If you look at Surah Al-Kahf(The cave) were a dog was sleeping with the sleepers of the cave and they were blessed it pretty much shoots down the arguement that dogs are bad, the angel not entering a home because of a dog sounds quite ridiculous and contradicts the Koran, if they dogs were mentioned to be unclean in the Koran I wouldn't argue but its not and Koran shows them in a good way, with Hadith you have to look at the historical context because many Hadith are for that time and some arent

The Quran sais that using a dog as protection or use it for needed and helpful things such as herding sheep is ok. You just can't refer to them as a friend and make clothes for them, and sleep with them.

That Guide Dogs name is Vargo, my nan looked after him down here in plymouth before he went for his training. I'm so glad that he has gone to a loving family and i hope that he is well. It is nice to see him again aswell.

Dogs are not haraam the arabs didnt like dogs even before Islam and so there was already a cultural bias against dogs, with Hadiths since they were compiled by man you have analyze them closely to see what hadiths are true and which hadiths are not.Historical context matters because hadith are in no way equal to the Koran, its the Koran first, Hadith second. I'm actually planning to get a German Shepherd Dog myself maybe by next year inshallah.

If muslim people always on about our brothers and how good we are to each other why do you need a dog. Where is the love of Allah being practiced - why don't other muslim help him. I hate to think how much bad energy from people the poor dog has to suffer. I have more respect for dogs than I do for the vast majority of people.

If you look at Surah Al-Kahf(The cave) were a dog was sleeping with the sleepers of the cave and they were blessed it pretty much shoots down the arguement that dogs are bad, the angel not entering a home because of a dog sounds quite ridiculous and contradicts the Koran, if they dogs were mentioned to be unclean in the Koran I wouldn't argue but its not and Koran shows them in a good way, with Hadith you have to look at the historical context because many Hadith are for that time and some arent

The Quran sais that using a dog as protection or use it for needed and helpful things such as herding sheep is ok. You just can't refer to them as a friend and make clothes for them, and sleep with them.

That Guide Dogs name is Vargo, my nan looked after him down here in plymouth before he went for his training. I'm so glad that he has gone to a loving family and i hope that he is well. It is nice to see him again aswell.

Dogs are not haraam the arabs didnt like dogs even before Islam and so there was already a cultural bias against dogs, with Hadiths since they were compiled by man you have analyze them closely to see what hadiths are true and which hadiths are not.Historical context matters because hadith are in no way equal to the Koran, its the Koran first, Hadith second. I'm actually planning to get a German Shepherd Dog myself maybe by next year inshallah.

@samdathi Dude that's a little extreme to say man, not all scholars agree that the dog is unclean, the Maliki school of thought say they're pure, the Koran says you can eat whatever they catch for you, in other words the food that a dog catches is clean therefore the dog is clean, no where in the Koran is the dog seen as bad, in fact they are depicted in a positive way, I don't think God will have problem with me having a dog, I'm a practicing Muslim and I see no problem having a dog.
