The piece is wonderful enough, but to hear that you've played it yourself makes me shiver: Absolutely marvellous! I'm glad to read, that so many other people are feeling the same. You should not be allowed to leave stage anymore ;-)
Yeah this is well done, i always think the D flat (?) drone should have a consistent tempo throughout the piece, kinda juxtaposing everything else that's happening around it.
When I listen to this song I feel like the high notes want to drift off to Heaven, but the lower notes keep saying " no no no no!" and are dragging them down.
Finally.. a version on YouTube that is at an appropriate tempo... I'm thrilled!!
I'm learning this on the piano myself, and it's been interesting because of my small hands (I'm 19 but the size of about a 12 year old) and I'm thrilled that there is someone out there that sees this piece the same way I do.
I really enjoyed this. Others I've listen to usually has someone breathing heavily in the back ground, and when I'm relaxing the last thing I want to hear is someone breathing while I'm trying to enjoy soothing music. So thanks for that.
Beautiful! I'm so glad you didn't feel the need to rush your playing. The tempo feels just perfect! Are you playing on a digital piano? Not that it sounds bad, but if digital pianos have any faults, it's that they sound just a bit too clean. Either way, well done! Yours is the best version of this song I've heard yet.
This is my favorite piece from Chopin. You can feel the pain and suffering he went through while composing this piece. Chopin, suffering from Leukemia, and Amandine Aurore Lucille Dupin left for Majorca to aid in his recovery. During the miserable winter they were driven out of Majorca because they were not wed. They found lodging in a monastery in Valldemossa. It was here during a terrible winter that Chopin composed this masterpiece.
My hats off to pianist for a truly authentic rendition!
To all the gamers and Halo fans: I'm a Halo fan like the next gamer...but STOP linking Halo with this piece!!!! You dilute...nay...DESTROY the value of this piece. Listen to it as it is. You'll gain more from it :) this is my favorite piece of Chopin's to play. Great interpretation!
I want to learn this at some point in time. I have been listening to Valentina Igoshina's interpretation, which i have found to be the best for my taste, but yours is right up there (like past Horowitz which I guess I shouldn't say that too loud ;)
Hate to sound overly sentimental, but this rendition brought a "raindrop" to my eye. Unlike most pianists, you've actually taken this piece down to a proper tempo, allowing the listener to fully take in each moment in blissful quietude. Even the "stormy" middle section retained an element of passionate introspection. I commend you for this interpretation.
i wanted to listen to chopin after watching dexter. this is my favorite of his so far. it's really peaceful =)
and yea man. i'd love to hear more of ur work. this seems like a slower version, and i agree with the others, this song slightly slower... is just perfect. it really is.
thank you man. i enjoyed listening to this alot more than you'd believe. someone keeps saying chopin was constantly thinking about things, and this way how he expressed it. and i understand it o so well.
@DeadFoxMS89 thanks alot for your kind words, i makes me extremely happy to hear when people are enjoying my playing
i should be uploading 3 more chopin pieces this summer now that im on holiday from work, i hope you listen to them when they're up and enjoy them as much as this one =)

You're really good! I love this rendition. Like many others said, this tempo is just right. And you make the appropriate dynamics. Flawless...

The song sounds almost angry at times.
TLaitharex 11 months ago
@TLaitharex I wouldn't say angry so much as I would say 'insistent', or perhaps 'emphatic'.
