excellect ad for the obama folks. But seriously, McCain's statement about wishing the interest rates being at 0% is amazing and frankly dumbfounding.
One heart beat away! Who was born in 1884 and died of a heart attack in 1945 at age 61 ? Who was born in 1911 and died in 1981 of a heart attack when he was 70 years old?
Why does McCain want to be president? Who knows? I've read his words in his book [Worth the Fighting For]."I didn't decide to run for president to start a national crusade for any political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to become president." -John McCain
Stock market yesterday was lowest since 911.My parents lost their home&life processions due to dad's 3 strokes&heart attack&medical bills.I support Obama due to his life service as advocate for working class. His proposals to stabilize economy will help my parents&our country.Barack wants to pass middleclass cut that gives 95%working Americans taxcut of $1000,emergency energy rebate, students a $4,000 tax break tuition, raise min wage, not tax my parents SS or anyone living on SS of $50,000 or less.
i am terrified at the possibility of mccain being president! i graduate from college nxt year, and that unfortunately means i have to start paying back school loans... if all these banks keep failing and the economy keeps plunging... all i have to say is may GOD help us all
btw, anybody notice how all mccains answers to every question somehow reminds us of the fact that he was a POW? i mean much respect and regards and all that jive... but really?? EVERY TIME??
I agree, McCain is not a war hero. McCain just sat in a prison. For example, what battle did McCain win? How many lives did he save? My Dad was a first responder, he saved more lives than him. He wouldn't constantly talk about his job or the past.
As US citizen,I am upset about Sarah Palin's attacks accusing Obama about excessive earmarks.Palin, sought out 32 times the amount Obama did.He sought less than 1/30th amount of earmarks that Palin did.If you count the whole states in 2008,Alaska still far the worst in the US.McCain is so out of touch with financial reality it's scary.I am far under His definition of making 5 million. His definition of fundamentals of our economy is strong is a joke.Stock market yesterday was the lowest since 911.
Obama is knowledgeable enough to at least try and answer tough questions like the one Ron Paul asked McCain, and McCain pretty much admits he has no effin clue. Experience does not equal intelligence.
Democratic presidents have consistently higher economic growth and consistently lower unemployment than Republican presidents. If you add in a time lag, you get the same result. If you eliminate the best and worst presidents, you get the same result. If you take a look at other economic indicators, you get the same result. There's just no way around it: Democratic administrations are better for the economy than Republican administrations
History shows that everytime there was a Republican president the economie as been week.Research it if you want!McCain said the economic philosophy is sound. If you want to vote for him just brace yourselves.
September 15th: Now remember folks, this man is running for POTUS. Today the stock market plunged and suffered one of its worst days in history.Lehman Bros. filed for bankruptcy protection, Merrill-Lynch bought by BofA,
sparking a global stock market purge. Shades of 1929? The capitalist system works on the philosophy "everyone for himself" While they tell us little people to stay calm, while the capitalists are trying to save their own rear ends.
Anyway, I digress.
My point is that even this morning mccain is still saying "Our economy is fundamentally stable"!
"Our economy is fundamentally stable, my friends" says mccain. "Now back to more important things: Barack Obama is being rude to me and ms. palin,my friends, Lehmann bros. just filed bankrupsy, Merrill-Lynch was sold to Bof A to keep it from filing bankruptsy, Fannie and Freddie had to be taken over by the gubament, Bear Stearns------, oh hell--- who cares about them when I can spew lies about Barack Obama and people will believe me cus I was a pow a hundred years ago, my friends."
all mccain said he would do is discuss the issue with his economic circle. he didn't himself give any explanation to what his plan would be. this guy and palin are economic idiots, and they shouldn't be elected.
Over the past decade, total government spending (state, local and federal) has increased from $2.9 trillion to an astonishing $5.1 trillion in 2008. The $3.1 trillion federal budget submitted by President Bush for 2009 is greater than the combined 1998 spending of the federal government, all 50 states and over 87,000 local governments.
The government cannot continue spending at this rate if America is to remain competitive in the global marketplace.
Don't move. We must lobby for every Democrat to get into office in every race and keep his faults in the news DAILY. But he will not win. McCain and the Republicans are not suffering, living on food stamps, and losing their homes...
yeah, I'm thinking Canada, it's a beautiful country. They have great healthcare up there, don't let the cons fool you about that. Ask any Canadian. I have talked to many. 9 out of 10 will tell you the jhealthcare is great. They may complain that it takes time to get procedures done, but here we pay big bucks for them but we could die wqaiting for an appointment. Oh Canada--sounds good already!
9 Trillion in debt to China and Japan (they own us). A failed war in IRAQ when we should have devoted all resources to Afghanistan.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be SEIZED in days (holding 1/2 of the U.S. 24 $Trillion in mortgages). John has NO economic ideas. We need LOWER PRICES and not lower taxes(which only help the top 5%). You can't lift all boats when 95% are sinking and living paycheck to paycheck.
Simple non-manipulated numbers rarely make it to the end user, in this case the voter. The current socio-political environment is one of sensationalism. The average voter has no desire to become self educated. They instead defer to the agenda driven media, (be it left or right) to manipulate their perspectives. It's a sad state of affairs when the voting public won't actively pursue independent source information such as the data presented in Larry Bartel's new book.
They ask John McCain about the Economy and he starts ranting on about his POW junk. The guy didn't even start planning out his Economic jargon until he won the Republican seat.
Palin is the Governor of Alaska for goodness sakes, and she has yet to mention anythign valid about the Economy.

Obama=
weak points: voted No to the surge in Iraq. The surge in Iraq has been proven successful and Obama has recently stated the surge has been successful beyond "wildest dreams".
Right now it does not matter whether it was right or wrong for the US to go into Iraq. What does matter is whether the politicians, and public, have the resolve to continue sacrificing to bring and maintain stability and peace in Iraq. Withdrawing unconditionally when Iraq is unstable is irresponsible.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If Obama is voted in as president, he will not have the luxury to go back in time and not start the Iraq war. He will have to end the Iraq war in a responsible way, that allows the US to return with honor and respect. Obama voting no on the Iraq surge proves he has bad judgment, and is incapable of making sound judgments during a time of crisis. The Iraq surge has been proven successful and Obama has recently, and publicly, acknowledge this fact.
McSame only voted for the surge because he is a war monger. He wants us to stay in Iraq for 100 years. He doesn't even know the difference between sunnies and shiites. Give me a break.
He did not state he wants the US to say in Iraq for 100 years. He stated the amount of time we are there is not the main issue that causes Americans to be against the Iraq war, it is the amount of casualties. Not a 100 year war, but a military presence, without regard to time, to ensure peace and stability. He referenced that the US military has been in South Korea for over 50 years. Do you see Americans in the streets with signs stating "Bring our troops home from South Korea"? No.
Uhh, if you haven't noticed we can't afford our expenses here at home, never mind a war for 100 years. The expense of this war is killing our economy and our men and women. It's time to come home and start taking care of this country.
Obama or McCain does not matter on economics, there is a stampede of debt on the national level that cannot be stopped with out complete depression do the math folks we are bankrupt except for people who take our checks the only thing that keeps any politician in is to increase debt.
McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Our economy begins to falter each time a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation began in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - largest federal deficit ever! We cannot afford perpetual war. We deserve a change. Vote for Barack Obama.
Does not Obama want to add a $2.3 Trillion per year expenditure to the national budget by National Health Ins. I think he does. Now if we completely close down the military and disband it totally we would save around $0.6 Trillion we will still need $1.7 Trillion per year to pay for it. So do we print up T-Bills and Cash in this amount to pay for this? Won't this add to the $11 Trillion of national debt?
Damn. I'm sorry, but mimicking 90% of GWB's economics is not a competent plan.
The US has been coasting on the same basic economic plan since the 50's, and these idiots change nothing as time passes except to shift more burden onto thee middle class.
Honestly, I'm prepared for a long decline in he US. Realism, not pessimism. We're coasting on decades-old policies while theEU, CHina, Japan, etc. are renovating their own.
what a stupid idiot. If interest rate were zero then no bank would lend money and there would be no investment.... really, you people are morons if you vote for this guy.
AStatePlayer: he justs lapsed straight into "no taxes" mode. he didnt have the slightest idea what he was being asked, which was obvious to all. He was counting on the audience being just as unfamiliar as he was (which they were) and nobody called him out. I will say that everyone whos ever taken econ 101 was rolling their eyes and gritting their teeth. I love to him asked the same question again in one of the debates.
Since 1900, Democratic presidents have dominated on every economic front: GDP growth, employment, deficit and income equality. Need more? How about a better performing stock market and a more fiscally-responsible spending.
There's no need to listen to McCain's marginal rates, death tax, deregulation, trickle-down, supply-side shenanigans because historically Democratic presidencies have produced better economies.
Until just recently, McCain's chief economic advisor was Phil Gramm, a man who (among other things) was behind the legislation that deregulated the mortgage banking industry (leading to a world wide financial disaster). One of Grams other interests was investing in the soft core porn movie industry. Until MCCain cut Gramm lose last month ( "nation of winners")..Gramm was the go to guy on the economy for McCain.
When he picks economic advisors like that, it scares the hell out of me
In his list of close friends that will help him to discuss the economy he mentioned the Concord Group at 1:47. The Concord group? He had an alzheimers moment. He really meant the Concord Coalition. Grandpa McCain is already starting to forget who is pulling his strings.
McCain would continue Bush's failed economic policies. Our economy falters when a Repubican is President! Hoover - Great Depression Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Nixon - 1971 Recession Ford - stagflation in 1973 Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - now! We deserve a change. Vote for Barack Obama.
...yes for us common folks. Life is great for multi-billionaires when Republicans are in charge.
Listen carefully he even wanted zero percent interest rates - a great deal for people using other people's money, a terrible deal for all of those lending it to them.
McCain would continue Bush's economic policies that do NOT work. Look at our economy now. Our economy sucks! Every time our economy tanks, a Repubican is President! Herbert Hoover - Great Depression Dwight Eisenhower - 1957 Recession Richard Nixon - 1971 Recession Gerald Ford - stagflation in 1973 Ronald Reagan - "Black Monday," Oct. 19, 1987 George H. W. Bush - 1991 Recession George W. Bush - right now! We deserve a change. Vote Barack Obama.
This man has no concept of what it's like to have to decide between paying the electric bill or buying food. He has no clue about how the average American is struggling to survive. Granted, there are some out there who bitch about gas and food prices yet camp in line to buy a new iphone, those people need to be quiet. But the folks who are paying half of their paycheck to OPEC to drive to their walmart jobs, they aren't whiners and they deserve an economy that allows them to live with dignity.
darwinx0101 I was referring to examples of inexperience vs. experience, but since you don't have an answer and would rather transfer the conversation to me them let me ask you another question.
Please provide examples how the state of our economy is a result of America being run like a corporation?
If you don't want to go there then explain how the secondary mortgage crash is a result of America being run like a corporation?
clickfox, seems like you want to walk from your experience argument and change the subject. why is that?
is it because in our history of presidents (42 of them) there is zero correlation between how effective their administration was and how much experience they entered office with?
and in case you didn't already know, the prime concern of a business is to make profit. would you suggest that holds true for the prime concern of a government?
cs8907: I love your financial insight! I bet you are a foreign exchange trader or a securities analyst at the NYSE. Please elaborate further on your thoughts of the economy, the dollar and politics! I am your student. Please teach me more!
I just want to read some more of your intelligent banter on this post. You now like changing McCain's name into McShame. Genius! Wow! Rhyme so more captainkickbutt! Please!
Hey you Republicans!!!!! If you want this country start more wars and have the economy crash vote for McBush!!lol People say this man has more experience than Obama....bull. Experience is gained when you are President! If anything McCain has more experience with pulling the wool over Americans' eyes!
I think that if Barack wins he should definitely make ron paul the vice-president, he'd do a great job and take the country forward since they both have amazing visions
Seriously though, I respect his honesty about his stance, however the economy is our biggest problem in the country since it effects ALL people, present and future.
"Well, obviously, we all would like to see some sunshine" . Hey, on that note, why doesn't MCCAIN just spare the nation the grief and retire to Arizona - what an incompetent asshole! (just like BUSH)
Tell me - wats the difference between Bush and Mc Caine.... seriously -this is not a joke with a punch line. OK ther is no difference just different pair of trousers
darwinx0101: I get it; we negate experience with inexperience so as to provide America with a fresh outlook. Perhaps you can share examples in corporate America where an inexperienced CEO was hired to take responsibly and ownership of a failing fortune 100 company?
If I understand this right, we are getting out of the worse presidency since Warren Harding, probably worse since there are more cronies in this administration than in any other in history.
Am now McCain say ask him for another change so the he can put more of his own cronies to continues Bushes policies.
The man said he do not know nothing about the economy, how on earth can he have an economic plan?
Give us a break, the man is already senile can't anybody see that?
Well the free market principles of McCain's economic advisors have been proven wrong, time and time again. McCain economic advisor, the ex-senator Phil Gramm pushed for deregulation of the S&L industry and the result was the S&L crisis. He then pushed for deregulation of the energy industry and the result was Enron and the rolling blackouts in California.
Gramm then pushed for deregulation of the financial institution and the result was the current mortgage meltdown. McCain recently voted against closing the Enron loophole. We need intelligent regulation and a fair playing field, not disastrous economic policies.
Trickle down economy doesn't work if the minimum wage is not a living wage, and blue collar jobs outsourced or employers knowingly give them to illegal immigrants. Let's break the cycle (welfare mom to prison son, to fatherless children through education and a living minimum wage or we will have an increase in underclass and illegal immigrants. We can start now with the GI BIll and give same GI education benefits to our veterans we gave to the veterans of WW II.
People are screwed, the market fell 400 points, gas prices will near 5 dollars a gallon in the summer, and the oil prices have jumped. If you vote for a republican like McMuffin, you need serious psychiatric help
Just what we need. Another incompetant who will surround himself with neocon lunatics to whom he will surrender authority over economic decisions, because he doesn't know a damn thing about the economy.
look up who's john mccain's top economic advisor... phil gramm. this man help pass Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000, the very act which is allowing big time investors to flood the futures market with no transparency or over sight. this man is why oil is hitting $123 a barrel. do research into this, people
his a fucking idiot. lets kill our country becasue john mccain likes shipping jobs out of country. ass hole. go to hell!!!!! he said interest rates to be zero this guys is fucking ass if its zero how the banks going to make money and keep the economy strong stupid.
Zero inflation as a base rate doesn't actually mean that banks wouldn't charge any interest. Japan has a base interest rate very close to zero. Zero interest rate in the US would be very detremental, because it would make credit very cheap and hence hugely increase consumption, which would probably lead to an overheating of the economy and high inflation, with a weaker dollar and a greater buget deficit.
McCain has a great idea. With the Fed creating enough dollars to drive the interest rate to zero, the dollar will soon also be worth zero, and we can go back to gold and say to hell with the Fed.
Economy? What's that, McCain? On any question he's asked, whether it's the economy or anything else, his reply is always the same: "...the surge is working." All he can talk about is warmongering. The economy is in shreds. In Shreds! A big 'Thank You' goes out to warhawk Republicans like Bush and McCain.
Lucky for McCain, interest rates have been zero for years now!

It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.

John McCain told us recently that the fundamentals of the economy are good.
Why the sudden crisis?

Simple non-manipulated numbers rarely make it to the end user, in this case the voter. The current socio-political environment is one of sensationalism. The average voter has no desire to become self educated. They instead defer to the agenda driven media, (be it left or right) to manipulate their perspectives. It's a sad state of affairs when the voting public won't actively pursue independent source information such as the data presented in Larry Bartel's new book.

strong points: War, experience in congress, supposedly realistic.
weak points: economy, agrees with most politics of George W. Bush

strong points: economy, experience in commmunity service, said no to the war in Iraq
weak points: maybe War, lack of congress "experience", may appear to be unrealistic by some.

Right now it does not matter whether it was right or wrong for the US to go into Iraq. Withdrawing unconditionally when Iraq is unstable is irresponsible.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
If Obama is voted in as president, he will not have the luxury to go back in time and not start the Iraq war. He will have to end the Iraq war in a responsible way, that allows the US to return with honor and respect. Obama voting no on the Iraq surge proves he has bad judgment, and is incapable of making sound judgments during a time of crisis. The Iraq surge has been proven successful and Obama has recently, and publicly, acknowledge this fact.
a0123456789z 3 years ago
McSame only voted for the surge because he is a war monger. He wants us to stay in Iraq for 100 years. He doesn't even know the difference between sunnies and shiites. Give me a break.
Stunatra 3 years ago
He did not state he wants the US to say in Iraq for 100 years. He stated the amount of time we are there is not the main issue that causes Americans to be against the Iraq war, it is the amount of casualties. Not a 100 year war, but a military presence, without regard to time, to ensure peace and stability. He referenced that the US military has been in South Korea for over 50 years. Do you see Americans in the streets with signs stating "Bring our troops home from South Korea"? No.
a0123456789z 3 years ago
Uhh, if you haven't noticed we can't afford our expenses here at home, never mind a war for 100 years. The expense of this war is killing our economy and our men and women. It's time to come home and start taking care of this country.

Now if we completely close down the military and disband it totally we would save around $0.6 Trillion we will still need $1.7 Trillion per year to pay for it. So do we print up T-Bills and Cash in this amount to pay for this? Won't this add to the $11 Trillion of national debt?

Since 1900, Democratic presidents have dominated on every economic front: GDP growth, employment, deficit and income equality. Need more? How about a better performing stock market and a more fiscally-responsible spending.
There's no need to listen to McCain's marginal rates, death tax, deregulation, trickle-down, supply-side shenanigans because historically Democratic presidencies have produced better economies.
Teriyaki07 3 years ago
Until just recently, McCain's chief economic advisor was Phil Gramm, a man who (among other things) was behind the legislation that deregulated the mortgage banking industry (leading to a world wide financial disaster). If you don't want to go there then explain how the secondary mortgage crash is a result of America being run like a corporation?

clickfox, seems like you want to walk from your experience argument and change the subject. why is that?
is it because in our history of presidents (42 of them) there is zero correlation between how effective their administration was and how much experience they entered office with?
and in case you didn't already know, the prime concern of a business is to make profit. would you suggest that holds true for the prime concern of a government?
if so, you are seriously warped in your beliefs.

Well the free market principles of McCain's economic advisors have been proven wrong, time and time again. McCain economic advisor, the ex-senator Phil Gramm pushed for deregulation of the S&L industry and the result was the S&L crisis. He then pushed for deregulation of the energy industry and the result was Enron and the rolling blackouts in California.
bynddrvn5 3 years ago
Gramm then pushed for deregulation of the financial institution and the result was the current mortgage meltdown. McCain recently voted against closing the Enron loophole. We need intelligent regulation and a fair playing field, not disastrous economic policies.

Trickle down economy doesn't work if the minimum wage is not a living wage, and blue collar jobs outsourced or employers knowingly give them to illegal immigrants. Let's break the cycle (welfare mom to prison son, to fatherless children through education and a living minimum wage or we will have an increase in underclass and illegal immigrants. We can start now with the GI BIll and give same GI education benefits to our veterans we gave to the veterans of WW II.

vahe1986 3 years ago 2
Zero inflation as a base rate doesn't actually mean that banks wouldn't charge any interest. Japan has a base interest rate very close to zero. Zero interest rate in the US would be very detremental, because it would make credit very cheap and hence hugely increase consumption, which would probably lead to an overheating of the economy and high inflation, with a weaker dollar and a greater buget deficit.
llutsar 3 years ago 2
McCain has a great idea. With the Fed creating enough dollars to drive the interest rate to zero, the dollar will soon also be worth zero, and we can go back to gold and say to hell with the Fed.
