Yes, I watched the origianl episoded in early 60's and I was a child then. Which is probably why I remember Belphegor as the scariest thing I can think of. I am still petrified!

This was the scariest serial I have ever seen then and since! I don't know what it was, but when I hear the "sound effects" that indicate that Belphegor is coming......the hair on the back of my neck still stand up. When you look at the movie now, it looks dated, but I still like it a lot!

There's a new collector version with 1965 version + the original + the book by Yamato Video - check "Yamato Video" and "belfagor" on Google.

Watched it yesterday (on DVD) for the first time after all those years. Fantastic.
I always remebered the notes of the theme and the goose bumps it gave me as a child.
