+/- may have formed in 2001, but James and Pat were in Versus (similar sound) in the mid-late 90s before Death Cab or Postal Service or other more recent sound-alikes formed. Versus, with James older brothers, formed in 1990. I'm not saying any band is better than the other, just clarifying the time line, yo.

Okay, so I'm wrong. So I should clarify. Death cab was formed in 1997 and +/- in 2001. However, DC didnt become your radio and teen hit sensation until 2003 when Transatlanticism was realeased - and +/- has always had the same original sound... not that poppy sappy crap you 13 yr old girls cry over.

I assume you're meaning the band (not the song, because that's way different) and after listening very carefully to both Death Cab for Cutie, I must say that they may be sort of the same genre. There are however significant differences. For one, Death Cab for Cutie is more generic, while +/- is more experimental. (They've written songs in 5/4, 7/4 and 10/4) I guess that +/-'s inspiration is older than DCfC and that they're doing a different thing altogether.

Great band! The audio seems to be off a couple of frames in this video. If you check out the original on their site it's much cleaner and in synch. Great job on putting it on youtube though to try and get more people to watch it!
