  • Out of the 70 or so I have sit so far, only 2 kills.. And I had to damage the vehicles with minigun 1st

  • if you could fire 2 guided missles at 1 run i'd use it, but now it's worthless

  • 1 Missle for me normally disables it

    The problem you guys have is that your not hitting it, Notice how close you get, the missle needs alot of space to fire and flying low with beam scanning helps with this.

    Finish off the tank with guns

  • I think it should be like this:

    Guided missile hit on front or side: 75 damage. A strong disable, but still permits repairing/bailing out of the tank.

    Guided missile hit on top: 80 damage, simply because of the slightly weaker top armor.

    Guided missile hit on rear: 100 damage (destroy) This forces the jet to position himself for the kill so he can't just mindlessly lock on, while still making it possible for jets to support ground units.

  • My question is, whats the point in having the Anti-Air rockets in the game if they are useless, you cant even fire them without a lock to so the pilot gets no warning, you have to have a lock, and as soon as you fire, the pilots warning tone is changed to alert them, so then they just press the flare button and the rocket does nothing. They should just remove them if they arent willing to make them useful.

  • Yeah, dice are bunch of fuckwits, the anti-air rockets are useless, they might as well remove them, JAVELIN with SOFLAM is the only way to take out AIR units as infantry, otherwise use an Anti-Ait vehicle or Tank with Anti Air missiles and SOFLAM.

    The infantry anti air rockets are useless because the air unit can drop flares just as quickly as you can fire the rockets, and they have unlimited flares (which is rediculous, no air unit ever made in real life has unlimited flares).

  • If it was a one shot kill with this it would be wayyyy over powered. The way to do it is to shoot a missile then switch to machine gun and fire in the same strafe. If you hit with both gun and missile you will kill the tank and driver.

  • U can Fuck Shit up wit the attack helicopter... The gunner zoom comes in clutch

  • U can still use ur miniguns on tanks.. and a few rocket pods and kaboom

  • I was SO disappointed, this is what the military have used in Iraq, Afghanistan and NATO in Libya to disable grounds units. Beam scanning was a big disappointment too it barely speeds up the lock-on time. I think if i have worked this hard to unlock these items (just like with the 'perks' on infantry weaponry) then they should be exactly that, perks otherwise it's a total waste of time.

  • @tyren14 I haven't played in a few weeks so I don't know if anything have changed, but DICE said there would buff the jets. I think it was air to ground too. Has nothing like that happened yet?

  • @RatherGeekyStuff Well playing it a couple of hours ago, I hit the same tank twice with x2 laser guided missiles and scored 0pts for doing so. (PS3) To my knowledge there has been no patch as of yet as I've yet to download any updates for the game.

    there was a patch on ps3 today that was around 800MB. thought they fixed it so i tried out my Beam scanning and guided missile combo but theyre still the same. just the health of jets have changed, we still can't help our fucking ground troops for shit

  • @walnutz45 Oh well, back to Skyrim, Batman, Diablo 3 and SWTOR. hehe... Joking aside, I will most likely still play BF3, but the jets are what's most interesting to me so until they make them able to help out on the ground I won't be spending very much time on the game. It's still one of the most awesome looking games ever made nevertheless.

  • @RatherGeekyStuff the beam laser is only for aircraft i think...thats what the definition says so maybe thats why its not all that useful with ground forces..

  • Damn I been working really hard on the jets to unlock these... Kinda disappointing really should disable in 1 not as if they can't repair it on the ground

  • They could have been repairing the vehicles after your attack

  • you shooted 2 different tanks in the video, so thats the reason you dont destroy them.

    2 guided missiles = disable vehicle

    3 hits = destroy

    missiles are good like this, if you were able to 1 hit tanks with an automatic locking missile, that would be overpowered.

    Besides the guided missiles are designed for beeing used in combination with the soflam.

    Guided missiles are ok how they are now, plus if you are skilled you dont shoot only 1 missile, you shoot the missile and change fast to the gun

  • At least your laser guided pillows hit the target. I flew by a stationary  tank, while braking 4 times and each successive missile missed. The 5th hit and scored and hitmarker.

  • yea it sucks like that on ps3 as well u gotta wait till it takes some damage b4 u can drop a guided missle on em to take a tank out but its perfect against jeeps

  • @JohnGreek4lyf use the rocket pods, they work perfectly fine. you just need a lil practice so you won't: fire -> crash into the ground ^^

    rocket pods are what attack helicopters use btw, so you can get a reference ;)

    Back in beta,alot of QQ and whiners complain about Air to guide missle being to powerful.So dice nerf it because those shitty Cryers is a noob

  • You can go a whole round, disable 10 vehicles and assist kill then end up with 0 kills at the end. If you are a pilot, this is not your game. If you are a COD fan. They tweaked this game to compete against it. It's all about the ground game.

  • You need to fire a salvo from your default gun too... after having used the guided missile.

  • @Wega93 But my default gun does thrice the damage in the amount of time it takes to lock on to and fire at a target, so why bother? I still don't understand the purpose of it. It isn't even easier to use than the gun.

    Because you want to contain all the damage in one burst.. If you fly at a tank. in one salvo you won't disable it (in my experience).

    find a target , shot at it . he use smoke . missile miss . take another run and shot it . hit . take shit load of stingers shots and AA guns . escape and take another run on your target . shot at it again . smoke . miss again . take another run . shot  . hit . 100 bounces for disable . take another run . ( target cannot be found cause the solider exited and is repairing the tank . " back from the start "
