  • I love hot rods and I love the idea of an electric 1, this needs further exploration. Look up the guy who built a 600HP BMW electric car in Croatia. It's amazing.

  • one thing the v8 has that does not the beautiful sound of power running through its pipes another is the rumble of the engine as it goes

  • 4 stars Short Clip

  • That thing is amazing!

  • SO WHAT ..660 foot pounds, 0-60 in 3 sec, top speed of 120 mph, and rang of 100 miles ..

for one you can make all the power you want, but if you cant go as far as full tank of gas it is a waste ..

And I could build a DD gas power car that is faster and goes further

  • @TheToTooTwo yeah but build one that burns zero fuel...you missed the point..now if it had a 5hp engine that drove a generator to run the electric mtr..to get further distances hmmmm

  • @johncartelli BUT it still couldnt go as far as a gasoline powered car with a full tank of gas

  • @TheToToo A gas engine w/ over 600 ft lbs of torque is probably getting 3-4 miles per gallon put in an average fuel tank of 18 gallons (16 x3.5) and you get 56 miles... maybe technology hasnt gotten to the point where a battery pack can last 400 miles yet. I am sure the build wasnt for , lets see how far we can go on a charge. the point was to build an electric high performance vehicle.

  • @johncartelli a GAS powered car wouldnt need 600 ft-lbs to be as fast as an electric car, because it would weight less

  • I'm gonna build one myself haha xD

  • Yeah... but who wants to drive a car that sounds like a sewing machine!?

  • @ratrodmod all you would hear is tires burnin,,lol

  • Haha "blown big block chevy not even making 600 ft lb" bullshit

  • thats car is sexy :), i want one...

  • What good is torque without horsepower?...120 mph top speed sucks!....perfect for a honda

  • @GasserGlass Honda .5G's on take off, Electric 3g's take off

  • @GasserGlass It's all about acceleration man.

  • Wish i could do that at home.

  • Now just tone it down some with the fancy battery packs making it more affordable, maybe make one thats hybrid with a very small gas motor to charge batteries and you have a car that im sure a lot of people would buy. I still think people dont realize how much more torque and power you can get out of an electric motor.

  • That car is just completely freaking awesome and I want one.

  • The future and my dream come true. I have a 96 civic that I love and will never replace, my dream is to put one of those in it. I am not in it for racing I am just in it for technology and how it changes everything.

  • you can get 1 at your local toy stores batteries not included lol. :p

  • The car was very very impressive. The claims were a bit exaggerated, but the range was right-on. The costs were pretty high and the car ultimately was dissassembled due to liability concerns... a real shame!

  • @F5RTube - Thanks for the update! Did they land the TV series?

  • thats the shit. the moter in there is almost to the scale of a 1/12 r/c car that runs a scale speed of 1300mph can't wait till they make a moter that is eff and that size, at the rate there going proble in2 years,I hope

  • I WANT THAT!

  • love this car but it's made for midgets! i'm 6'4

    0-60 n 3.8 sec

  • Theres Batteries that are going to come out that can charge in 10 to 20 seconds . And there much smaller and have more power. Good times are coming !! And you gas jackasses will eat your fucking words . Suck Amps assholes !!!

  • Those giant muscle cars can drive more then a puny 100miles. And just go to the gas station and fill up and run some more, you meanwhile have to recharge for hours. Impress me, produce a Hydrogen powered hotrod.

  • where do i buy one?

  • @ralphtomm

for over 100k.... no where! ha.

the batteries alone will cost over 50. the kit w no motor trans, or rear end cost 20k

these batteries realistically only drive for bt 100 miles.

i have an article/video for a real drive of this car, and they only got a lil over 100 miles

  • This is the future

  • @ellsworth07 i hope my car will not have an hundred of little lights flashing everywhere , it look like a kids computer lol.

  • Comment removed

  • that is down right awsome.

i like it how long does it have to chage for

  • Why would you do this to a sweet hod rod?

this is a bad mix of styles

  • It's not a fucking hot rod.Hot rod's have v-8's

  • @91Racing426

All hot rods have V8's ? LOL. Sounds conformist to me.

    Don't get me wrong. I love a good V8, but it's not a requirement !

Hot rods are supposed to be custom built vehicles. I would think that just about anything goes !

The Number of cylinders does not make the car, but It can help. It all depends on what you are going for.

  • @91Racing426 I AGREE....SHHHHHiiiiiiT BOX....My stock Scion does almost a hundred and twenty...and I don't have to stop every 80 miles for a charge....Injection (4cyl haha) is nice but I'd rather be BLOWN!

  • One cool nerd!

  • Awesome... the battery still clearly has a ways to go, but those specs are crazy. Any chance of a road test vid?

  • Fingers crossed for a road test video. Stay tooned ...

  • Pretty cool job guys. It went nice with the rest of the IC-powered FFR 33's

What speed is the 120 mile range rated at?

  • interesting! As good as it sounds..its just impractical. But i still give it props

  • Since when are hotrods built to be practical?
