Sorry Renegae but you are wrong. Marcelo is RIDICULOUSLY fast. In this video he's going slow cause thats how good he is.... that he doesnt have to even try.

Second, he is VERY strong. Most people dont know this fact... they just see videos and figure he is average strength.

Third.... he has AMAZing balance.

@toaldingham I think he is referring to his squeeze and grip strength. The guy can RNC people with one arm and there is a technique to it but over all its how strong you are. But mainly he is just solid technique.

I've watched all of Marcelo's ADCC matches and he hs amazing speed, balance, technique, and conditioning. I imagine he's very strong as well. Jacare, who is know to be an animal, is the only one who seemed to have a strength advantage.  I'm looking forward to ADCC 2007!

Marcelo is not strong or fast, he substitutes strength for leverage and speed for timing like all bjj people do but he does it on a whole different level. For example he'll take a common popular technique that is performed with leverage and tweak it so that he improves the leverage or discovers a better moment to act to improve the timing. Whatch his 3 instructional dvd series they are ingenius.
