  • I enjoyed this film, Richard. The musical embellishment was an artful touch to showcasing some splendid close-ups of several species of local butterflies. ;-)

  • Beautiful,I've been seeing alot of Monarch butterflies here in Florida.

  • Thank you very much,

We in the UK sometimes get mas influxes of

Monarch butterflies I have only seen these once many years ago an impressive species

    Best wishes Richard

    the collection was really eye-pleasing.

some of them look very similar to ours here in far east jpn!

    Jolanda

  • Thank you Jolanda

I Know the feeling, it is frustrating, I try to photograph these early morning when they are a bit torpid they and less likely to fly off.

    Many thanks Richard

  • Beautiful. There were loads that I didn't know. We seem to have cabbage whites and Red Admirals and that's about it!

    Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Thank you,

The first is a Green Hairstreak, then a Skipper, Comma, Painted lady, Red admiral,

    Peacock, Comma and Meadow brown?,

Then a Six spot Burnet Moth then finally Holly blues.

It is unfortunate but the further North you go the less species you get, but the species are more specialised,

    my theory any way

    Best wishes Richard

  • Nice shots Richard - finally managed to see my first Purple Emperor last weekend nicely sitting on the ground - and where was the camera? - yup, at home!

  • Thank you,

You lucky person, that is one butterfly on my wish list, the only ones I see are around the tree tops!

I learnt from that one years ago, I now carry the camera with me everywhere

    Best wishes Richard

  • They are really nice! :D

All I see is the brown ones:(

    5/5

  • Thank you,

I thought you would have butterflies like the Milkweed butterfly, an impressive species.

    Best wishes Richard
