You can overcome adversity anywhere. Learning to drive is overcoming adversity. Little kids overcome adversity when they learn how to read and write.
Good for her that she accomplished something. However at the end of the day "being the fastest texter in the world" won't get you a job. The entire competition pretty much promotes texting, which is not something that should be promoted because you can't text the guy that is interview you for a job, you have to talk to him/her.
