But the fact of the matter is, Austin led whole business, not just the many superstars, at the time help was needed most. Thus, this made him the most important "thing" in WWE.

He may not have been the best wrestler, and may not be the most mult-talented actor (Rock for example), but he was/is/will be the biggest star of all time (fact).

Hogan was an icon, just like George Mikan of basketball, for a long time. Rock was a great choice of stars to help buy Austin some time when Austin's neck needed to be healed in 1999/2000, and went on to become a megastar on his own.

I ended up crying, fact of the matter is I started watching WWE when WWF Attitude first came around in 98-99'. My dad showed me what it was like, I didn't really like it until Stone Cold came up. I really liked his character and knowing that Stone Cold was kickin' ass every Monday night I couldn't wait for a great show. Everytime he came up the ratings soared.
