  • I'm a Mexican, but I Believe in the Viking Revival and the Fierce of that warriors. I Like the mix of the Vinlandians and the Spanish, But I prefer the Cold Mountains, the Icy Seas and the Snowed Forest.

  • i like it....but i have no idea what just happened...

  • I am an ancient lineage Dovre Gubben Viking and that still works for me Skaal all.

  • Vikings around the world, let's unite. Let's honor our forefathers.

I'm from Northern-Norway, but my ancestor is from Trondheim, the capital of the Vikings here in Norway. :)

I'm proud of being what I am.

  • I really want to be a Viking in my next life

  • I am a Swedish Viking!....and i want a nap!

  • Walhalla Wacht.

  • jag är svensk viking! och är stolt över mina förfäder!

  • ja jer en svensk vikiga, å i ger stolt över våra förfäder!

  • All Vikings! I call to you! Let us make our numbers known!

  • I am an Icelandic Viking. And i am proud of our Fathers.

  • hail to all vikings and our ancestors!

  • im a norwgian viking :D

  • DAMN - this is great !!! Thumbs WAY up !!!

  • This is very impressive. May I recommend my own trailer for my Viking novel, "West Oversea"? You can find it by clicking on my name.

  • WTF with you guys? Maybe I don't understand the plot of the conversation, because I'm Russian, but when you give examples to your opponents you never give the true facts to prove your point of view, such as links to some history or archeology research, or maybe well-known histrians articles. Try to use Internet as the source of knowledge. And according to Urban Dictionary the person who truly believes Wikipedia is called wikiot.

  • Incredible

  • Terrific! I especially liked the two ravens-Odin's companions, Hugin and Munnin perhaps.

  • Hail gods of war

  • Love it!

The blade tells it's tale. Absolutely splendid!

  • awesome

  • the song in the end theres a girl singing... if anyother swe is watching this... can you also confirm that the girl is singing in swedish or something much alike.

  • Haha! Gjallarhorn at the end. How suitable...

  • It is my understanding that a Jotun is a giant, something similar to a troll, and not a man, not a Viking. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this.

  • Wow, I guess they really loved "Shadow of the Colossus".

  • Great animation, and really nice human movement, with hairs. Damn good piece of work using the nordic story :)

As for vikings -surely we don't know much of them still, while politics (i.e. christianisation) made not bad mess in people's heads through centuries. Like in most European countries we have learned for century the "roman" version of history, where "barbarians" meant something negative,"primitive" (even when Celts were more advanced socially than Romans). Digging the roots'll take long

  • faroese viking reporting in.

  • I love the song at the end of the movie...the woman has a wonderful voice!

  • @rededen1

And how might one find, or have it to bring not only in his audio system, but always have it closer any moment?

  • @rededen1 From a band called Gjallarhorn. Can't remember the singer's name, but yeah, she's magnificient.

  • @GeckatYitik thank you so much, sir^^

  • Very, very good.

  • wow great animation short movie

i like the atmosphere and the picture language

  • Amazing animation. Beautiful portrait of the Viking world. The lack of color used in this animation really creates the mood of a world that was long ago.

  • Sweden and Denmark have been around for 1000s of years. Odin settled in Othinsey first, Then late Uppsalla. Frey then lived in Uppsalla as Ingvi-frey One of Odins names., Freya's people were the Frisians...or the Dutch. Ulr, Thors son went to Norway. Njord,Skadi's frist husband also had his shipyard in Norway. Skadi later Married Ulr.

  • @ravnanger21 "Freya's people were the Frisians...or the Dutch"

Dutch? are you retarded or something? The events you are talking about took place way before the Vikings raided the frisians and took slaves from there back to Scandinavia.

  • Hmm as for there being no Norway 100 years ago....you need to crack a history book. Normandy was settled by Norwegian vikings who left England in the late 700s only to come back in 1066 with William to beat back the Saxons. Norway,

  • @ravnanger21 Come on, stop thinking of the history and just watch the animation. Its pretty cool. But you see the lack of history, not the animation.

  • @ Potalot, hate to tell you this but Scandinavia was named after Skadi, not the Swedes or the Svear. The Jotun princess who kicked in the doors of Odin seeking payment for them killing all her family for stealing Idunna

As for the quality of Swedish Vikings, Beowulf, he was a Geat from Sweden. Seems like he was pretty good.

  • For the non-scandinavians, "Odin" the all-father of the AEsir, the Viking Gods, has two Ravens as pets, called "Hugin" and "Munin", literally "Mind" and "Memory", who fly around the world and watch what is happening. They then tell Odin when they get back on his shoulders.

  • The song at the end is "Kom Helge Ande/Come, Holy Spirit ", as performed by the Finnish band Gjallarhorn, it can be found on their Sjofn Album. I believe the snippet when the young viking leaves the village could be "Minuer from Jeppo/Polka" from the same band and album, but I'm not sure.

  • oohh i like the nordic and celtic style.

he should make a real movie.^^

  • 100 years ago there were no norway it was all swedish 1000years ago 6 swedish famalys founded iceland :D so basically scandinavia = sweden ok? dont think u guys wanna fuck with uss our kings a hunter haha

  • @Potalot Oh really? And what facts do you base that on? I'd say everything was Danish/Norwegian, after all, they were the true Vikings.

  • @VonTavast ye today u could say they were danes and norwegians thats bc those countrys are named like that today, but in the passt scandinavia was all togheter still is denmark sweden norway are basically wery alike and good neighbours

  • @Potalot What? Let me make this clear: Those in Scandinavia who truly were Vikings were the Danes and the Norwegians mostly. Sure the Swedes may have done some raiding from time to time as well, but they were more of the farming types. I am also well aware that there were no country such as ''Denmark'' or ''Norway'' or ''Sweden'' at that time, but I'm referring to the people that lived in those areas.

  • @VonTavast actually ur right about that norweigans and danes are vikings but dude im swedish im tellin u we are vikings lol just google it haha i rest my case swedes are brothers and sisters to norway and denmark there our closest allies hehe just chill the vikings shared alot of traits but the culture was the same , same myth and religion. ofc even celtic people have vikings in them ;) u know i know it :)

  • @VonTavast

Vikings came from all over scandinavia and eventually spread to iceland and greenland, and russia. The three most common places of viking heritage were Sweden, Norway and Denmark...although each had different names at the time, for instance: Jutland = denmark (as you already know). At one time or another, almost if not every germanic tribe worshiped the norse gods, though the name may have been different. it parallels ancient rome to greece.

  • @VonTavast The Vikings had no idea of being Vikings. Viking was something you do not something you were they probaly didnt saw a difference betwen them and other Germanic Peoples and Swedes were much as Vikings as the rest they went east mostly but this doesnt mean nothing a sweden(someone from whats today Sweden) could go to England Ireland ICeland Vinland or god knows more they werent military campaings that they did but "pritave" expedetions so you could go whatver you want

  • @ImperialGuard9001 See that's the point. Being a Viking is being a Pirate. That's what the word Viking really means easier said. Now here's where the Swedes come in, they theoretically weren't Vikings, since they didn't really raid at all as much as the Norwegians or the Danes did. Did you even really read what I said?

  • @VonTavast Swedes raid the east Finland Russia and even reach the heartland of Roman Empire in Constantinople

  • @VonTavast You are ignorant, Where do you think all the Viking treasures in Sweden came from? Or all the Runetones in Sweden, Made to honor fallen warriors in distant lands? Sweden went mostly eastwards,Raided traded and did all the things Vikings did. They even attacked the strongest Empire in Europe back then, Byzantium Empire! They put Constantinopel on siege twice, And the emperor in Byzantium was very impressed by the Swedes fighting skills and created the Varangian guard and used Swedes(.)

  • @VonTavast (..) as hes personal bodyguard and elit troops out on the battlefields, The Swedes also created the Kievan Rus and explored all the way to bagdad and Damaskus, Created a thousend mile trading network between Constaniopel and Bagdad/Damaskus all the way back home to Sweden. And the Swedes did heavy raids around the baltics and went westwards aswell from times to times accourding to the Runestones.

  • @VonTavast You also might be interested to read about Björn Ironside, A Swedish cheiftain that went to the west with a big fleet and raided/plundered all the way to the Mediterrean. He even attacked a city he first thought was Rome in Italy, But he attacked the wrong city, A city called Luna or something.

  • @VonTavast And the Swedes in the east were famous for their slave trading, Were do you think they got their slaves from? I supposed you guessed right, From raiding!

Arabic eyewitnesses and Greece eyewitnesses wrote alot about it, You might find it interesting to read about.

  • @VonTavast Wow, you're so full of shit. I can't recall the source, but I think it was Sturlason who said the Sveons were the great warriors; It was the Swedes who founded Russia, were acknowledged in modern Turkey as mercenaries and probably for good reason. Travelling "in Viking" as it's said at least in Swedish, is a thing commemorated among the runestones of Sweden, which also has the most runestones. The Swedes also submitted to Christianity way later.

  • That is old swedish viking song is it not? it sounded pretty swedish to me - swedish girl

  • @WinterCherrys If you watch the ending, there's a Swedish song so i guess the author was depicting Viking-Sweden.

The Swedes were shitty Vikings for the record.

  • @Arnebananlolo "Shitty Vikings" you say? The Norwegians/Danes used blitzkrieg and attacked harmless cloisters, while the Swedes were actually acknowledged as true warriors by the second largest empire at the time. So you should just stfu.

  • @SwedishBerzerker Chill bro, I was just trolling :p

If you're referring to the Varangians, yes, but they weren't exclusively Swedes.

  • @Arnebananlolo Sorry, I got a little upset by the way the comments look here, not just yours. ;) Neither were the westbounders exclusively Dane/Norwegian. IMHO, we might as well just stop comparing Vikings with Vikings; that national scope didn't exist back then. Scandinavia was divided into small kingdoms and farms, until king Knut conquered a part of Great Britain, but that was only for like 30 years I think.

  • @SwedishBerzerker You're right, but i noticed that Swedes seem to love Vikings, and they seem to completely forget the Danes and Norwegians.

I agree with you though, Vikings are Vikings :)

  • @Arnebananlolo I don't know about that, Swedes do acknowledge Norwegian and Danish Vikings. I've noticed one thing on the Bethesda forums regarding the upcoming Skyrim (based on Viking culture) and it's that Norwegian users say like "Skyrim's going to be based on Norway", while Swedes often say Scandinavia instead. Norwegians are cocky bastards lol

  • @SwedishBerzerker I dunno, Swedes seem to blow the Vikings that inhabited Sweden way out of proportion, when they mostly just acted as mercenaries and traders, as far as i know. I never understood why Swedes love that time period, rather than.. WHEN THEY WERE A SUPERPOWER? Come on!

  • @Arnebananlolo Really? I'm the only one at school boasting about our Viking heritage lol. Nationalists do celebrate Karl XII however.

  • @SwedishBerzerker Again, in my opinion, they were all equally badass.

About skyrim, I did notice some mountains in the trailer so i guess it makes sense :p The word "Nord" is also another way of saying "Norwegian" according to wikipedia, so maybe they're right.

I hope it's based on Norway, because of fjords and mountains, and Finland/Sweden for forests and shit.

  • @Arnebananlolo No, you must've gotten that wrong. In Swedish, we call Norwegians "norrmän" - "northmen". It's not the same as "nordmän" which refers to the entire "Norden" - Scandinavia + (in modern context) Finland and Iceland. So "Nords" is probably derived from a non-existant term describing people from "Norden". The Nords are based on both Norwegians and Swedes, believe me, I've played all the TES games. This is most prominent in thier names (there are both Swedish and Norwegian ones).

  • @SwedishBerzerker I heard a radio host describe Scandinavians as "Danes, Swedes and Nords".

And I'm glad they've come up with a new word for Norwegians anyway, "Nord" rolls off the tongue easier. Swede/Dane/Swedish/Danish are easy words, but "Norwegian" isn't all that fun to say, you know?

But the nord race is obviously based on Danes, Swedes and Norwegians. "Nordmann" refers to Norwegian in Norway, correct?

  • @Arnebananlolo norway was owned by danish back in the medieval and country borders didn´t exist before the medieval so all norweigans got their heritage from the danish..... i guess.

  • @JoeRingo118 Hm? For what, 10 years? Or are you referring to the kalmar union? I believe Norway became a country around 870? I don't know, i know that Harald fairhair's campaign in Gotaland was in 877 so i figure he'd have unified his kingdom before that.

All Scandinavians did, in a way. The Danes were the "first" Scandinavians.

  • @Arnebananlolo ok. thank you.. now i will fix the history lesson in school.

  • @JoeRingo118 Well, you obviously weren't paying attention if you can't even give me a time and date.

I've talked to others who say they got their info from school, a Dane claimed that his school had taught him that Greenland/Iceland/America was settled and discovered by Danes, and that Erik the red was Danish.

Which is obviously false. So I doubt the validity of your information, sorry.

  • @Arnebananlolo welll..... obviously...

in the dawn of time.... everyone came from africa. and then they walked out everywhere in the world. so i guess we all had to pass trough denmark and finland to get to norway/sweden...... anyways. have a good day.

  • @JoeRingo118 What? I'm talking about 700-1100s. Yes, Germanic tribes traveled through Denmark to Norway and Sweden, so unless you count the baltics and whoever else inhabited Scandinavia at the time the Danes were the originals.

    You too :)

  • @Arnebananlolo If I recall, it was Harald's father, Gorm, who first unified the Danes.

  • @Arnebananlolo I agree, "Norwegian" is kind of awkward. I looked it up and yeah, they call themselves "Nordmenn".

  • @Arnebananlolo Norway is a very beautiful country indeed. Sweden has more rolling hills sort of instead of peaky mountains. Of course, Sweden also has a few larger, peaky mountains, but it's nothing like Norway. Sweden is very beautiful in its own sense though with large forests and lakes. So is Finland, but with even more lakes :) Skyrim will have mountains, tundras, autumn forests, pine forests, glaciers... we'll definitely get satisfied! Perhaps, the best game will be set in stone 11-11-11

  • @SwedishBerzerker Whatever, i love the Scandinavian countries regardless, they're all beautiful :>

  • @Arnebananlolo But how come are you so interested in all this? Are you just very well educated in history in general or what? :)

  • @Arnebananlolo have you met them?

  • Have you seen Tomasz Bagiński? :)

  • Im from Norway and i`we got very big feet. And I feel like a viking sometimes.

I wanna change school, beacause im the tallest in my class.

  • she sings in swedish

  • no dude more like Germish

    Germenska

  • Im a norwegian Viking, And im proud of our Fathers.

  • @divid498 norwagian viking lycka till jag är jämte / svensk vikind xD så stfu

  • @timhasselgren viking*

  • @divid498 Yes.And i am shakira.And i am proud of my songs!

  • @divid498 You may be a norwegian, but to be a Viking you would have to be invading Ireland, the UK or Finland in search of a better place to live or in search of plunder.

  • @GPazosL Things have changed

  • @fpscactusproductions Exactly. I, for example, am an Asatruar, proud of it. What i am not, and no one is, is a viking, a cultural form that existed and was dissipated many centuries ago.

  • @GPazosL Agree :)

  • @divid498 lucky bastard

  • @divid498 and i am proud to serve under our fathers, they will guide us all

  • a pity, scandinavians are dying from inside nowdays

  • The very beginning with crows reminds me of Diablo I intro animation

  • how did you do this? :P its awesome!!!

  • This is a great animation and though there was no dialog you knew what was going on, it was fantastic.

  • Very good animation!

  • Computer animation is still terrible. The story is nowhere and seemingly of little significance. Must do better.

  • @harrisonaard1 The story is of a man who has to get back something precious to his village, he has to face many challenges while doing it, which is what he did. If it had been a movie it would've been a good hour. It's a short so you can't expect much out of it, it's stil a good basic storyline though, and the animation was pretty good, it had fluent motions at least.

  • this reminds me alot of Diablo 2 cinematics, which is good.

  • HELL YEAH PISS DRUNK

  • why is it swedish music ?

  • Awesome music!

  • you know, I never understood or appriciated this a couple of years ago. I have changed a lot, and now I REALLY appreciated the guy with long hair! it looks really pretty in this animation. okay, sorry, but I am a girl who likes long hair on guys, what else can I say! well, I guess I can say that that dude with the mallet reminds me of sauron when he strikes the people aside, and the guy who strck the mallet with the sword is, well, the dude who defeated sauron. wow, I talk alot, anyway coolanime

  • Going to guess and say the 2 ravens in the the animation were Odin's or at least in reference to that.

  • This was better than Beowulf...

  • Please... Tell me the name of the song... Incredibly beautiful!

  • leviii!

  • Excelente manejo de camaras luces etc, muy buen render! 10/10, mira mi animción y dime que te parece, salduo Alan jonathan Iriarte desde Buenos Aires Argentina!

  • i thought his sword fell in front of him not behind him when he fell and slid

  • I would like to know the name of the song in the ending. or was is made for this video (wich is btw AMAZING!!) ^^" Hope someone can tell me.

  • amazing atmosphere! also, very exciting and gripping for its length

  • Hails from America! Great work !

  • Hail from denmark

  • Why did he smash the crystal?

  • Nice

  • Imponerande!

  • Still awesome, very well made.

  • awesome

  • Nice, although it could need a little more depth.

Besides, the resolution is horribly low and a sore to the eye.

  • PLEASE RESPOND what software did you use and how much thanks

  • I hate to sound like an fool but what is the point of the story? It's about a boy that travels and sees vision of what happen right?

  • It´s good to be scandinavian! ;-)

  • Absolut

  • @BigAndTall666 yupp i fell ya greetings from sweden!

  • @BigAndTall666

yeah, innit? ;) didn't realize the music was in swedish til the end though... shame on me ^^

  • @BigAndTall666 Hell yeah :D

  • @BigAndTall666 What about finnish vikings or norwegian

  • @JawaProductions Finns are Finno Uralic. Part of the Lapp tribes....Only Norwegian, Swedes, Danes, Faroese, and Icelanders are considered ethnic Scandinavian or "Viking" blood.

  • @BigAndTall666 Hell yes! :)

  • Its better being Icelandic or from Norway ;D

  • Real norwegian :)

  • Holy....... Amazing what CGI can do now a day.

  • hi everyone. i'm trying to make some 3d animations and i was wondering where i could find sounds. such as birds and stuff like that. thank you

  • Try looking for sound libraries.

  • hmm. ok thank you

  • marvelous!!! i wish you would make a 2 hour movie like this

  • god this whas purfekt and it's just purfekt! well done

  • Tola let ræisa stæin þennsa at sun sinn Harald, broður Ingvars. ÞæiR foru drængila fiarri at gulli ok austarla ærni gafu, dou sunnarla a Særklandi!

  • Deap and trully brillaint. wered did you get theidea?

  • The song is "Come, Holy Spirit" by Gjallarhorn.

  • this is simply amazing! I enjoyed it very much, thank you.

  • Grear 3d animation!

But what has happend to the boys sword?

At the end, he only has the runestune on his side....

  • Where is the song from? It's swedish you know...would be nice to know who's singing.

  • Sounds like Gjallarhorn - especially their song Kulning. Singers name is Jenny Wilhelms. Not sure how active they are nowadays - saw them live once :)

  • the story is about the son of a viking king who dies in a fight with that titan, and the son attempts to search of remains of his father and instead discovers who his father is and how he can keep his father's legacy a legendary and such, well thats what I picked up...

  • what was the story line?

  • Absolutely brilliant! Thank you!!!

  • I just simply fell in love with it!

  • Beautifully made video and music too.

  • extraordinary, werry high quality and a lot off work was put inot it ( even the hair is corect animated ), this will go into my favorites :))

  • epic, you coul make a game OR EVEN A MOVIE with this!!!! i would LOVE to see a movie series :)

  • bloody awesome!!!

    more please.

  • Wonderful.. I really wish I could see more like this.

  • Hey I'm a great sketch artist and i have lots of stories and idea's But i've never made animations the only ones i've made are 2d stick man pivot animation's. Pretty much what i'm getting at is can you make tutorials on how to animate and tell me where i can get software like yours so i can start animating 3d. Also if you have no more ideas i got plenty if ya want some help but by the looks of this animation looks like your set

  • svensk låt...

  • Vad heter den låten?

  • I love that you use some of Gjallarhorn's music in this short :)

  • whats the story about ? i dont get it much ...

anyway, the animation is amazing and incredible ...
