Ah, the golden age of In Flames. Everything from Whoracle and earlier was just pure amazing, especially The Jester Race, where they were like Beethoven on guitars. Money talks, however. I'm just glad that when they went more mainstream, they didn't start really sucking too bad until A Sense of Purpose.
It sucks that a lot of people nowadays listen to some nu metal shit like Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park etc. They don't know suck brilliant and classic metal like old In Flames and many more..
The Jester Race (all of its songs!) is by far the I. F. best Album & the E. P. Black Ash Inheritance is quite amazing too. Like Subterranean & Lunar Strain very much.
But if you look closer then you realise that inflames formed quite sometime after these bands, and their first couple eps were unquestionably derived from early Dissection and Eucharist material, even Dark Tranquillity came a little bit. Dont feel bad kids, knowledge comes with time!

The reason they don't play the old stuff much is coz on the albums they overlayed too many guitars playing different things, so it's really hard to replicate live
