Generally there will be an extractor on the bolt face that pulls the casing out of the chamber by hooking into the rim. From there, some rifles have a spring loaded pin that presses against the opposite side of the head of the casing. Others will have a tab that, as the bolt passes by, will strike the opposite side of the back of the casing, on the head, and send it out of the ejection port.
now thats what i call a lowered and flared ejection port!
