  • 06:51 Best track

  • "thank you" see this video I became sentimental go to those good times this is my game Faborit

  • It would have worked better with some James BROWN.

  • gotta love the lightmaps

  • What the hell is this? The quake II I played 11 years ago certainly wasn't like this. It was in first person view, the character was a a guy, colours were a bit different and on top of that it hadn't high-quality music like this!

Can someone explain? Is this a remastered version or a mod?

  • @WXKFA you can change your character..

  • @DerViking - this is speed run of this game. 10 min video and this player is already halfway through. Normally it takes at least 90 min to reach last level in this vid.

  • @alewis514 That dosen;t make sense, you just said 10 mins is half-way, so 20 would be the total lol

  • WTH? My Quake II didn't slide like that and was nowhere nearly as fast paced as that... :S

  • they need to remake quake 2. like i dont care if its the same thing, i just want amazing graphic, will make it epic

  • @MetaITV U don't need amazing Graphics for Quake II It would just end like Halo: Reach like a normal fuckin' Alien Kind Shooter Quake II shouldn't be remaked it would destroy the original ;)

  • @HelllordxD well if anything, im still waiting for Quake 5 arena!

  • omfg! awesome speedrun you fuck up!!

  • Great Classic, Great Soundtrack !!

    The Last Song Rocks

  • I totally used to pop the game disc in my walkman and jam to these tunes when I was growing up. Ahh, the good ol' times.

  • what would we do without quake? no half life, no col of duty, no counter strike, nothing....

  • @kneteanimator yeah but there would be no Quake without Doom. There would be no Doom without Wolfenstein 3D, no Wolfenstein 3D without Hovertank so on... ;)

  • lol the monsters at 2:17 are like WTF where'd she go?

  • That video was mesmerizing.

  • This game was awesome! I played it with my 3DFX card, using those GLIDE driver...

  • @FightingWarrior yup endless hours and loved playing multiplayer

  • Anyone has any idea how to get the music in quake 2 working? My one does not run the music.

  • @buzzier2341

I remember the musics runned like a normal audio cd from that years, so you have to link the XA audio cable from cd/dvd-reader to audiocard, as it was standard in those years...

  • @FightingWarrior Thanks for telling me.

  • This is the first time I've seen anything at all related to this game, and right now it seems kind of dumb to me. I know this whole sequence of that girl running around killing everything lightning fast is supposed to be awesome, but it keeps on feeling like it's the same sort of awesome as a kid running through the woods, hitting stuff with a stick. Except this feels like it's pretending to be ACTUALLY cool. In other words, to me, Quake 2 is pretentious.

  • @TheToast7 it's a speedrun dude

  • @evidentlychickentown Yeah, I realize that now. Sorry for being a jerk.

  • wtf this game is crazy...you like slide across the floor and somehow jump like 50 feet

  • @Alexz1909 Well this is PC version ... so it has console and you can do pretty much everything :P

  • @battleforfreedom Non of the console variables were changed for the video...

  • BEST VIDEO GAME EVER!!!

  • PSX version is way more superior that PC... And yeah... PC version is VERY BROWN. One of the best games i have ever played(PSX)... or maybe even the best. And it has the best game soundtrack..... In The World.

  • @battleforfreedom but isn't quake suposed to be in 1st person o.0...how diid he recorded it like that

  • "PSX version is way more superior that PC" that's the best joke I heard in ages.

  • @dokzero5

for me its way more superior because i always played it when i was younger and it was the best game for me... after some years i remembered it and tried to play it on PC... and well... PC version was NOTHING like PSX.

  • @battleforfreedom if it's a nostalgia, y I can see that, but saying that it's a better version is ridiculous

  • 6:52 is great. I remember putting that green and black quake 2 game disk in the cd player!

  • it was sonic mayhem and nine inch nails that did this soundtrack

  • epic game

  • Rob Zombie? Really? Wow. Didn't really like Quake II when it came out, but the soundtrack is headbangingly good.

  • what just happend at 4:36

  • Everything in this game is freeken brown.

  • @DoomThroughDoom Welcome to Stroggos, son.

  • plus give me link of original of this video not only sound i wanna watch to the end i make fastest walk in around 1 h it is less than 20 min i think

  • so good walktrought!!

  • Good video ;)

  • OMG, I also have the PSX version of this. It's actually pretty good compared to the PC version. Great game.

  • Me too it was a pretty good conversion :D

  • This dude has low grav on?

  • I like the song "Kill Ratio" better on Quake 2

  • lolololololololol

  • 6:50 is definitely the best song in the game.

  • What`s the name of this song?

  • 4:01 great videogame

  • 08:13

  • OMFG, I could watch this video all day!

    It's so badass.

  • Carmacks own fav game :D seeing this vid makes me wanna reinstall it hehe :p

  • Did trent Reznor return for this game?

  • Comment removed

  • 8:58 = Wall-E's evil cyborg brother (of do0m). XD

  • O_o how is this 3rd person?

  • you can record game play in game and watch it later. Most PC FPS games have a command for it.

  • I still play one of these tracks (the last one on this video) for soundchecks sometimes. I've started many a conversation with that riff...

  • great game

  • still my favorite shooter of all time

  • sonic mayhem! i wish i had offical quake2 cd so i could listen to that music. :D

  • Do people still play multiplayer?

  • I don't think so, well its 12 years since release, it is time to put this game to rest in memories.

  • No good games stay for ever !

  • There are some small circles of people who sitll tear through it. You need Gamespy Arcade to connect with em.

  • does anyone remember the multiplayer level mainframe?? the begining music for that level was my favourite but i can never find it anywhere, anyone out there hav it or no wat im on about??

  • * * Sonic Mayhem * *

  • Oh yes indeed. genius.

  • The games soundtrack was too good,

I HAD to rip the music

  • Descent into Cerberon, best track on this thing.

  • yep! that's right!

  • White Zombie |,,| |,,|

  • Oh man, this has got to be some of the Heaviest music in the video game world... Reminds me of Red Alert!

    I love it!

  • Yeah you are right it does sound like Klepacki could have donethe music to Q2:D

  • Q2 has dope music.

    Love this game!

  • 02:28 <3 OMG I love that part sooo mutch !

  • KILLEM!

  • Its like a Sonic shoot em up! XDD

  • I had a hard time adjusting to this "sequel" when it was such a departure from the direction id took in the first one, but I forgot how wicked the OST was.

  • Eh. I wouldn't even go as far as calling it a "sequel". In my opinion, the original quake was to much of a spin off of Doom, but then Quake 2 came along then BOOM! It had quite an interesting story line to it.

  • I kind of agree.

The first Quake felt like it was going in a different direction from the sequels.

I prefer the first one in the series, myself, although Quake 2 did have a kickass soundtrack.

  • @Calistro

First Quake was different, you're right, this second one was more like an updated Doom... Great game!

  • @Calistro yeah, I think ID can make quake 5 (if theres gonna be one) alot more like quake 1, I mean I like the middle ages feeling quake 1 has with castles and all that in stead of high tech space battles.

  • This is still one of my favorite FPS of all time. My friends and I in college played the heck out of it and went to tournaments like Gib-O-Rama in Houston, TX, LanWar in KY and CPL tournaments like the The Frag 2 and Extreme Annhilation in Dallas, TX. We usually cleaned up at the local and regional tournies but I never made it past the 2nd round of 1on1's at the CPL tournies. It was still awesome meeting lots of the people in person that you played online.

    Brian aka B-Nut[WCS]

  • Super intense music for a super intense game. Quake II is still one of the best FPS' ever.

  • 8:24, that song brings back memories. I own the soundtrack and that's my favorite song there.

  • jesus friggin christ garudoh especially at 7:20

  • hell yeah Quake 2 has the best soundtrack for FPS

  • QUAKE 2 IS A LEGEND OF A GAME!

  • Yeaaaaaaaa quake rock's !!!

  • I love this game ^^, we play it in school all the time ^^, but I got to say that most of the music is kind of lame.
