  • Excellent Review.

  • I'm deciding between these and the HD650's. I appreciate your review and your English is great, if you try talking slower you might be able to find the right words easier :D. Keep up the good work.

  • Awesome review, thanks dude!!!

  • I'm really considering a pair of these, your review is helpful-thank you!!

  • Good review! I also have these headphones... They are MONSTERS, love the sound they produce!

  • I really dont understand why people buy expensive Grado headphones to use them with a ipod .

  • @HARDCOREUITHETZUIDEN prolly won't be so bad if they listen to flac files

  • Great review. How is the battery life if I use these headphones with an ipod or an iphone?

  • Do you know if the SR225is has the same headphone jack? Meaning do I need to buy a mini adapter if I buy a SR225is?

  • Comment removed

  • @dhimanro yes you will need the Grado 1/4" to 1/8" adapter

  • grado rules! i've been using a grado sr80i and i love it. i hope to upgrade to the sr325i some day

  • GREDIO 355

  • if you give me these headphones, i will teach you english.

  • Hey I really don't know much about the music world. What do you mean by "using an amp"

  • @DeMichaelSuperFan

Headphone amp make all the different, it kind of like driving sport car with unleaded gasoline, but with premium headphone, it can unlock hidden sound but it is very - very expensive (try to buy battery one, more portable). try to google this headphone amp:Grado RA1 Reference Headphone Amplifier (Battery Power)

  • @albert2090 you might want to invest in just a full size speaker amp. They usually provide a headphone jack and are pretty quality. And most cost less than the Grado RA1 reference headphone amp.

  • i hope he replies to this ...

but even now two years down the line , for the same price range would you recommend these headphones ?

And also ,, how loud are the Grado's For OTHER People , because i dont want to be annoying family members with music when im in a seperate room .

    Thanks :) Appreciate any replies.

  • @TheGenetic1

These headphone are very load, similar to cheap laptop speaker (sound leak from headphone). I am currently using Sennheiser hd650, that headphone is so loud during usage that I can't even listen to them at night.

  • i love these head phones but i did the same broke them.....

  • Hey thanks for your post and review. I have the SR80 and it has lasted me 9 years now. I can't wait for it to brake so that I could do what you did...except I will be getting the GS1000. I don't have the guts to physically break the headphone because 1) they are very high quality and 2) I want to see how long they last so I can make my review of it when it goes down. Once again, thanks.

  • Great headphones. Grados have something really special.

  • very good review, keep practicing your english , anyway , good review

thanks , i am going to buy one of these and i will post my review too :)

  • Hey dude, I need a headphone amp for my laptop, any suggestions for a portable amp. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of Grado sr225's within the next few weeks.

  • 3025? Thats what i heard from u how much the headphones costs.. -_-! oh wait 325... ooohhhh....

  • what kind of amp are u using ??

  • I have the Gs1000 and they make me cry every time I listen to them

  • That's my dream headphone GS1000, I want get my hand on that headphone so bad but the triple digit zero is prevent me from getting it. Way too expensive. It's worth it??? $1000 price??

  • @albert2090 you can pick 1 up for about half that now

    yes it is worth it

with a descent amp it will bring water to your eyes time and time again

  • @albert2090

I got my set this week, was £500(GBP) second hand, and man they blew my SR80i out of the water.

Using on an Onkyo Cinema Amp (The exact model escapes me)

  • @albert2090 It's very worth it.

  • @albert2090 i found them for 700 dollars on ebay lol

  • @kraznot i can only imagine...... :(

  • Do the sr 225 need an amp, please answer

  • @kraznot

They all need to sound the best. But, as any other headphones, they can play without amp and play not so juicy.

  • Very true, I didn't realize this until I hook up 325i to my home theater receiver. Sound quality was like night and day:) You can hear the different!

  • Yes! Depending on your source EX. ipod, nexus one, iphone etc but not from home theater amp:)

  • i love my sr60i's but i want to upgrade to these. i can live with the oversized headphone jack but the whole "amp" thing worries me. i spend most of my time listening to music on the computer but i just dont want to spend money on extra equipment.

  • I'd advise people to sample different brands before choosing one, because the sound is going to be different. Even with the 325's if you look at the freq response graph it's not as neutral as an equivalent pair of senns.

Saying this because I own both sets, ie: a more neutral sounding headset like the senns (HD600 etc..) may not sound so exciting at first because the sound is uncolored but listening for long periods of time is much less fatiguing than on a set of grados.

  • Grado's rock! Thanks for the video review!

  • This video is about a year old now. You're still enjoying these 325i headphones? I've tried the entry level SR60 but I found them very uncomfortable on my ears after 15 minutes or so.

  • @ChrisGranger Keep wearing them, I have a pair of the sr80i's (same ear cushion as the sr60) and I am so happy I didn't give up on them. After the first week, I was bummed, they were really uncomfortable. But after a while the earpads softened up, and now they are like earmuffs, Don't give up!

  • @dmunro91 Grado should work on their cushions. I got the RS-1is and it's a major pain after 3 hours. The sound quality makes it all worthwhile though.

  • @ChrisGranger

Buy a pair of Grado "comfy" pads (google for them) after a few seconds you'll forget you're headphones are on :)

  • 325i is much larger than SR60 and much more comfortable.

  • Well the SR-325 are VERY solid headphones for the price.

Grado's shining star is the PS-1000, these babies go head to head with Sennheiser's HD800. Both need a headphone amp to achieve the superb SQ they are capable of.

  • Hey, great review. I'm looking at buying the SR225i, but I was wondering about the "burn-in" period, this is where, apparently, the headphones acquire better sound over a certain time period (usually a few hours). Did you notice any difference after a few hours use?

  • How long did you have the 125 before it broke?

  • couple of months. I was careless.

  • @albert2090

OMG, they're unbreakable and unkillable. Breaking them in couple months is something X)

  • I have a pair of GS1000, if your a real headphone fanatic listen to a pair they are beyond incredible.

  • so is the price tag lol

  • The guy knows that it's 'grado', look at the description. It's just his pronunciation. He also clearly states that these are the 'i' version. Why be so negative when he's only trying to provide a helpful review?

  • Well, fair enough. I found the bit about the ipod helpful. Maybe its good for people who don't know much or anything about headphones

  • @Mongoose912

are you kidding me? he is perfectly fine with his english. What a turd! grow up, travel around. You wont be as narrow minded as you are right now. He doesnt have to sound like a redneck to speak proper english.

  • @salemshady you get the wrong guy there?

  • hey i want to get the GRADO SR125 and i was wondering due to the open ear design, can others hear the song i am playing? if its loud enough.

  • Yes, very clearly. It sucks, but the sound is better. If that's a dealbreaker look at IEM's or sealed phones (Denon D2000's are great).

  • Yeah, I have a pair of Alessanfro Ms-1 and they are open and others will hear but its not loud..

  • I have the SR225 and they sound great.the one complaint I have is that the male is a 1/4 inch as apposed to a 3.5 mm( the standard mp3 jack) so, I went to get an adapter and it fit fine but it wore out the female on my ipod so i would have to twist the male around to get the sound to come out of both ears. so what i did was purchase an upbeat audio boostaroo amp and it made the sound quality even better and i didnt have to worry about the worn jack. so overall these headphones sound great w/ amp

  • Great review, and keep working on your English - you are doing a good job

  • Thank You!

  • Has anyone tried the GS1000??? I want to just try them, and when I get the money (pfff... when is that going to happen) I would consider to invest in them!

  • I got to try them but I did not buy them as they were waay too expensive. I asked them how much it cost and the salesperson said $1500.

  • You can purchase the GS1000 online for $995.00.

  • i have tried the gs1000 and they are absolutely amazing there is no distinction between what they sound like and hearing it live. They are truly amazing

  • getting ripped off in this country.

  • Hey, anybody in the UK should check out the alessandro range of headphones, they're made by grado but slightly tweaked, and they offer great value for money in the UK. A pair of sr-80i grado cost over £110 here, where as you can get a ms-1 alessandro, which is meant to be comparative to the sr-125i (ie better than the sr-80i) but cost less than £70 to the UK ! This is because alessandro offer a flat rate shipping to all countries direct from their website, with grado you are unfortunately

  • Bought a SR-80i recently and total loved the sound of it. The only bad thing I dislike about it is it makes my ear sweaty. My SR-325is (silver cups) are on order and coming. But it for a sick deal though always 1/2 the MSRP price. Selling my SR80i soon and they only have like 50 hrs of listening.

  • i have the silver 325i's on the way!

  • SAME , what amp are you gonna pair em with ?

  • hey dude, i got em over 2 weeks ago and i paired them with a ROLLS amp. I heard for the best sound you should pair them with a tube amp of some sorts or an amp produced by grado. But i'm an audiophile on a budget so... I couldn't afford either of them.

  • yeah i was thinking of getting a little dot mkiv as i have also heard tube amps are the best, but if you get it from HK it is only about $250 or less

  • lol, little above my budget... I may get one in the future though. But, try looking on ebay you can get them for pretty cheap.

  • same thing happened to me sr 125 fell apart,i bought grado rs 2 they will last forever better built and obviously better sounding

  • I heard SR80's are SR60's but with more bass. I have the SR60i for improved how does it compare to the sr125?

  • viveodude4 grado are for led zeppelin hard rock forever

  • hey Albert I just got my 125's & it sounded awesome,but I wanna know is there a huge difference between 125i & 325i?

  • Hey man, you said you broke your SR 125's when you wore them to sleep. What about the 325's? Are they comfortable when you sleep with them on or wear them for a long time? I want to get a pair of SR225i's, but I'm afraid they'll be uncomfortable since they don't surround the ear lobe.

  • hey what about gaming !?

do you play games with these ? and are they any good ? some info on this if you can please.

    (anthother video ?)

  • it will -hammer- anything called "gamer headphones"

  • hammer?....

  • the part of a gunlock that strikes the percussion cap when the trigger is pulled

  • ok I get that. but your saying it will beat any gamer head phones am I right? Id like these head phones but they arn't very comfortable...

  • i just sold my Grado sr60i and bought the ATH M50s

  • thank you for the great review!

  • Thanks,

    I prefered the Grado sr125,

The 325i while beautifully made has too much bass and treble but less output, in other words they are 125s with the midband and hense output reduced.

Get them if you like boom and tizz otherwise go for the 125s with its more dynamic midrange. Plus the 125s are more comfortable being lighter.

  • thank you for that comment i couldn't decide between the 125s the 225s and the 325s. so do you think the 125s are even better than the 225s as well? also do you reccomend using a headphone amp/DAC combo? thanks very much for the help. Also could i just use my Cambride audio amp ?

  • Never tried the 225s but they are almost identcle to the 125s with just a different back,

The 225s are not as good value as the 125s, I think they would both be better than the 325s but i have not yet tried the new improved range.

I think headphone amps are overated a good integrated output should be good enough..

  • Hey man. Great headphones. Actually I heard them and they are much better than SR 80 which I have. And the SR 80 kick some serious ass. No wonder SR 325 are $400 here in Toronto, Canada.

  • I have the SR 80s myself and you are right, they do kick some serious ass, awesome sounding and Good headphones for the money.

  • Hello Everyone, I just found about Two reasonable price AMP: 1) Cmoy ($10 kit-$30built) 2) Mini^3 by amps lab ($89 kit - $149 built).

  • The I stands for improved. 300 is the going rate for new audiophile headphone...My 12 plus headphones cost me around 4 grand.

  • I know that Grado claims that the new "i" series headphones are better, but I haven't heard a good comparison of an "i" to a not "i".

On a separate note, is the 4k with or without extras like amps and DACs? With those two I clock in at around $1,250 Canadian, but I've only just begun!

  • Grado headphones are just amazing, in special the GS100, RS1,RS2, but at that price the ear cushions could came in leather because they are just a sponges.

  • can you do another more thorough video of these headphones and a more close up on the headphones. I am thinking of buying a pair.

  • Why you do this?

    :(

  • I recently got bore so I did a search for Grado review and oddly, I didn't find any review at all. So did one, Grado is excellent brand name, little pricey but good quality.

  • albert, also if you are looking to experiment with headphone amps you can make your own! just go and google cmoy amp. all you need is solderieing skills and about 20 dollars for parts.

also, what number did you get? (its on the bottom white part of the box)

  • what you talking about? "also, what number did you get? (its on the bottom white part of the box) "

  • the i stands for improved. also you could of repaired the grado 125.

also, you might want to mod the 325i to have a wooden enclosure, this will improve bass a bit (plus it reduces weight, and looks better).

also, about the sen 650, they arent as "in your face" and lively as the grado's. with the 325i you feel like you are right there! plus the 650's really do need an amp. i wouldnt recomend jumping from 325i to 650 because of price, 650+ amp will easily be over 800.

  • You, my friend, have a nice set of headphones. I have upgraded from my Grado SR60 to the Grado RS2 and the latter sounds incredible. However, my Sennheiser HD650s are still my best cans to date. Overall, though, Grado Labs make top quality products throughout their entire line. Grado SR60 are still in my top 3 headphones under $100.

  • How is Sennheiser HD650s headphone? I been trying to get my hand on one of that for a while but it too pricy ? I had heard people saying it to much bass comparing to Grado brand, it's true?

  • It's not bass heavy, but it gives you strong bass when your audio source demands it. Crystal clarity with an overall sweetness on all frequencies and I would describe the bass as a tight, accurate THUMP(for bass drums). As with all Sennheiser audiophile cans, the comfort is unbeatable.

  • great video man I appreciated it lots

  • ok thanks, and i heard the sound leaks from those headphones. Does it really leak a lot so that other people can here the sound distinctively?

  • That true it does leak out, the headphone is open air so sound will definitely leak out. If you are in are small room, the headphone can be use a speaker, that how loud it is:)

  • cool video! how long is the cable for the headphones? and for the jack of the headphones, do u need to buy a adapter for a normal ipod?

  • I don't know for sure but it very long. You have to buy a adapter 3.5 mm for ipod jack, the grado headphone jack is just to long.

  • i have one Audio-Technica ATH-A700 Closed $ 120 dollar

    Grado SR325i its better than Audio-Technica ATH-A700 ?

  • good review. right now, i am using the Fubar3 from audiophile products with akgk701's. i just ordered grado-alessandro MS-2's and have heard that they are similar to the sr325's. i am thinking of getting the Little country 3 from audiophile products...has anyone used that tube amp and is it worth the price?

  • Hi look at ebay for little dot... not to expensive and still good.

Or look for firestone audio products on the net, good quality as well.

I have 4 amps, maybe i make video about them.

  • Please do, I am always curious about amp. I don't get why it so expensive? If a receiver for Home theater cost similar price but have more function, while AMP have only One function but cost so much.

  • Does any one know any reasonable price AMP for Grado Headphone?

  • Dude i wish i could grabbed those headphones out of the screen!! I've ordered the Sr60's for the moment but i'm saving up for the 325i's and then a portable headphone amp for some tasty tunes :P

  • Would headphone amp make a huge different in sound quality? I haven't got a chance to buy any headphone amp yet, it's too expensive. Grado amp is about $399, more than my headphone:(

  • Dude i'll private message you because what i just wrote was waaaayyyyyy over 500 words! XD

  • A headphone amp WILL make a HUGE difference. The SR60 are the only ones that won't show that much of a sonic improvement with and amp. Your SR325i should excel with a proper amp (doesn't need to be super fancy) and you will enjoy it much more. My SR80's are on the way, Im gonna use them with my NAD hi-fi amp but also with my iPod/iPhone, hence the 80s and not up whom will have a 1/4" plug and need a tad more power. Grado headphones are fantastic. Sorry again for my initial rudeness.

  • Ass

  • Okay, maybe I was a bit harsh, but I stand my ground. Why not make it a text review? Im sure that'll be better. I had trouble understanding him, I know he made and effort but still, he at least should've done it in his native language. Im sure that if I post a video of me speaking poor english (im a native spanish speaker) someone will do the same. Nice headphone BTW, I have the SR80s, I'll get the GS1000s' someday.

  • My apology for the bad english. I was trying to get this video online fast as possible, since I didn't have time. I saw only one review for Grado headphone on Youtube so I had to post my own review up.

  • No worries, delete my original post please :D

  • Great video! I did have one question, are they very comfortable? I would like to upgrade from my current headphones because I feel like my head's being squished when I wear them!

  • It's very comfortable. I wore it for 3 hours without even noticing any discomfort. It's very airy too, compareing to my old bose noice cancellation headphone where it sweaty after wearing it around 2 hours.

  • Sounds good. Well, I'll have to go pick up a pair of my own. Thanks for the reply! :)

By the way, have you considered picking up a Grado Mini Adapter Cable? I just noticed them, it looks like they can help reduce the bulk normal 3/4" to 1/8" adapters create.

  • Sweet dude. I just ordered the SR80's :) I cant wait to get them

  • Why didn't you save up a little to get SR125? it only about $125, I think the sound quality would definetly be a lot better.

  • I know - i was thinking about it but you here alot of gud things about the Sr60 and i just wanted a pair...plus then when i do upgrade the jump is quality should really hit me :)

  • Actually, i'd argue that the upgrade won't be as great as you were expecting. Once you get past like $100 pairs the differences in models becomes less and less great.

  • thanks for the insight, in the end i actually found the grado range just a little bit too bright for my liking and got a pair of AKG K701's which just feel lush on my head :)
