Is there such thing as a good virus? I've only heard of good bacteria, but I know somewhere in the world, there's a good virus! The reason? Obivous! Pennicillin, bacteria are easily killed! Maybe if someone can find a cure for viruses, maybe AIDS and all of these other microscopic pests won't be such a calamitie!

They found something that kills AIDS viruses. And, there are good viruses: Retroviruses, the ones used in vaccines for example are good retroviruses.

@Helge129 I am not aware of any virus that kills the HIV virus (not the AIDS virus, since AIDS is an acquired syndrome not the virus).

Also, HIV is a retrovirus, and many vaccines are not retroviruses, but inactivated viruses.

@marsh pennicillin (one kind of antibiotic) is increasingly becoming ineffective against bacterial infections. The resistant bacteria are a result of over-prescription of antibiotics in the first place.
