  • The Debt Ceiling under President Reagan was raised eighteen times to a total of $1.85 trillion (See Table 7.3). This is less than the $3 trillion-plus already raised under President Obama! Raising the Ceiling 18 times during the eight Reagan years meant a Ceiling battle every 5.3 months (on average), with an average rise of only $102 billion per increase. So… does Obama really want to get the Reagan Treatment?

  • I make all of my money off of rich peoples disposable income.

  • The ultimate "trickle-down" economics is Keynesianism where gov't "stimulates" the economy by flying over businesses with helicopters full of taxed, printed, borrowed & redistributed cash.

The Fed & IRS corrupt crony politicians with power to redistribute, borrow & debase to buy “support” from Special Interest Groups, Unions, “Too Big to Fail” Corporations, the Military-Industrial Complex & Wall Street cartel.

  • The money is there. It's there for the taking. But you have to get off your lazy ass and go get it. No one is going to hand it to you. If you are content with working at mcdonalds then dont complain because the government isnt handing you a huge check. The rich invest in the hard working middle class. Where do you think business loans come from? The magic pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

Stop whining and start a business, go to school, or anything else that can get you a bigger paycheck.

  • @f35caleb You should be happy that someone is willing (content?) to work that McDonald's job and every other exploitive, underpaid job in this country... wealth and income are relative; your income means nothing but it's relative value with respect to others. The working poor are requisite to our form capitalism, without them wealth and more income are meaningless. Wealth is nothing more than a measure of the degree to which we can exploit others; ugly but true.

  • @f35caleb You're wrong; the rich (businesses) are not "investing" in the hard working middle class; that's the problem. "They" are doing everything possible to shirk their "responsibility", as you imply, of "providing" employment by constant productivity improvements (less work per product) and moving work overseas or south of the border in the name of greed. That in turn, erodes the very foundation of demand "they" need for "their" products. Greed has very poor forsight...

  • Good Politics channel like every second word is fuck.

  • btw props for sounding kind of like patton oswalt when pissed

  • you know of all the political theory and arguments I've heard, nothing sums up the lie of trickle-down theory quite as well as the simple words WHERE'S THE FUCKING MONEY.

lol i suppose the average corporatist a-hole would probably try to convince us that we didn't work hard enough for it, but those of us in the working class goddamn know better than that, don't we.

  • i agree brother, i got a job working construction at 7.25 an hour, i cant afford health insurance and i can hardly afford that one bedroom apartment I call a home. The government takes about 50-60 bucks out of my paycheck a week. I want to ask obama why a 20 year old who can piss clean, hasnt eaten anything other than potatoes for 3 weeks. Wheres my fucking money!

  • Credit for the lose!

  • "WHERE'S THE FUCKING MONEY?!"

"And if we're a 'great WONDERFUL NATION'...! ...is to go shopping."

    LOL

  • You sir, are an idiot!

  • this guy needs a xanax

  • yes it is time so lets do it we have the power to take control if you shut down all movement in the us you will get change thats the only way

  • ok i got it got o my site and look up a vid i did called america wake up

  • The rest of them are carnies in suites!!!

  • Go out to the curb or the alley and tell the garbage man he doesn't work hard next time.

  • "Go out to the curb or the alley and tell the garbage man he doesn't work hard next time."

Thats not the point. You don't understand labor supply and demand curves. Demand for skills needed to be a garbage man is less than supply of those skills. Meaning wage gets driven down. Thats how a wage is determined, these are realities that cant be escaped. If you want a higher wage gain a less replaceable skill.

  • We have the only for-profit health care system in the world and insurance companies are spending 1.5 million dollars a DAY to spread anti-socialized medicine propaganda - That isn't including the million + dollar bonuses to CEO's of these companies. HEY! Those bonuses aren't free either, Clyde. We have a system that puts a fucking CEO between you and your doctor, doesn't make you wait for your care, but boots your ass right off the plan if you get sick, and care is rationed... to the wealthy!

  • "We have the only for-profit health care system in the world"

Our system has its flaws, but because its for profit it also the most innovative. The US is the leader in medical technology and has the highest skilled doctors. This is because its for profit individuals and companies have incentive to enter the field and innovate. The rest of the world piggy backs off US research and technology.

  • You have to get the money yourself. Maybe you haven't seen the money since your waiting for it instead of seeking it. Most people with money didn't get it on accident. Look at when we had a 70% tax bracket under Nixon and carter. The economy stalled.

  • Show me the money!

  • There is nothing wrong with people making millions of dollars, but there's a difference between someone who starts a company because of their interest and knowledge of their product line as compared to someone that buys a company with the sole intention of making money-Generally, quality suffers as do profits. There are a lot of business owners who have no knowledge of their business, and everyone suffers for that. Again, their business wouldn't be shit without the employees who know their jobs.

  • "knowledge of their product line as compared to someone that buys a company with the sole intention of making money-Generally, quality suffers as do profits"

Thats why capitalism works. If quality suffers the company goes under. Business owners with no knowledge or at least without the knowledge to reward and retain top employees don't stay around long.

  • That is exactly why the health care "industry" needs to be absolved. We have the only for profit healthcare system on the planet and the only concern has become fiduciary. That is not helping anyone, and those million-dollar bonuses for insurance company CEO's are not free either, pus bag.

  • "the only concern has become fiduciary. That is not helping anyone"

No, it helps everyone people all around the world. Yes our system is expensive, but you can get the most cutting edge treatment now from the best doctors in the world. This because its for profit. The best doctors come the US because they can make more money. Medical technology companies also have high incentive create new better preventative and surgical technology. The monetary rewards in the US give incentive to improve

  • Their is a ton of risk involved in creating new drugs and medical tech. Companies won't invest in the research if their isn't a large reward. Just like top students won't become doctors if there isn't a large monetary reward. Other nations such as france and sweden rely on the US medical systems research to improve their healthcare tech.

  • What a ton of predictable right wing horseshit. Yeah - You're right. I don;t know shit, and I suppose I should be voting to toss even more money at the wealthy. You eggheaded backroom conservatives only concern yourselves with the bottom line, and factors like morale that are very real get ignored. This is why your GOP is dying a rapid death.

  • "I suppose I should be voting to toss even more money at the wealthy. "

The wealthy are wealthy because they earn it not because anyone "tosses money at them." Sorry but morale doesn't turn around an economy, policy does. The one reason the GOP is struggling is because bush wasn't a true small government conservative. Look at Obama's approval rating, people are realizing his policies infringe on their freedom and don't work. Thats the bottom line.

  • Cronyism or inheriting your parents' estate does not constitute "hard work" asshole!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Do you have a problem with money being passed down to children and grandchildren? Is so why? Don't want to fight or anything but would love to get your thoughts on your statement. Thanks.

  • Not at all - I just have a problem with people referring to RECEIVING this money as "hard work".

  • I read a lot of those kinds of books about how to acheive success. The principles you must have within and carry out in order to accumulate wealth. Things you must challenge in your vision statements and comfort zones. The thing I find that just pisses me off to no end...All the principles, values, and thought process that one must observe and challenge to accumulate wealth is THE EXACT OPPOSITE of the what the govt preaches does. As I said before. Read Think and Grow Rich..Napolean Hill.

  • I see. I think I have always taken that kind of statement to mean that the "dollar itself" represents "a dollars worth of hard work". Even if it is passed on to someone lazy. At the same time I think we have to be careful these day in kind of demonzing the "rich". I have always said that unitl someone reads the book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and really try to apply all those principles to their life...they have NOOO RIGHT to complain about wealth in this country. contd...

  • It's even worse to demonize the poor. I don't know how many times I've been accused of being on food stamps, lazy- whatever here on Youtube. I've held a full time job almost every day of my life, bought a house, & paid a larger percentage of taxes than those who can afford their own accountants & loopholes, & it has been fairly painless, but I also have been afforded the benefit of enjoying my work, which is its own reward as well. No problem with inheritance here just don't call it "hard work".

  • I wouldn't say it is "worse" to demonize the poor...I say it is equally as dumb and ignorant to demonize ANY person based on their SES! I have always said that if you could take the worthless 10% out of every class, race, religion, and govt...this world would be SOOOOO much better lol!! Thanks for having these civil exchanges with me. I do appreciate it!!

  • Nobody suffers like the poor, my friend.

  • Why do liberals use morale when it is serves your cause. That word never comes up with abortion. You want Jesus out of everthing..the very sight of a cross is offensive to you ..UNTIL..it is time to pass health care. Then they stand up in Washington and say.."JESUS WOULDN'T ASK FOR HEALTH CARD". I agree with you partly though..Govt economics should act on a "bottom line" bases. We as individual should pursue morale. But when a collective trys to inforce morale..you get what we got now.

  • Here's a small answer then. The U.S. is the only country with a for profit healthcare system. There's discretion in these matters, clearly, but it's not been allowed in this country for decades, but that is changing,& YOUR type will have to continue wandering the Earth with your black & white,on/off, dumb-ass hard-ons showing. You look even dumber as you aren't a millionaire defending these pusbags. The furniture company guy in New Jersey - Okay- he's a millionaire, but he also has a conscience.

  • You totally overlook the fact - that's FACT Clyde - That these assholes have absolutely prayer running their own companies because they don't know how to do the WORK. My boss can't even make a color copy on his own - let alone design the packages for his own products (which he has no clue how to manufacture either). These people would be so fucked without the people to do the work, and they are thankless bags of pus.

  • You don't like "trickle down"? So tell me: Who was the last POOR person to give you a job?

  • You are so off point. Go tell it to Lee Atwater you cock.

  • Hahaha! I knew your type couldn't answer!

  • Where's the money? Government spent it.

  • No fucking wonder! Your a 14-year-old head-up-your-dumb-ass punk. Get out of Mom and Dad's place and start paying some bills with your brilliant fucking mind and hard work - THEN come whining back about this horseshit, punk. Why am I even wasting my fucking time. Go watch the motherfucking Power Rangers shit head.

  • Didn't say they all inherit it, but I know a few millionaires, and they don't pay their bills, they don't work hard, and they are as stupid as peat moss. They only guy that would be considered "smart" is a flim-flam man. I don't appreciate people accusing those who are getting shit on and are poor DON"T work - I'm sick of that tired line. Tell any fucking mechanic or garbage man they don't work hard - You know what - Blow it out your fucking ass!!

  • "Tell any fucking mechanic or garbage man they don't work hard"

Well I worked factory jobs during the summers in college and many people didn't work very hard. This isn't they point though a doctor, lawyer, or good CEO has skills in higher demand than a garbage man. I could do garbage mans job even if he works hard he couldn't do my job. You need to learn about labor supply and demand curves.

  • The rich are truly hogs - I love this line too "you are jealous of those people that work hard for their money" - I never knew that inheriting twelve million dollars constituted "hard work". The rich are also major cowards - Biggest pussies on Earth and it wouldn't take much to shake 'em down. Thanks for clarifying that the only "ideas" Republicans have to solve any problem is to toss more money at the wealthy. Assholes!

  • Try not to generalize as it leaves you looking quite ignorant to those who know anybody who breaks your steriotypes. I myself live in a middle class family but I do know a family that is upper class. And not only was hard work put into earning every single cent, but the hard work and stress continues today. Not all wealthy people inherit their money, and even if that do, it doesn't mean they don't work hard to hold an upkeep.

  • Lol for your answer, that money is being used on Strippers and Lap dancers, that's where the money is going.

  • This is an unprincipled form of

capitialism: it is more like the mindless

canabalism. Ask what kind of system

delivers this result and my answer

would be a kleptocracy which is

    pedatory and systemic in nature.

When goverment does not seek to

    regulate big business, big business

becomes the government. We are know

trying to find our way to take it back.

  • capitalism at its finest....good video...

  • yeah its like being the youngest in a big famill and theyre passin the popcorn or somethin on movie night or whatever. by the time it gets to you theres no more fuckin pop corn. not because there wasnt enough, there was plenty, but big brother jeff got fuckin greedy and started pourin popcorn into his lap for later because hes a dick like that

  • I agree Daryl, where is the money (lmao) great video

  • I agree!! Good job on this video!

  • Great Video..

    ~T

  • The money is in their pockets

  • i cant believe anyone in the 80's believed that if the republican'ts dont believe in welfare and charity only happens during elections. they are sitting on money just like the hilton family. I say instead of being angry now we should have listened to...

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." -- Thomas Jefferson

patriots are shedding blood but what about our past tyrants?

  • this video sounds like an interrogation haha

  • Have you noticed that most republicans say that we can't afford the stimulus package?

But just a few months ago they thought we can afford to pay 954 billion dollars for new fighter jets!

Thankfully obama(and the democrats) has stopped this and decided to spend the money on the economy which profits the people much more than state of the art fighter jets.

  • @13j07o92 Like the 9% unemployment, and the trillions he has increased spending and the stimulus which spent more money on pig odor research in Iowa than it did stimulate anything. Also remembering that in the Same amount of time as president Reagan took a 10% unemployment to 6% and obama has taken an 8% unemployment to 9%. As for those new fighter jets it cost about half as much to operate them than it does say F-16s, so in the long run would end up saving money. The facts disagree with you.

  • right on brother, I'm gonna buy my own island who's with me. Anyways, fukn love ya man. Keep at it.

  • If the top 1% would only pay the taxes they are expected to pay, we wouldn't be in the mess we are now!

Instead, they use every loop hole, tax shelter and "creative accounting" they can to pay less taxes than the average American.

  • That always seems to be a missed point when people are touting the benefits of capitalism - Most people are unaware that capital gains taxes top out at like 15% while the rest of us who actually do the work have to cough up 35% or better.

  • Do you understand what capital gains tax is? Most people who pay do work or are retired. The vast majority of people who have capital gains earned the capital by working. They did pay income taxes. By the way that capital is used to create jobs.

  • I understand that capital gains tops out at 15% or so - THAT IS THE POINT!!

  • "gains tops out at 15%"

I know that you are aware of that. You said "rest of us who actually do the work have to cough up 35%." What you're missing is that the vast majority of those paying capital gains do work they also payed 35% or better. Its not as if people paying capital gains don't work or didn't work very hard. What i am getting at is capital gains is similar to a double tax. Its too high we shouldn't have it at all.

  • Money? What money? I spent 6 years in the Army after 9/11... I was bringing in less that 30 g's a year the whole time. And I'm defending these assholes!

  • ur right that is some bullshit that rich people get more fuckin money to fridder away on upgrading to solid gold toilet seats and suped up leer jets. Oh and i forgot to mention the 100 dollar bill toilet paper rolls that come with a purchase of the toilet. While all the poor assholes on the bottom are eaten shit from above.

  • Were is the fucking money bitch!!!

    I want my fucking money!!!

    Trickle down my ass!!!

I want my mother fucking money!!!

Lets go get the fucking money, who's with me?!!?

  • the money doesnt fuckin trickle down it trickles up. when poor people buy shit it goes to fuckin rich people. not the other fuckin way around.

  • man everything is fucked each day thers more and more peopel lossing there jobs but yet gorden brown wants to send millions of £ s in aid over 2 gaza sorry but fuck that cahrity shoud begain at home

  • SHOW ME THE MONAYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Right on!

  • I remember in this country back in the 60's, if you were earning so many millions, the government would charge you 97.5% tax.

  • Sounds like the rich manipulated the Republicans into believing that they gave a shit about them.

  • What do you feel about Obama wanting to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on rebuilding Gaza? And what do you think about Hillary Clinton going to fund raisers for Israel when we have problems here?

  • You scared me <_<

  • maybe they forgot

  • Capitalism has destroyed our belief in any effective power but that of self interest backed by force.

  • heres an idea, instead of looking for a handout, work harder. I wasn't happy with money i was making before, so i started my own company, and now the money is nice i have. i donate to food drives, but why do you think you have a right to my money, cause i make more than you. remember, i also work hard, and proud of what i have.

  • Good point, but ahh... where are the jobs again? Hmmm...

  • if you can't find one, then make one for yourself. thats what i did. and trust me, the market i am is first to be cut back on, but if i wanted to expand i could, guess a bad market, means i have to turn away work.

  • I know, I was trying to be a smart ass... guess the ass over rode the smart part. This is actually a goo d time for buying if you find yourself in a position to do so. I'm currently on the verge of FINALLY becoming debt free. I have to use some of my retirement but it's a loan from me to me so I can only profit...

    Good luck in your endeavors.

  • oh, don't get me wrong, i am not spending like i would, i am taking a friend and her daughter to disney this summer, but not gonna pop for the high priced hotel, saving a little. but i am buying a second truck this year, for personal use, and light work use. i don't want the government to take more of my money, cause if i can be debit free, then i may start to hire employees. but atleast you are working to be debit free, too many people want the government to make them debit free.

  • Exactly, I know I got myself into this and I am the only one responsible for it. Why the auto industry and lending firms cannot get that through their craniums? I haven't a clue.

  • oh, i think the auto should have given some help(cause the banks would not loan like they used to) but if now toyota and nissan are losing sales, that shows the whole suv/truck issue was not right on. but what bugs me about the auto bailout, the government allowed japan companys not only to import, but build here in the state, but yet very few of our cars, are allowed in japan. so, i feel the government is kind of the reason that auto makers here needed some help. epa needs to lighten up too.

  • I don't think anyone is looking for a "hand out". I myself do fine. THe worse the economy, the more shows I get booked. I'm talking about the people who worked for CIrduit City, Best Buy, SUper Value, SHopKo, and other companies who have been forced to make cuts because the corporate heads jacked their future!

  • great point, but when i hear where is my money, that sounds like a handout. asfar as layoffs, coprate greed, my mom has now to do 2 peoples job, but the ceo of her company just bought a new bentley. but i also look at the governemt that way, we are hurting, but they want to increase taxes on things we buy. why don't they take a cut aswell. governement makes people put out thier hands, saying i make too much, so they have to take some of my money, to give it to people.

  • I didn't say "where's MY money"..I ask where the money was that our government PROMISED would be there. It's about accountability all the way around.

  • yeah, there should be accountility. but the government is never held accountable. case in point, auto makes are blasted for flying to washington, but congress o.k.s banks to fly the planes they own now, just can't buy new ones. if you wan't to see the money, just look at all the fed. programs, cause the fed has gotten too big, and oversteped states rights. look everytime the government bails out someone, tell a company how to run, our market tanks. keep them out of it, it does good.

  • I truly believe that if the government were to "bail out" the average income citizens; I.E. their debt, then we would boost the economy. Simply by being able to buy things without needing to worry about our current debts.(case in point, stimulus checks were used to pay debts or saved)

It sounds like socialism but it would work and it wouldn't be nearly as costly as these huge amounts they throw out to big businesses. And no one says it would need to happen ever again. Make it a one shot deal.

  • The money in question went into banks in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland. You know, where the rest of us people who are poor can't get to it?

  • i know! wealthy people need to be philantripists like bill gates and Michael Jackson. (lol 300 million dollers i know i was shoked too) You can enjoy your success buy a mansion but god donate what's left!

  • that's was fucking great.

    where's the money?

no idea hell all i have is 4.79 in the bank. shit i dont even think i can withdraw that much.

  • well unless W.'s daughters saliva is gonna trickle down on my dick.. I don't wnat to hear the wordstrickle down again!

  • somebody is cranky!

  • Am I first? Second maybe? OK, how bout 3rd? And I think I look like I'm about to have a stroke!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • I lost my job 2 months ago, so i am pissed also.

But the money is not there, it is vaporised.

Only 3% of the money is printed the rest are debts.

  • i guess the money is next to the beef. r.i.p. Clara Peller.
