Someone should make a heroscape videogame with maps and map editor, existing characters, and possibly character skins and powers editor, and gameplay mechanics where they possibly run and do basic movements for attacks and dodges, and even a list of rules that can change if you want like in the board game. I can imagin it, i would love it, it might not be mainstream but at least it would bring all the army pices into the fans living rooms and it would be cool to share maps and battle online.
lol the plus 8 was for initiative, meaning after all players take their turn and roll the twenty sided die again, the player with that glyph gains plus 8 to the twenty sided die roll.
@Haku1234567890 Actually, if the roll comes up exactly 20, you live. If you roll 1-19, the figure in question is immediately destroyed. So yes, actually, it is quite deadly.
@qloktheinvincible well, it's not deadly then... it's just unwalkable... I mean, I don't play this game, but does ANYONE ever even take the risk of killing his own character on a 1/20 chance??
@T0rche No, people really don't -- at least from what I understand. I never did get ahold of a copy of that pack, so. And as far as overall deadliness is concerned, it's 95% deadly, so we can call it good at that. XD
Heh, so I was wrong. We've never played a game where anyone made it ten or more levels higher than another person, so we've never used it. I guess I just forgot that it said that. lol, sorry.
do the miniatures come painted out of the box or is it like warhammer and many other miniature wargames where you get a sprue of un-made and unpainted figures and you do it all yourself?
Love the review ... been playing HS with my son since it came out, and these reviews make me want to play it right now, even though we just got finished playing an hour ago.
Not to be a total HS Geek, but that should be "+8 for initiative" not "attack." ;-)
And, at the beginning of each round, after rolling for initiative, all the glyphs that were turned over, are taken off the bored, mixed up, and replaced at random places face down. Makes it so that a person couldn't just have a figure sitting on a certain glyph through the entire game.
We also have a couple house rules for the glyphs. Firstly, we use one of the artifact glyphs, and when someone lands on it, the glyph is a one shield defense for three turns for that character, as long as it is a hero figure, who doesn't have a one shield defense power already.
When a new person comes into my gaming group, we do a really short game using the basic rule set, so that they can get use to playing the game. I've found that it's good to ease the people in who've never played these kinds of games.
We also never use the order markers, because it just makes it so much more boring. We like to just choose order as we go. We still do the three turns per round though.

@Haku1234567890 He misspoke obviously, he meant you have to role a 20 to survive, at least I think that is what he meant.
