I don't know how many times I've watched this on tv, VHS, then the various dvds and now the blu ray version. It never gets old, not sure why. My favourite movie by far.

Probably the most badass way to save the world would be to run at the bad guy with a giant freaking sword yelling, "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!" and then cutting his head off.

For some reason, the VHS quality of this trailer is much more attractive to me than the clean Bluray presentation of the movie that we have today. It just... feels better, at least as far as this movie's concerned.
Until they die for the first time, the age like any normal person. After they've been killed, they return immortal. They never have said what would happen if an immortal is never killed and simply dies of old age though. I'm guessing if that happens, their immortality never activates.
@SlyEdits I think they age normally untill they get killed the first time, at which point the immortality takes over. When the Kurgan kills Connor at the beginning of the movie, that is when he becomes immortal.

Highlander is a GREAT MOVIE. All the other flicks and TV series should be discounted as being in anyway related to this master stroke ! ;) You can enjoy the TV series for what it was, a flawed rehash of the concept. Look at it separately from the original film. Junk all the sequel movies .... :D

i looked up some stuff about the game they were making it was supposed to be realeased in 2008 but for some reason they cancelled it and as far as i can find it does not currently have a realease date if anyone else learns differently plz let me know.
@Lonewolf67100 I read that article as well, and while it does say it is suspected to be under indefinite hiatus, on the right-hand side it has a release date for March 30, 2011. Probably should be taken with a grain of salt or two.
Gotta love that Highlander - even though Christopher Lambert (who I harbor nothing personal against) couldn't do a Scottish accent to save his life. Of course, Sean Connery couldn't do a Spanish accent for Ramirez, the Egyptian posing as a Spaniard (I guess Ramirez has lived long enough to master dialects & accents for when he travels?).
Still, a great piece of cult fantasy. Plus, music by Queen.
This movie made me think Scots are damn cool. Actually just heard that they are making a videogame of this franchise, I hope they don't screw it up and make it into a Sandbox game or something... Highlander series has been screwed way too many times..... (the anime is not that bad actually....)

Saw this film back in 86, on paper it should not have worked. A Scot playing an Egyptian, a Frenchman - who had only just learned to speak English - playing a Scot and an American playing a Russian. But on the screen it just worked! It is one of my favourite films of the last 25 years. Tell you the truth, I don't think the studio or producers know why either. As this was one of the best, the sequels were the worst, they junked all that was good and imported lots of crap.

music by queen, a smashingly original premise, a great villain and a KILLER tagline, defiantly one of my all time favourite movies....in fact im gonna watch it right now :D

i looked up some stuff about the game they were making it was supposed to be realeased in 2008 but for some reason they cancelled it and as far as i can find it does not currently have a realease date if anyone else learns differently plz let me know.

@Lonewolf67100 I read that article as well, and while it does say it is suspected to be under indefinite hiatus, on the right-hand side it has a release date for March 30, 2011. Probably should be taken with a grain of salt or two.

Gotta love that Highlander - even though Christopher Lambert (who I harbor nothing personal against) couldn't do a Scottish accent to save his life. Of course, Sean Connery couldn't do a Spanish accent for Ramirez, the Egyptian posing as a Spaniard (I guess Ramirez has lived long enough to master dialects & accents for when he travels?).
Still, a great piece of cult fantasy. Plus, music by Queen.

This movie made me think Scots are damn cool. Actually just heard that they are making a videogame of this franchise, I hope they don't screw it up and make it into a Sandbox game or something... Highlander series has been screwed way too many times..... (the anime is not that bad actually....)

@delpher32exe but christopher is hotter than adrian , sorry. and the plot of the highlander films .... ?! women ( i can only say my mind , and i am a woman ;-) ) watch the highlander movies like men watch pornograpy : the plot is all the same to me , i watch it because of the eyes, the body and so on of christopher , hoping to get a look under his kilt (knowing that it happens in none of the movies ,but hope dies last ;-O )

Saw this film back in 86, on paper it should not have worked. A Scot playing an Egyptian, a Frenchman - who had only just learned to speak English - playing a Scot and an American playing a Russian. But on the screen it just worked! It is one of my favourite films of the last 25 years. Tell you the truth, I don't think the studio or producers know why either. As this was one of the best, the sequels were the worst, they junked all that was good and imported lots of crap.

@sonofcy yup agreed now i have never seen the original movie up until last week monday but prior to that i watched the tv show and End Game i was spared from The Quicking but lets be honest End Game is right up there but damn was the original movie when i watched it kick ass better than most shit they pass of as action movies i'll tell you the 80's were the golden age of action movies
