  • For all my peoples with knee pain stop feeling sorry for yourself.. thank Allah that things are not worse.IF YOU ARE NOT MENTALLY STRONG YOU CAN NOT BE PHYSICALLY STRONG.

Being healthy is a full time job .. go to the gym, eat healthy and pray to the all almighty.

  • @theeCRZAZL Only your doctor will be able to tell you if your clear to play. It will probably take more than a couple of weeks to get your knee used to the effects of working out,and playing sports etc. It's been three months, and I was just aloud to start walking on my knee with a brace, but we don't have the same injury, so you could be different. Before you assume anything go to your doctor and ask if you can play in 2 weeks!

  • @theeCRZAZL I tore my meniscus, and cartilage around my knee in a basketball game, and the doctor told me I'll never be able to play any sports again,so it is possible that giving up sports is an option. Also, you are right on doing very light exercises to keep the knee strong, but you should see a doctor so they can get MRI's and stuff and refer you to a Physical Therapist. I waited four months before I got checked out and kept playing on my knee, and completely destroyed it.

  • @b0omcrashlove thanks, this has helped me...today i started off with a slow jog, and soft passes, and it didn't hurt, put an ice bag after i finished, maybe in a week or 2 ill be fit to play...do you think so?

  • So this is just a small incision?? I really hope I do not have to go under the knife! So much going on already! :( The thing is, the pain I have only comes with the inflammation, meaning only when I am active. The Doctor said I should get an MRI done, & I should be hopeful that it is ONLY a Knee Meniscus tear, because the two others, most people cannot even walk on. Mine hurts to bend like this. You said yours started healing on it's own????? when? & how? did you ice it everyday?

  • @RawChanneLife Well, the surgery is done "arthroscopic" which means there are only two or three small holes for the camera and tools to get in. I can't even see where those holes are anymore... so you won't see scars.

As for your problem, if it's only been a couple weeks, and you have these problems, it may not be anything major. It may get better in a couple months. If it's been longer than a few weeks or months, then there's a bigger issue. You should still get a MRI if your doctor isn't sure

  • blueionrich, Hi, I know she did mention this, just a couple cuts. What I don't understand is if it's just a tear, why doesn't it heal itself? & why do they re-tear it some more like in your video? Well to me, it just looks if though they're mucking around some more. It's actually been about 4 months since the "initial" incident. There is no pain when there is no activity. It's still difficult to bend. A year ago I switched to cycling from Running due to my back....now this. Thanks 4 ur input.

  • @RawChanneLife It didn't necessarily heal on it's own. It was just a partial tear, and what he's doing in the surgery was testing the strength of the ACL. Since he was going to graft a cadaver ACL on in its place, he determined the strength even slightly torn was probably better than a new one replacing it. So he's not mucking around, but tugging to see how quickly it rebounds. I think you'll need surgery of some kind.

  • @blueionrich Hey while I was playing soccer i passed the ball and when my left knee was coming back it landed wrong and i just heard a few pops like a tear or something, I live by myself and dont know what to do its been since December 27 i got the injury and i went to the doctor 3 weeks ago and said it isnt acl...and told me to rest it for 3 weeks, monday i could start light but i dont think ill be ready then, do you know anything that can help?

  • @TheeCRZAZL It could be a real bad sprain (twisted), or maybe an MCL. But i would guess he'd tell you. If he thinks you'll be good in 3 weeks, but you don't, just rest it some more. Start slow. Even tho my doctor told me I'd be ready to play in 3 months after my surgery, it took almost 9 months. I did light rehab/stretches first, till I felt ready to jog a bit, and then very low impact soccer. Finally got back to my top game. But for you hopefully not serious, but yeah, you may need more time.

  • @blueionrich Ok thanks, that was a real relief you telling me this. I also forgot that he had also said it wasn't a ACL or MCL. I hope it it wont take more than 3 months after monday. Any thing you recommend while i just rest it? and thanks again

  • @TheeCRZAZL Just that don't rest it completely. You should be somewhat active. That may be just doing stretches (bending exercises), simple crunches (no weights), leg lifts lying flat, light stationary bike. Anything that is light and exercises it, even if it seems like it's real basic. You don't want to keep it straight and sit around for weeks. It'll atrophy and lose muscle (which around the knee helps keep it strong).

  • I gotta get this done tomorrow...smh

  • Loosening of the actual knee

  • doing this tomorrow at 9am...damn i hope its worth it

  • @NickySlick100 If you play sports, it IS worth it. Good luck!

  • I used to have an arrow to the knee but then i got knee surgery and have returned to being an adventurer.

  • Is that water in your knee? I'm clueless.

  • Good luck on the recovery! And for the life of me, I can't figure out what the doctor keeps fiddle farting around with that just doesn't seem to cooperate? Several years back I had total reconstructive knee surgery due to a complete disrupted (broken) ACL, MCL was detached from my tibia, & my meniscus was cracked twice. I lost a little hyperextention but for the most part it's fine now.

  • i hope your right bout the pain stopping or becoming less intense 4-5 days after because im on my 2nd day and wow it hurts soo much haha

  • @m4moffie yeah, guessing dislocating is a little different than my injury, but I'm sure it'll slow down in pain in the next couple days. Just keep the ice on it and eat food with your painkillers. If you start getting nauseous, take those pills they also give you to stop that. Or just live thru the pain without pills!!!!!! Be tough! :)

    Good luck

  • @blueionrich thank's man

  • hey im 16 and have dislocated my knee twice playing rugby union, still love the game and would play it again any time but... i have just had this done and let me tell you 'holy shit' haha it hurts but trust me when i say listen to 'blueionrich' because he is right you feel nothing absolutely nothing until like 5 hours later. i had it done at 12:00 and when 5:00 came around i had just woken up and was really sore. painkillers help but depends on what your taking (some are stronger than others)

  • does this hurt plz answer back i might need this done soon caus i tore my acl

  • @simbadude6 It doesn't hurt if they put you under and give you morphine. Of course, when you come to and the morphine wears off (like 5 hours later) it starts to hurt pretty bad. You have pain pills for that. And that pain usually starts to subside within a few days.

  • I have a tare in my ACL and PCL... and fluid around my knee cap..I play softball, and I am 43 yrs old...long time of having knee problems....part of the bone has been grinded off also...Im going to artho dr june 8...what do I need to expect?

  • @Snakecm13 If going in for surgery, expect to be put under, and then wake up feeling just fine (morphine). Then maybe 6 hours from then, the pain will start. You'll pop pain pills, and will dull the pain a good bit. It takes 4-5 days for the pain to subside. Although the pain was more uncomfortable/sore than sharp pains.

  • @Snakecm13 expect the unexpexted

  • "Hey doc! My knee itches from the inside, would you mind?!"

  • lil rough dont u think?

  • Cotton candy?

  • So what exactly am I looking at? I'm not sure what the metal utensil is doing or showing me..

  • I just had this done for the second time and am currently resting up at home. I'm really scared of moving too much in case I damage it again. Am I being paranoid?

  • @Leifr952 If you tore your ACL you probably aren't going to do anything worse to it moving around. If you just had surgery, you should probably rest up a bit, but then start some rehab. Check with your doctor. Chances are you're being paranoid about moving it around. I wouldn't be. I would be paranoid if you were trying to run on it or something.

  • wats the feathery stuff

  • i fear i might have the same problem according to the docs. how long did it take for you to heal up? and did you do physio or surgery or both? help is much appreciated :(

  • @abhiginimav

Well it took a few months of working it out gently...mostly because my leg muscles had atrophied from not doing much exercise during the injury. Overall though, I was playing soccer again within the year...maybe like 8 months. But it really took more like 1 year to get the strength and mobility back to play harder soccer.

  • i fear i might have the same problem to the docs. how long did it take for you to heal up? and did you do physio or surgery or both? help is much appreciated :(

  • I had a scope done three weeks ago and they found an inch and a half tear in my meniscus and they had to remove half the membrane that keeps your bones from grinding and I have sever bone irritation and I will have to have my knee replace in then years.

How long were you out from doing things??

  • @BubblyPrincess30

Yours is a bit of a different injury. I have heard meniscus injury and surgery and you can be doing stuff in 2 months. But sounds like it may be more complicated than just a simple meniscus tear if they had to do more for the grinding. The doctor should tell you pretty conservatively how long it may take for you to do stuff. I hope it doesn't impact your karaoke! :) Good luck..

  • blueionrich that's bs you should get a second opinon from another doctor seriously.

  • @muselman07 Well, since then I've been playing soccer for the last 3 years. Seems alright to me.

  • i have to get this surgery soon, does it hurt?

  • i just had this shit done to me today

  • I had a dislocated patella and my doc is recommending surgery. this is the second time that I've dislocated the same knee. what are the pros and cons of having this procedure done. I'm 16 years old.

  • I had surgery 8 years ago while on the wrestling team. I torn my ACL and they had to drain out liquid from my meniscus. My doc told me i would be fine after surgery, but my knee has continued to dislocate every once in a while. This will never be fixed. So even if u have had the surgery, it doesnt mean everything is gonna be ok. But then again everybody is different right? Just giving my experience as something that may be helpful

  • that is a nasty injury...even "getting it fixed" will not ever "FIX" it.. you will unfortunately have knee problems the rest of your life. When you are 50 you will walk like you are 90 years old. Unfortunately every poke and prod does more damage, you have a lot of free floating tissue a lot of shredded tissue. None of this will ever heal completely. Do the best you can, and treat your knees easily. I urge you to give up soccer. Sorry...

  • @hububub46 Oh...are you a doctor? Cuz my doctor hasn't said anything like that, or that I should give up soccer. Actually, I'm in my 30s and 3 years after the injury everything is fine.

I obviously know the concern and the possibility of reinjury, but not sure I'm with you on your assessment that my knee is now shot and I need to give up soccer. Maybe if it hurt or felt completely off.

  • i just had arthroscopic surgery on my knee yesterday.. i had a torn meniscus.. doc said the procedure went well.. now when i move it it makes a weird croaking sound.. it sounds like there is a frog in my knee.. is that normal??

  • @linopipes I'd ask him, but it may have been too soon to tell after the injury. With all injuries and surgeries, you will need rehab. It may just need some work to get that to go away. Regardless, 3 weeks ago...are you still having that issue?

  • @blueionrich ok, but no im not. its actually feeling way better. it makes some kind of creaking noise when i walk but its ony like every blue moon. my recovery is coming along really good.

  • @blueionrich i have to have knee surgery.........does it hurt after

  • @96stevel23846 Uhh.. yes. It does. It didn't right away because the morphine was still doing it's job. I thought it wasn't that bad. But after 5 or so more hours, the morphine wore off, and it hurt for days. Although I wouldn't say it was incredibly bad pain. Take a few painkillers, but no need to overdo it.

  • i had arthroscopic surgery on my right knee 3 weeks ago. i had damaged tissue and damaged knee cap removed, but other than that i didnt have any major damage. i also have a cool video as well :)

  • @flames41418 where's the vid?! i see you got it from hockey?

  • @blueionrich i dont have it on youtube.they gave it to me as a VHS tape.and ya my knee went straight into the boards

  • just found out today i tore acl mcl and mensicus thanks to football during the first damn game

  • @rebelplaymakers It sucks, but if you're determined, get surgery and rehab it. You have plenty of time in your life to play. Just a small setback overall. Good luck

  • @blueionrich yeah i plan on rehabing real hard so i can hopefully try it out for basketball

  • @blueionrich

dude i wish i had something that can be fixed

but my doctor says theres nothing wrong

while it hurts burns and i cant stand too much :(

  • @rebelplaymakers I feel your pain. I have a knee injury, I haven't torn anything, I don't think, but i am going to keep playing with my injured knee. It is my senior year, I can't pass up my last year of football

  • I'm having my left knee scoped for the 2nd time in less than a year on Aug 12th and will have the right done by the end of the year

  • that looks likes it feels good

  • I don't know if you can help me here but here it goes. For the past month my knee has been swelling up really bad right below my knee cap and it has been grinding really bad. What is your opinion on this?

  • @bwager2010 I'm not a doctor, so I don't know a lot of these answers. The best I can say is researching online it sounds like arthritis in the knee. But if you're young, that shouldn't be the case...unless you had a knee injury of some sort. It's likely cartilage that has worn away and bone grinding. Again, I'd just go to the doctor to find out for sure.

  • @bwager2010

Go and see the doc you idiot

  • wow sorry about the other comment i just saw that someone asked the same question

  • how long after this surgery u returned to sports ??? because i had a light cartilage tear in my right knee about 1 month and 2 weeks ago an im walking now but it still has slight pain putting pressure on it im afraid ill never be able to play with no pain =[

  • hey I'm having this done also and I also hurt my ACL and MCL the doc said it's a simple procedure...But I thought the ACL-s couldn't heal by themselves because there is no blood flow in that part of the knee, so after the rehab you didn't have any problems with your knee?

  • @UroshDurlan

I have't had any problems really. Been able to play soccer of a high level. But I also haven't been hit hard again in that knee or twisted it in any awkward way. It's been good, but there's no telling if it's always going to have potential for future tears.

  • hi, i'm a goal keeper for soccer, and i'm having this done. thanks for posting this video!

  • shhhiiiitt haha that sucks ive done the exact same thing but playing rugby i torn acl and mcl iam getting acl surgery on it soon what the pain like after surgery did you have to wear a brace for your macl tear

  • man i hurt my knee one time, it swelled up so bad i couldnt walk for like 6 days i could not bend it, doctor just gave me an x ray, never had surgery but that fuckin knee still bothers me, it makes crunchy noises and stuff when i bend it

  • @gbloq ouch... that doesn't sound good. I suggest you get an orthopedic doctor look at it and get an MRI. It obviously should not do that. Nor can an XRay show a doctor everything that's wrong.

  • @gbloq

the same happened to me when i got tackled by a goalie and defender, went to hospital and they said nothin serious was wrong with it but went to see a professional physio and found out i had damaged my cruciate ligament in the back of the knee and had small tears in my cartiledge. As gbloq said, see an orthopedic doctor and get scanned

  • shux that looks really painfull....im getting the exact same surgery...well, i apparently have a completely torn ACL and meniscus so im getting orthroscopic surgery on it too....how long did u do rehab for and when could you start playing sports again after goign through rehab?do u still need to do rehab on it now?

  • @Ben090488 It took me a good 6 months, but that's cuz I didn't start rehab right away and my leg atrophied (muscles got weak because it wasn't used).

I suggest you start rehab right away. It took about 1 full year before I really could play soccer.... and even longer before I felt I had all my abilities back. Now it doesn't bother me at all, and still playing soccer. It's been 3 years since the injury.

    good luck

  • @TheFrentic If at all possiblewhatever the cost DO NOT risk having any surgery done in a unsafe enviroment whatever country it is. You run the risk of staff infection or other possible problems which could effect your health long term!!!!!!!!

  • how much does a nee arthroscopy cost? i need to have one done, but here in mexico, the social health service is so unsafety and takes a lot of time of documentation and stuff, about 3 months :S

  • I just tore my ACL playing basketball. I got slammed into the court knee first. I have to get this surgery this weekend. IDK how im going to do it

  • I just re hurt my knee today skateboarding, im so mad.. i gotta go get surgery.. There is nothing worse than being hurt in life

  • this video is disguisting but i have to give you credit i like it.

  • Go see a doctor

  • ok, i have a knee injurey thats been bothering me since the 10th grade, and still bother's me up to this day.I am now 18yrs old and now fished highs chool in 09. I think it might be somthing involved with the meniscus, and the PFS. If anybudy can help pleeeeeaaase give me some ideas on how I can fix this, Please let me know asap. Pease, and I beg any one out there to help me.

    -thank you

  • @shellshoc6789 if its ur meniscus which is a fairly common form of knee injury, u probably got it twisting or having a force push your knee sideways. u can let these things heal naturally over time if u work at it, but depends how bad it was injured. if you were able to walk again within a week or two, i imagine it would be a ligament sprain. start doing light weights at the gym and doing running and lunging exercises to strengthen the muscles and tissue which holds your ligamnets into place.

  • sorry but this may not be entirely accurate, i completley ruptured my acl mcl and tore my meniscus and i could walk within three days, although every time i put my foot down funny my knee poped out and every time i lift my leg it just floats around in the socket, im not saying your wrong im just saying that you cant tell how bad an injury is by how long it takes to get better

  • u may get checked for osgood schlatters

  • just got mine on thursday its saturday now you will be in the worst pain of your life it is very painful get ready for the worst pain ever these ppl must be brave syaing it doest hurt it does hurt and itstill hurts im taking t3s tho not oxy

  • i just had my knee done, i tore my meniscus and my acl completely, my surgeon was able to fix both but the recovery was hell, i mean everyones different but mine only stopped hurting after a week or so

  • They say after a knee surgery and rehab your knee becomes even "stronger" than it was before the injury. Was that true for you. I mean were you able to go back to being 100%?

  • it would be good 2 save thta fluid up and drink it i a glass

  • YUM YUM !

  • i had my knee done on oct 5th and it didn't hurt much after 2 days i didn't need the oxycodone until they found a blood clot that was worst then the surgery it self.

  • i am having an arthroscopy next month and would like an idea on the pain after - how painful is it and what medication did you receive? ta x

  • After surgery the pain was non-existent for at least 12 hours or so (due to the morphine). But then it was pretty painful for a couple days. More of a nuisance than real serious pain. They gave me oxycodone for the pain. After a couple days, I didn't need them anymore (but they we're still enjoyed!) Good luck

  • @robynanddan So, how was the pain after surgery?

I just had it done 2 days ago and I don't have any pain - just a little discomfort where (I guess) the inscision (?) was.

  • Is this clearing the torn ligament or harvesting the patella tendon?

  • This is cleaning the torn ligament.... scoping it.

  • do i have to do knee operation?

  • I don't know... talk to a doctor

  • i feel the pain from here ouch!

  • would u recommend surgery for ACL?? not torn, just really stretched out, had therapy, waited, still no good...wat do u say??

  • How long have you waited on it and done therapy?

It could take up to 8 months or a year, and you need therapy 3-4 times a week at least... stationary bike, stretches, simple exercises.

If you have surgery, you're pretty much counting on 8+ months of recovery.

Did they do an MRI and tell you it wasn't torn?

  • how did you get this vid of this are you a surgeon great vid

  • Not a surgeon. Had the surgery done on me. They have cameras to see what they're doing. So I guess they record it, and I just asked for a copy of the video. I'm guessing most hospitals have video of your surgeries.

  • my bad, i did hav a MRI and it was torn...

but i went back to the doctor and he says the both meniscus healed nicely n the ACL is still loose but im not symptomatic, and that the pain that im getting is from my muscles still not being 100% cuz of the injury...sooooo im probably wont need surgery, thanks alot for the advice tho!!!

  • had this surgery done in March 2009--best thing I did--now pain free

  • My problem is a torn meniscus. I had this problem 2 years ago and had this surgery. Best thing I ever did. My right knee feels great. About 6 weeks ago felt stiffening and pain in the left. Sure enough, another torn meniscus. Going in on 8/24, with the same surgeon and getting it taken done immediately. It's amazing how good it feels to walk without pain. I advice anyone with the same problem, if you can, take care of it right away.

  • How long to feeling better? I had surgery - they cut bone also - been three months and I am still experiencing pain.

  • i have a torn meniscus having surgery on wednesday how long did it take to recover or start running again

  • i gotta get this surgery, when its fully healed does it feel the same?

  • It took awhile and several times I thought it would never feel the same. But it worked itself out with strengthening and time. I am playing soccer without any issues or feeling different.

But it will be a process of you thinking it's not getting better fast enough, or won't feel the same. But it will... at some point you'll just realize, "I don't have any more problems with how it feels." Good luck!

  • I had ACL and MCL reconstruction on my knee. The first 3 days following surgery are the worst. By the 4th day I started feeling better. Within 6 weeks I was walking without any crutches or brace. 3 months following therapy, all was good. I'm back to playing baseball again.

  • that's good to hear. it took me a lot longer for playing soccer comfortably. Like 8 months before I could really play. But even then it took another 6-8 months before I really felt like I was healed and not even think about it while playing (and playing a lot harder).

  • i just had dis surgery 3 weaks ago and im only 13 i have some sort of pattela syndrom

  • Great video!

What did your doctor say? There was no need to reconstruct your ligaments?

I think i'm having the same sort of problem. I had my injury just a month ago. MRI shows that the ACL is partially torn, but all the anterior draw tests my doctor makes are negative. The joint seems stable, but i'm still feeling pain when i'm bending my knee.

Now my doctor wants to make an arthroscopic surgery to see if the ligament started healing on it's own or it is necessary to reconstruct the ACL.

    Alex

  • Yes... he thought I was going to need reconstruction on initial diagnosis and from the MRIs. So when I went into surgery (about a month after the initial injury), he determined it was healing on it's own. He tested the strength of it (as you can see in the video), and felt there wasn't a need to reconstruct.

I'd say a new MRI after a month or so, should be able to tell if it's looking better. But surgery like mine may be the best way to test it out. Regardless, your knee will hurt for awhile.

  • heyy how long did they take? My sister is getting this surgery tomorrow, and I'm going to be in the waiting room

  • I think it was about 5 hours from getting there, pre-op, surgery, and then ready for discharge.

  • =.= What r those? feathers??

  • Yeah, I liked my doctor too.

A bit of an anniversary for me:

This time 2 years ago was right after my injury. I relaxed and watched movies with painkillers in my house, while everyone was enjoying the 4th of July, the beach, drinking, being outside.

I actually enjoyed the downtime a bit. And looking back, which you will too a year from now, you'll ALL realize it wasn't so bad (hopefully).

I'm happy to say, I've been playing soccer extensively again, and it doesn't bother me a bit anymore!!

  • I have to have this same surgery done 07/10/09 I'm a little scared but I know everything will be fine. It really helps is you like the person that's going to be cutting on you and I like my surgeon.

  • what did they have to do for yours? i have to have holes drilled throw my bone to let blood get to part of it

  • They did 3 holes... one for the camera to see what they were doing, two for operating on it. Small holes... they went away weeks after the surgery.

  • Thanks for the reply, I was hoping I could start back on the B-Ball court after a few weeks but apparently its gonna take probably 6 months, any exercises to help strengthen the knee?

  • They'll give you some simple stretching exercises. Work on that first. Straightening your leg out next to your other one. Stretching it back... work on full range of motion. Stretch hamstrings, calves, and doing squats with no weights against the wall. Weeks of that first till you're not feeling pain and feeling stronger. DON'T do leg extensions on a machine with weights. Bad for you.

  • How did the surgery go? I am worried about doing it, I want to be able to play a few weeks later

  • The surgery went well. But you won't be playing in a few weeks. You'll need to rest for a couple weeks, then start a slow rehab. It could be anywhere from 4-9 months before you are really ready to play again. Take it slow. You don't want to push it. And you'll be happy once you're strong again.

  • I just had this same surgery two weeks ago. I have a dvd of it and it looks just like your surgery.

My knee is completely bruised and gross looking.

  • It'll start looking better pretty soon. Luckily arthroscopic knee surgery is only 3 small holes to get in. Just think about 10 years ago, you would have had the whole side of your knee sliced open, with a huge scar the rest of your life.

    good luck on getting better.

  • the only ligament remaining in my right knee is the LCL. Beat that!

  • that is rough stuff. i'm luckily playing soccer fully again. it sucks, but you should probably see if you can get surgery to replace it.

  • thanks for showing me this.. i have it in a week, so I'm looking to see what it looks like.

  • Good Luck. Just stick with the rehab, and work it out everyday when they say you can.

  • yeah i had a total knee reconstruction after dislocating my knee 5 times. It hurt like a bitch.. 6month crutches

  • damn i snapped my cruciate in the first friendly of the season and i hav 2 hav a complete reconstruction . im only 14 :o im so gutted

  • I tore my medial and lateral meniscus, I was told it will not heal on its own, I need to get it scoped, does anyone know the rehab time after surgery

  • Comment removed

  • I just had acl knee surgery too. I was wondering how you got the footage of it.

  • My doctor just mentioned that they record it, so I asked! Probably they do it for most procedures so they can review the success/unsuccess.

  • thanks! ill ask my doctor

  • From what I understand about scar tissue, it'll work itself out. You might be stiffer there, but I think it'll get more flexible the more you work it. I may be wrong (i'm not a doctor), but seems like they could clean that up with surgery if it's necessary. I've generally heard MCL will heal... and certainly a sprain is not as bad as a tear of anything.

  • from the ortho books i read, ligaments arent so good at healing themselves, they just get worse....

  • Right now, I am recovering from an MCL sprain and have built up scar tissue in the area, Is this something i need to worry about or will it go away as it gets stronger? anyone?

  • I recently tore the ACL on my right knee from skateboarding. I had my left knee done 10 yrs ago from racing dirt bike. if you stay on your exercises you should be great. Although I still have some days when my surged knee bothers me. counting the days when I get my right knee done. 2 weeks! I want to learn a back flip on the grass

  • thanks for telling me wha happened u i will have to get this opp done and i am worried

  • good luck. You'll be ok. Just make sure you're doing some simple exercises now to keep from atrophy. And as soon as the doctor tells you you can rehab it after the operation, get to work on it. Take it slow, but keep on it for several months.

  • do u think it will be complety fixed so u will never notice it at all

  • i think so. I don't really notice it now, but only notice that I'm not yet as good playing yet. I think that'll just get better with time.

  • can you play sport as good as be4 the op

  • i'm doing better and better. It's just been some time getting my muscles stronger and used to cutting on it again.

  • what is the fluid in this video?

  • your acl doesnt heal on its own u either have to geta muscle graft, or get a dead persons acl or just live w/ a torn one

  • Thanks--I am doing my best and now visiting the acupuncture and alternative things while waiting to get into UTSouthwestern Medical to find out is I have RSD or now called CRPS--which may occur after an injury --whether by a car wreck or a surgery to a major joint. So keep your fingers crossed. The body is a divine machine and usually heals all by itself. Also doing a bit of yoga too:) Good Luck to you and play on!

  • Those particles are fine--at least in what I have learned from having a knee surgery. Hope your soccer playing is going well.

  • I had arthoscopic knee surgery for chondromalcia of the patella plus some clean up on floating loose cartiledge. I am now suffering with a baker's cyst and possible CRPS or RSD. Any advice would be welcome. The surgery was Oct. 22 and I am still recovering. It was only eight minutes! Help. Reanee

  • Hmmm.. All I did was try to keep a positive attitude about any setbacks. I did the simple exercises that the PT told me. Once they said I could advance to more weight bearing exercises, I kept up with that as much as possible.

I guess it takes a positive attitude, knowing that you're not the only one dealing with knee problems, and being determined to fix it by keeping up with PT and being careful.

If you think your knee is still messed up, check with another orthopedist.

    Good luck.

  • I had knee surgery 2 weeks ago. If i sit to long, my knee hurts when i stand up. It also feels like it wants to pop, but i am afraid to make it pop.

  • coooool, today is my 2 month mark for my knee surgery.... i had my ACL reconstructed (they took my hamstring) and my miniscis sewn back together. I got injured by playnig soccer 2.

  • Good luck, Sammy. I've been playing soccer again pretty hard. It's been over a year now. Just make sure you spend time doing your physical therapy. Then slowly start working into weights, biking, running to restrengthen your leg. But not for 6 more months probably!

  • Thanks 4 the advice!

  • man, how much the knee surgery cost. i have the same problem with my acl and the lateral side of my miniscus. all i'm worry about is money not the surgery and rehab.
