  • PELÉ: THE LEGEND.

    The best ever!

  • Pele changed soccer forever

  • Anyone else start watching this but then just listen to the song.

  • wow man simply the best black footballer ever my nigga

  • Pele is the best player of all time

  • maradona was alone? you don't know anything about football! : Ruggeri!!, Olarticoechea, Burruchaga!!! Batista, Valdano!!!

  • best pele video don't ever delete it..

Pele wins a world cup at 16 scoring the last two goals , goes to 5 world cups wins three one were he got injured pretty bad yet he came back and scored over 1000 goals.. creator and master of bicycle kicks , volleys , finishing, headers , freekicks, dribbling , speed, strength shot power and accuracy, left and right foot , he beat the the champions league champions Benfica

He's the greatest because he learnt from no one but he taught himself !!

  • @kayodamaestro You're absolutely right. ;)

  • Liverpool become GIANT since mid 70's-80's ( Keegan, Souness, Dalglish etc ) and STILL IS

Bayern become GIANT ( Becke, Muller etc ) since 70's and STILL IS.

Same for Latin teams ( Boca, Sao Paulo, Penarol, Independiente, O. Asuncion, Nasional etc )

Where the FUCK was Santos since 1963 ?! And WHAT THE FUCK they ACHIEVED with "The KING" that was so undisputed ?! Winning 2 Copas in play off mathces ?!

WHO IS OBJECTIVE here and WHO IS SUBJECTIVE ?!

  • Pele in the modern era would have been as much good as Jimmy. Actually Hasselbaink had same CHARACTERISTICS with Pele, but you haven't see him playing obviously with Leeds, Atletico, Chelsea and Holland.

    99% similar style

Santos who ? Where is Santos in Football since 1963 ?! Pele DIDN'T EVEN MADE THEM GIANTS in their time. Winning 2 Copa's does not make U automatically GIANT.

Real become GIANT since 50's ( DiStefano )and STILL IS

Ajax become GIANT since 70's ( Cruyff ) and STILL IS

  • @TSOKES and what does being Giants has to do with the fact that Pele was an amazing soccer player. They were the best team in the world in the early 60s with to Copa Libertadores in a row and winning the intercontinental cup both those years defeating Eusebios Benfica and the 60s Milan squad that had Cesare Maldini and Gianni Rivera. They are steal Giants here in the South american continent. You cant compare european clubs with south american clubs right now, it is just stupid like you

  • Pele/Pede is NOT EVEN top-10 Brazilian players EVER.

Is he BETTER than J.F. Hasselbaink ?! TOUGH CALL

  • People look at the fact that Pele scored so many goals and deduce from it that he must have had it easy. Maybe he was just a brilliant player...

    PS. I prefer Maradona

  • Guys,i don't want to offend any of you who are fans of Pele but how come didn't he ever want to transfer in a European club?Only once he crossed the Atlantic and his team (Santos) lost by Olympiakos in 1961!!!! If he played against better defenders from Europe, maybe he wouldn't score 1000+ goals so easily,as we see him scoring in Brazilian championship...Mr Apokorwnioths,i totally agree with your opinion!!!

  • @city12chania the guy played in 4 world cups and won 3. that pretty much puts the european theory to bed. He owned everyone.

  • @Shreds1620 Pele had great teammates who helped him achieving these triumphs.Mara dona was all alone

  • @city12chania

Idiot he crossed the atlantic many times and buttfucked the lot of them. You basing it off one game THICKY, he destroyed Benfica, Milan and Inter, with the list going on and on! At least research before making yourself sound like the idiot you are.

  • Pele played in a low level league..He definitely isn't the best of all times. Maybe he is one of the top-15.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 Low level? Three time world-champion? You call that low level? World-champion at the age of 17... Low level?

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 you know shit!!! brazil was world champion 3 times in peles era and ALL the players played in the brazilian league. get your info right!

pele also destroyed euro teams whenever he played them.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 in that time Santos was a great team, they played against Real Madrid in Bernabeu and won 5-2

  • also he won 3 worl cups. In the first one he was the star of the tournament with 17 years old

  • @lacordera A couple of friendly games don't mean much. You really believe Santos would have dominated top European clubs if it was in Europe? I don't think so. Anyway, this question is just hypothetical. We can only speak with ifs. Although it is a fact that Pele refused to move to a big European club. He chose to move to a shitty team like New York Cosmos instead. No matter how great football player he was, he wasn't the best. He never competed against the best in club level.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 Pele was proclaimed national treasure by brazilian government, so he was NOT allowed to leave.

In that era the braz league was the best, and all the world chamsp of 1958, 62 AND 70 played there.

to NY cosmos he went after he retired and so did all the greats in his era(Beckanbauer, cruyff, best, eusebio, neeskens etc)

  • @sptwood05 I didn't know about that "national treasure" thing. He was a national treasure till he chose to move to New York, but they had the right to ban him from moving to a top European club? I don't know..

I know Santos won 2 intercontinental cups, the one against Milan with much difficulty, but it's not the same playing 2 games, as facing the strongest European teams all the way.

Villa is not as good as Pele but the point is we can't judge only from national titles.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984

Pele retired in 1974 from football. a few months later in 1975 he made a comeback and played for New york cosmos.

It was very common for all the greats in that era to go to USA and play in their last years. Cruyff, Eusebio, Beckenbauer, Neeskens, Muller, Best, Carlos Alberto all went to play there.

    .

when he joined Cosmos he became the best paid ATHLETE in the world!

no other footballer has achieved that ever.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 "In 1960, after several European countries offered him $1 million to sign up with their clubs, the government of Brazil declared him a national asset making it impossible for him to leave Brazil without official permission."

  • @Apokorwnioths1984

On June 10, 1975, Pele signed a three-year contract with the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. It was just 250 days after he had retired from his Santos, Brazil team. What took place was due in part to the efforts of Secretary of State Henry Kissinger who told the Brazilian government that Pele's playing of soccer in the United States would do much for international relations.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 pele beat the euro champions benfica and Milan in 1962-63 and was world champion with santos.

the world cup is the No1 title for a footballer. not a european league. and pele won 3.

  • @sptwood05 I don't agree with you. Word cup is the best title for national teams, not the No 1 for a football player. Brazil as a country always had many of the best talents in football and most of the times was a contender of World Cup. Contenders of champions league though usually have top players from all over the world and the competition is much tougher.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 champions league now is quite different to 20 or 40 years ago. before it was only the champs who participated and teams where allowed ONLY three foreign players in their squad.

Pele beat the champ league winners of 1962, 63. players like maradona have not even prograssed one round in the champions league...

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 World cup????

  • @LongLongLists Well, current Spanish national team has already two cups, one world cup and one euro, and probably they are going to win more in the future. Does that mean that David Villa is the best football player of all times? I really don't think so. Nobody is denying that Pele was a great player. He just wasn't the best. We can consider him though the best of Brazilian league of all times , and one of the top10-15 of all.

  • @Apokorwnioths1984 hahahaha how can you compare villa to pele??

villa is nto the best player in his team barcelona. in skills in villa is nothing like pele.

villa was not mvp of a world cup either. just a joint top scorer

  • Maradona and Bobby Charlton both said Pele is the best player of all time.I must admit,I agree with them all the way.Almost every player today is overhyped when in reality most players today are just mediocre.Take Messi out todays game, you're left with very little to shout about. As for the games themselves, they are putrid,SA 2010 was utterley abysmal.Pele would have shone and stood out a mile. The people who cheapen Pele's greatness are 18-26 year old ignorammuses who listen to Sky Sports.Amen.

  • Great Video!

  • As for this video ( another PROPAGANDA video ).

    Pele vs Hasselbaink

    Who was better ?!

There's Pele in football. Same level with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

HARDLY QUALIFIES TOP 50 FOOTBALLERS EVER.

  • @TSOKES HASSELBAINK??+ HA HA WHAT A CLOWN YOU ARE!!

GO TALK ABOUT BASKETBALL, DONT EMBARRASS YOURSELF ANYMORE!!

  • @sptwood05

Listen I know it is hard for you in your age to BE A MAN, but there is NO SHAME.

Some BOYS remain boys, they never grow up and become man.

Don't feel bad about it. Accept what you are. There are too many FAGGOTS LIKE YOU ALL OVER THE WORLD, go and contact them, BUT STAY AWAY FROM ME please, I DON'T LIKE FAGS LIKE YOU.

  • @TSOKES haha stay away from you? sorry that i dont want to waste my time with your ignorant stats, you started messaging, YOU invade Peles videos.

but i guess our facts hurt!

every single one of my facts is true. you use subjective opinions about everything.

  • pele made 265 to like this video hahaha

    poor guy

  • At that time Football was a game between friends.. Put Pelé now He would be watching the games from the bench

  • @23ciccio23 If Messi played 100 years from now he get his ass benched.

  • @becefalus

lol at u sucker, pele is overrated so deal with it, if he plays now hahaha no team in europe will think to get him

  • @elmagicomessi I diden't understand a word you just said. Try again please.

  • @elmagicomessi OH please Juventus offered him millions in 1974, Real madrid offered a 1 billion doller contract ( at least thats what i heard). Every team in Europe wanted him, there was not a team in Europe that did not want him. And whats about Pele is overrated? Winning three world cups is overrated? Winning athlete of the century is overrated? Being the best player from 1958 to 1977 is overrated?? I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • Have a nice trip than to MARS. Bye bye

Simple question. If he had so many offers WHY he NEVER CAME in the best European Clubs ?!

Best player from 1958 to 1977 ?! Are U ON CRACK or something ?! He was HISTORY since 1963.

Best athlete elected by whom ?! By OLDFART CORRUPTED FUKCERS ?!

Take ur memories and smoke some weed pal U will feel better. Paf paf paf phuuuuuu try that shyt it will RELAX U.

  • @TSOKES Oh please, the teams from south america were the most dominant back then, especially the Brazilian league. And if you want to say that the Brazilian league is crap, remember that Brazil produced good players from 1950 and 1954 so there must have been good player playing there. Unless you want to contradict yourself.

  • Brazil ALWAYS produced GREAT players.

Pele DOES NOT qualifies top-10 Brazilian players EVER.

As for Brazilian League. The FACT that all brazilian superstars come in Europe the last 30 years, VERIFIES my assertion abt the LOW capacity of your League.

    It's the TRUTH.

  • @TSOKES Europe is were the money is if there were no money nobody would want to go there. Brazilians started going to Europe after the 1974 world cup when Holland introduced a new kind of football. From 1950 to 1970 is when the S.A leagues were the strongest.

  • OK, than lets talk abt that era ( lets agree ) 50-70

How many Copa Libertadores Pele won in his 20 years career with Santos ?!

How many ?! I can't hear you, louder please.

  • @TSOKES Who cares if he only 2, Pele has 60 titles total. I could also ask the same thing for Messi and Maradona when it comes to copa america. Messi was a flop this past copa i believe the same thing went for Maradona as well.

  • God damn grandpa, why can't you discuss ONLY abt Pele ?! Who is making comparisons here ?! I DIDN'T for sure.

Just stay on the theme man. U claim he is the best etc, he dominated in his era etc. When I ask U abt his achievements than U change subject. Daaaamn

Therefore all of you Pele's "LOVERS" have problem discussing with anybody. You don't have coherence. Just mix up everything.

Pele DOES NOT QUALIFIES top-50 EVER.

    Have a nice day.

  • @TSOKES If anyone here is a grandpa it's most likely you.

  • If you r not an old man missing his youth, than you must be some RETARDED young fella who know shit abt football.

How can you watch his tapes and DVD's from his games, and still consider him the best ?! Are you fucking blind or what ?!

Don't you see his limited skills ?! That era was so fucking shit man, wtf is the matter with you ?! Don't you see the defenders ?! They can't even defend propbly.

  • @TSOKES Like i have said before if defences were so bad how come players that played in the same position as Pele couldent score as many goals as him, or achieve as much as he did. Not even players today can do what Pele did back then.

  • Go and check thsese names from his era.

Josef Bican, Arthur Friedenraich, DiStefano, Puskas, Leonidas

Actually Pele has 600+ goals OFFICIALLY + 600 unofficial in exchibiton friendly games

  • @TSOKES Pele has about 750 OFFICIAL goals, still a world record. Pele has also the record for league goals.

  • @TSOKES you clueless moron, Santos played only 3 times in copa libertadores, won 2 of those and reached semis in the third one.

brazilian teams boycoted the tournament for several seasons in the 60s.

    get your info right!!

  • I didn't came here to enjoy this shitty football era and this limited player, SUCKER. I come here cuz FAGGOTS like you and ur sissy friends RELPIES at my comments and than they use SPAM and BLOCK.

DO U DENY THAT ?! ARE U MAN ENOUGH TO ADMITT IT. You ve DONE it and U know it, SO SHUT THE FUCK UP. When someone replies me, I REPLY HIM.

What views do U have abt football ? If U had enough views abt football than you would answer me with ur STRAIGHT OPINION and NOT with what U have been tought

  • @TSOKES

i told you i dont spam, but it is boring to reply to endless messages when we completely disagree.

if i didnt admire pele i would not watch his videos. but i admire him and thats why i search the internet for as much footage of him as possible.

  • @TSOKES pele was from 56 to 74 in santos. thats 18 years, and copa libe started in 1960.

  • @TSOKES haha you said it brazil always produced great players.but ONLY when Pele played they won 3 world cups. before that nothing. after Pele it took them 24 years...

santos was nothing before pele. a team of a small city of half a million people. after pele they did nothing again for decades.

you ppor fuck who has to invade desparately every single pele video!!!

    LOL

  • @sptwood05

C'mon BITCH, GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE, go and suck a dick with ur master.

    Football AIN'T FOR GAYS.

  • @TSOKES italiaoval come on reveal yourself!

your views in football are a total joke!! you are the laughing stock of youtube vids and you know it.

grow upo and watch maradona if you like him so much

  • 1° pelé 2°ronaldo 3°garrincha 4°croif 5°bechembawer 6°romário 7°zidani 8°di stefano 9°paulo rossi 10°rivaldo 11°dario rodrigues 12°messi 13°biro biru 14°maradonna kkkkkkkkk... trash
  • Pedernera was better than Pelé. Di Stefano was better than Pelé. Kempes was better than Pelé.

Maradona was better than Pelé. Nowadays, Messi is better than Pelé.There will always be an argentinian better than Pelé.

  • wow...the skills are not that great...but the defense sucks.

  • overrated bitch

  • @elmagicomessi exactly, no offside at his time and bad defenders

  • @FilmzHD11

brazil won the world cup in 62 w/o him & this fuck saying everytime : i won 3 !!!!

if he was great why didn't he go to europe & prove that

  • @elmagicomessi hes shit and overrated, he thinks that he's the best but he can suck Messi's dick

  • @elmagicomessi Pele won his first world cup at 17, Messi still hasn't even been to a world cup final. You really think Messi is better? The brazilians are #1 in soccer, he didn't need to go to europe to prove it because he was playing in the number 1 soccer country. Duh.

  • @elmagicomessi Because in that era, Europe wasn't at the level it was now. Pele and Santos use to travel the world and beat everyone. Europe got good after Pele's days so Pele was playing the best competition in those days.

  • @FilmzHD11 Pele was pulling moves that players today are still doing. Pele owns, dumbass.

  • @elmagicomessi Of course a messi fan would say that. Typical bias answer.

  • I'd like to see pele pull that stuff against todays defenders, how bout he play against real madrid and try that stuff on pepe...

  • 4 ever

  • pele is the best !!!

  • Around 80 matches a year back then, no dry clothing, heavy ball and no advanced therapists,no advanced surgery and diets as the one these days....Pele didn't had an easy football era like most ignorants say, back then it was still hard to score...he just did because he was a great player...

  • @Tumorikaxx

Watta wanker u are. U r ADMITTING urself by ur own words that that era was UNDEVELOPED and AMATEUR, but yet you claim it was tough to score back then !! He faced whom ?! Playing 80 matches in 9 months !! In 270 days 80 matches = 1 match every 3 days.

Imagine him in the modern era playing 80 matches a season in TOP LEVEL. He would've been DEAD in 2 months.

He had bad conditions YES, but the level and capacity backthen were LIMITED, VERY LOW.

  • @Tumorikaxx I agree. No yellow/red cards, defenders were much toucher. Especially the south-americans. Every game was a fight.... Pele is just the best player ever. The best en most complete. Speed, full control, you name it, pele got it all...

  • @Tumorikaxx but you just described a super modern day footballer where every player is super fit, how do you run through that? answer: messi :)

  • back when pele played it was cleaner air and less worry, the players today dont have half the skill as back then. nor the charisma, pele use to go into the stands at half time and ask for something round like a orange or something like that and he would juggle in the middle of the stands just for there enteratinment. todays soccer is half of what it was then. thanks

  • 15 dislikes for maradona btu Pele is still officiolly #1

  • @lulootdotcom are you ok, if bench players for barca want to this time they wold be stars the training back then was nothing compared to how it is now most players back then started training after they finished school and they still made it pro so dont talk if you dont know anything

  • @Lulootdotcom - Actually I am pretty sure Pele will be a benchwarmer in any top clubs in today's football.. Maybe not even a sub in barca and real =)

  • @holahola84 greatness is greatness in any generation and you're a dumbass for saying that. Put Pele in today's game and he would still be great because he would have the same opportunities and advanced training that these players have nowadays. Also, the shit that he's doing in that video you can't teach either you have it or you don't and Pele has it and some. He would be great today.

  • @DharmaTreasury - Yes that's true.. The video shows the defenders at that era is slow and has no defending tactical sense. Well he is still a good player and best player at his time. But can't compare him with Messi =\

  • jugaba contra equipos de 4º en brasil contra el atletico paranacito del torneo regional que jugaban en los estaduales, y los 1000 goles son puro tocuen (mas de la mitad los hizo en partidos amistosos)

  • hahahhha Ranlido, Ranlidinho, Marrorio, Merdi '(messi), Cheiradonna, etc.

  • CADE A PORRA DO CU DE GULLITTY? CU DE BOLINHA DE GUDE? RUDY GULLIT?

  • Today's stars would be bench warmers in Pele's time. Any crappy player can be a star today. Money rules football now. So you cannot see much talent anymore. In Pele's time defenders were less restricted. It was easier to injure an offensive player. In Pele's time, there were 100's of stars whose talents are far superior to what you call stars today!!!

  • Eminem - stan..

  • Comment removed

  • A legend of his time, no doubt. But he would get eaten alive today.

  • pele is awesome by far the best footballer ever he is my idol

  • Neymar e Messi tem que comer muito arroz feijão pra chegar perto do que foi Pelé.

  • Oh man.., he got killer skills. So fast.., i never though that Pele was playing like this. No weakness at all.

  • @Gudang9 No weakness? Funny. You are overrating him. Extraordinary? Yes? Flowless? No.

  • @torimaxfm1511 As striker, he is perfect. Good dribble, strong, fast, high jump, what else? What is his weakness?

  • @Gudang9 Well, when u say it like that, it looks like he has no flows. But every player has 'em.

  • Pele the greatest ever..... Messi who? maybe this era's great but this man is Legend

  • its his feet nn its a nice song by eminem that goes wiff the video

  • pele skills in HD ----lol

  • Best player of all time

  • he best footballer ever ? HAHAHAHa..You shoud change the title to " Pele the most overrated player EVERR " lol

  • @brian2010lal oh shut the fuck up u moron

i bet u know nothing about football

  • @torimaxfm1511 Pele was no Better than Didier Drogba !! Overrated as f*** !!! A player who don't make it to Europe...lol..OVER_RATED

  • @brian2010lal Wow you bring up the same excuse all the time and when you are proven wrong you run away and find another argument...

  • @brian2010lal I dont know if i should sorry for you or correct you. When Pele Played Brazil was the center of the football universe. He destroyed the top European clubs, taking Santos to 2 Intercontinental Cups, hat-trick away v the great Benfica side. . His greatness rests on far more than goals- left foot right foot headers. Most of the games he played in were not recorded. PLayers had less protection back then he would be better today withe modern rules NUFF SAID NOW GO TO BED

  • @popglide Untill Pele showed he can deliver outside Santos..especially in Europe ..he will always be over-rated..and will NEVER be the best..He may have been the best in the weak Brazil leaque but he sure aint the best in the world..He would not last a single season in today's football..By the way even the Brazillian Ronaldo was million times better than Pele who hid in Brazil to hide his shortcomings..

  • @brian2010lal Brazilian league had the best players, Brasil won 3 of 4 World Cups (1958-1970) and the entire team played in Brazil.

  • @brian2010lal pele if fucking your mother right now......

  • @NancyxBrito what are you ? 5 years old ? hahajaja.

  • @brian2010lal no... no i'm not

  • @popglide I don't know why you keep on arguing with people whose preposterousness and mundaneness can not make them reason properly, and helas, many are being racist, nothing more....

  • @brian2010lal Pele isn't overrated. Football changes as time passes by. If Pele would stil play football like he did in his time, he would suck, cause the football is now faster, and the physichal strenght is much more important than back then. But 60 years ago, it was all about the dribling, and the agility.

  • @torimaxfm1511 IF PELE WOULD HAVE PLAYED IN TODAYS, PROBABLY HE WOULD HAVE WON ANOTHER TWO WORLD CUPS AND MULTIPLE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS. ANY PROFESIONAL PLAYER IN TODAYS WOULD LIKE TO PLAY 50 PERCENT OF THE SKILLS PELE POSSESED

  • @tonchititito I agree with you that he is an extraordinary player(back then), but in nowdays football, he would be nothing but a piece of shit.

  • @torimaxfm1511 Well you should consider that what you are saying is only a theory, therefore it has no validation in real history. history of football is concrete and based on specific facts. The specific fact here is that Pele participated in 4 world cups and won three. He was not a super athlete like messi or cr7, but a hardworking man. sorry but you are just jealous. at least you are jealous of the best!

  • Comment removed

  • @torimaxfm1511 yes but a great footballer evolves. pele was the greatest. he might not be like the messi and ronaldo of tday but if he played in our era and adapted he would have been a world class player for sure.

  • @NancyxBrito Well, perhaps u r right.. Dunno, I'm stil behind my own opinion

  • @torimaxfm1511 i got to respect tht

  • @NancyxBrito Thank you

  • @torimaxfm1511 SWearing the last refuge of the stupid..... Go to bed you little boy you are in the company of men stop argueing like a child... It is you who knows nothing

  • @popglide It is I who know's nothing? LOL Get a life.. I hate to see stupid men talking trash about legends

  • this video is stolen.........randomyanke just change song

  • Pele is the best forever.

  • The Fact is Pele Is the Greatest thus far & it will be near Impossible to top him. If he played today he would only be better.

  • The best!!

  • What does the song Stan got to do with Pele? O.o

  • @Dassykid maybe cuz stan its eminems biggest fan and were Pele's biggest fans? my best guess

  • ééééé eeeee do brasil xD

  • maradona made 12 different accounts to dislike

  • @miquelencielo in 1970 pele was already a veteran, but he was the key player. He scored 4 times and jairzinho 7. in the final against Italy (4 - 1) he scored the first goal with his head and gerson second; he gave the assist for the third and fourth goal, scored by jair and carlos alberto torres. and still you are saying he should not get any credit, because everyone in the team was great except he. that looks very suspicious...................................

  • @miquelencielo A greater or more successful player than pele has yet to be born, You need to win the world cup at least by the age of 17; you need to win more world cups then Pele did ; you need to score more goals than he has scored. You must be a master in scoring the glorious bicicleta's 3: 42 & 4:55. with only one world cup win, you can never be better than pele. if you were that good you would have won more world cups; that is the highest level of playing football.

  • the best

  • MARADONA dribbling 5 plyers, pele 2 and 3 , no more ... hug man

  • @AndresMozart pele 1283 goals, maradona? pele 3 world cups, maradona? hmmm ok.

  • @markfaviere Pele : Hiding in the shelter of the Golden generation and rode his luck and played in a weak Brazil leaque and was never tested in another leaque and he was a little mouse afraid to test his skills outside his comfort zone because he knew his ASS was going to get exposed............Maradona on the other hand Carried Argentina and almost single handedly lift a WC for Argentina and a trophy for Napoli almost all by himself!!

  • @brian2010lal WRONG. Try rsssf.brazil and Pele autobiography. Check the games Pele didn't play in 59-69 20losses in 45 national Brazil games, 82 wins in 130 games he played.

Check footballdatabase.eu and type Diego Maradona and check his win-loss.

Pele improved Santos 67% Maradona his Europe Teams 8%.

Your opinions are subjective, these are fact! Dont believe me? Check for yourself another cliche man.

  • @THEWARDSTER Bottom line : Maradona carried two teams (Argentina and Napoli) almost all by himself and helped them to achieve trophies that would have never been achieved by these two sides...On the other hand...Brazil would still win all the three world cup trophies Pele won even if Pele was not in Brazil squad because they were fantastic with or without Pele and so was Santos.Even if Ibrahimovic was playing then in Pele's place Brazil would still win the world cup so is Santos !!!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @THEWARDSTER I am pretty sure Pele joined Santos in 1956 and Santos actually won Campeonato Paulista just the previous season 1955...So to be honest Santos actually did not need Pele to win something like Napoli needed Maradona to win !!!

  • @brian2010lal Yes they did win this domestic League before Pele who would go on to smah the scoring records which are yet to be broken.

Again like I've told you this isn't the competitions I'm on about. These are the Brazilian Nationals, the combined Sao Paulo and Rio Leagues and Intercontinental. In these competitions as I said earlier Santos lost 20 out of 45 from 59-69 without Pele but won 82 out of 130 games he played. Their points per game was 0.60 better with Pele.

  • @THEWARDSTER yes..Pele did help Santos to win lots of trophies ...again..Santos would still win most of those trophies if not all even if Pele was not there !! Beside, there is nothing special about his goals and his skills that can WOW you..If his best goals are the ones that are posted here in youtube..I would even go further and say even Cristiano Ronaldo would have done better job than Pele if he were playing for Brazil in 60 & 70 ..based on their raw talents i observe !!

  • @brian2010lal For the record in this domestic Sao Paulo League they averaged 1.57 points per game in Pele's 410 games, far greater than the 1.31 with the 110 games without him. These points differences Pele makes of 0.26 and 0.6 points per game, far outweigh Maradonas 0.09.

Also Napoli for Maradona to be a one man team only improved slightly to a mere 8th place in his first year when the title was won by a dismal Verona side.

  • @brian2010lal They then won the League two years later with the addition of three top Italians Bagni, Ferrara and Di Napoli among others. Later added for the 2nd title was Alameo and Careca.

Sampdoria 91 Verona 85 Roma 83 also won League Titles with hardly teams of outstanding players.

Teams lacked superstar depth then in general and this allowed teams like Derby, Real Sociedad and Forest to win the League. If your top players stayed fit this was enough to pose a challenge.

  • @brian2010lal If he was capable of winning all by himself surely points per game would drop shed loads without him yeh? yeh? Or isn't this what you mean. If not could you please explain what you mean if one man team doesn't mean the teams suffer by a significant amount when he doesn't play. I've just told you a fact his teams drop very little without him.

In fact Barcelona won a domestic double and Cup Winners Cuyp the year after he departed. If their this good why not with the one man team?

  • @THEWARDSTER The fact is Maradona did carried two teams ie Argentina and Napoli who would have never won those trophies they won..on the other hand Brazil would still win all those 3 trophies without Pele so was Santos ...mainly because they were already strong and good teams !!!

  • @brian2010lal Argentina won a World Cup and 2 straight straight COPAS without him (91&93). Your speculating! I'm telling you a FACT that Peles sides drop far more in results than Maradonas.

Your welcome to check rsssf.brazil footballdatabase.eu and get the Pele autobiography to cross refernce games he missed to compare. Also fotballdatabase.eu type Maradona and you get the clubs w-d-l record with him in the side. You can then check performance when he's not and drop minimal.

  • @brian2010lal I don't know how many times I have to tell you Santos were only strong with Pele in side. They lost 20 in 45 without him(59-69), and only 25 in 130 with him at thetop level games (Brazilian National top 10 clubs, far higher standard at that time then any European League winning 5 straight National Titlles)

Johnny Haynes is an absolutes legend Derby County won 2 titles with him won nothing since, so's Jesus Berategui catalyst in Real Sociedad 2 staright titles(80-81) first time.

  • @brian2010lal Sure they were srong in the Paulista your own about these is just the regional League. The meat and 2 veg is when the top 5 of this League join the Rio League, and when the champions from Paulista join the other regional champions for the National Championship, and also the COPA Lipertadores for the champion.

Santos (59-69) without Pele in regional League averaged 1.37ppg, in the higher standards just 0.84ppg

Pele raised these when in teams to 1.57 and 1.44.
