According to Europe Autonews, the Fiesta outsold every brand in its class for the first quarter of this year. In March it even outsold VW Golf. In Italy is the second best selling car leaving far behind the Punto. It's a 100% Germany built and the quality is outstanding. There might be hiccups here and there but overall you get a lot for the money. I know a lot of happy Fiesta owners and I'm thinking of becoming one of them soon. Cheers :)

Lets just say for the sake of a Fiat Punto Grande. It was designed by an Italian thoroughbred called Giorgetto Giugiaro who is one of the most talented Italian car designers in history. He is now very poor & pissed off at the fact some blithering old git called Martin Smith was let loose out of a social services rest home, stole his cars look, added a few easy tweaks to it then made huge money living in villas in Spain robbing something that wasn't his own idea. Support Giugiaro, buy Fiat!

Your saying Fiat will fall to pieces and never last! Ford are probably worse for that mate! Fiat Grande is more reliable than this Fiesta. Sad to say, Ive already heard some very bad rumours from new buyers about the faultyness. thats not good for a car thats been out a very short time! remember, Just because it glitters, doesn't mean its gold!

Fiat own Ferrari, Maserati, bugatti, Alfa, Lamborghini, Lancia which retail over £100,000 Ford own Volvo, Range Rover, Aston martin, Jaguar which retail about £60,000 so If someone starts saying a Fiesta is better than a Punto remind them that, and also, Fiat was named after an Italian God. Ford was named after one of thier faulty cars being dumped in one!

You listen too much to Biased car reviews and what your mates think about it! Ive worked on them as a technician, They only handle better because of the CBS! they have far more electronic chip automated balancing software installed usually shipped from Burma and thats why they ride & handle better. The chassis is no better than any other car. Lots of owners are thinking like you and wish they hadn't bought one! This is why they become so faulty...

The engines are weaker and the Gearboxes are also weaker then the Fiat Punto Grande range. Fords TDCi engines are PSA developed common-rail engines a.k.a HDi also found in citroen and Peugeot. Ford fit cheaper injectors, filters, inlet manifolds, EGR valves, De-cats to them to save money. This in turn weakens the reliablity of the outcome of the car. So i would think twice before buying an Econetic or any TDCi!

I forgot to add, the New 2008 Fiesta range: TDCi and 1.6 16V petrol models also have a cheaper, nastier and dodgey engine management imported from the far east to Fords distribution in the US and UK! Read the RAC forums and you'll be shocked on how faulty the 1.6 16V is!

Your insulting me when you slag off Fiats for "breaking apart" and their quality. I mentioned the Ford KA/Fiat 500/Panda based on the quality issue your raised. The new KA is essentialy a FIAT underneath. This clearly shows you Fiat quality is better - and Ford knows it! The new Fiesta is an ugly overrated car. Buy a Grande Punto insted ;)

Honestly, I like the Fiat 500 and Panda. I dont have the same quality issue with them.(I really could imagine me buying them.)

But I have seen water leak trought the Grande Puntos side windows when it rains, and that is not...great ;) .

I was referring to the Grande Punto in all earlier posts.

If you want a Grande Punto, I dont mind, its great that you like it :)

Leaking water in the side windows would usually be caused by bad side glass fitting due to a theft or break-in and the technician/fitter has been a cowboy! nothing to do with build quality my friend, I worked for RAC!

If it leaks when it is brand new, it has only been fitted badly by the factory technician or fitter! who may have been a possible cowboy! It IS NOT A BUILD QUALITY ISSUE! May I remind you I worked for RAC autowindscreens for 2 years And the same thing has happened to Focuses and Mondeos so, It is not a build quality issue, You have not worked for a vehicle glass-fitting firm so you would not be educated on these little common hiccups my friend!

Don't buy Ford for god sake. The Zetec/duratec petrols are usually o.k but the TDCi diesels are shit. They are known suffer constant engine-related problems. They Might look/Feel/drive nicer over competitive cars but the clutches & flywheels tend to last between 10-20,000 miles. They are also the worst Diesels to get ECU/PCM faults. Then the fuel pumps & injectors are known to die anywhere between 40-80,000 miles. My old company had an all-TDCi fleet & that was typical of them.

Ive had 4 Fiats before I went VAG. Every single one of them never ever had problems! Everytime I have jumped into a Ford its a fight to get it into reverse or a fight to start the ignition! Sod the modified copied looks mate your better off pocketing 5-6K and getting a Fiat, they have much better 16V engines and much better gearboxes. The new 1.4T abarth esse kills the ST! as it has same BHp, faster from 0-60!, hits same top-speed and does 40MPG, and Tax costs £120 a year! fuck the Siesta!

don't trust the new Fiesta, Ive heard some very nasty rumours from new car buyers about the unreliable technology! I think its just too overpriced for what it is. I'd be better off with a Grande Punto, Fiats more reliable than Ford and actually has better engines, The Grandes upto 7K cheaper than the New Fiesta and depreciation rate works out the same... so less is lost!
